Hello everyone..

My husband sent the papers for adjustment of status last October 12th and he's freaking out because until now the check hasn't been cashed, its been 10 days and he taught its not normal.. Here's the thing, the check is payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security but he wrote Department of Homeland Security omitting the U.S. instead. We also included form G-1145 E-Notification of Application and until now we didnt received any email..

My question is this:

Assuming that everything is ok, no problem with the check. It does really take time for them to cashed it?

Why we didn't received an e-mail, the fact that they received the packet last oct 14th according to UPS tracking?

If the check is wrong what will happened to our application?

Any answers will be appreciated..Thank you

Hi puppy eye, i had my interview last june 24th and for K1 they didn't required DS-160, only DS 156, 156k and 157 and of course an appointment letter sent to her by the embassy.

I had my interview June 24th, only DS forms 156, 157and 156k was submitted.

Addie, just use the same letter you used in filing for the I-129F but change the date into recent one. That's what we did.

we have the same date of sending the I-129f we recieved our NOA1 march3 but on the reciept we recieved is dated feb.19, 2010 and now we still waiting to our NOA2 until now no news from our laywer how come yours is so fast???you got your NOA2 in just 2months any advice you could give me hope you reply and can you gave me your email adds or if you have facebook pls add me gwuapashane@yahoo.com or search shavid zuarez so we could talk i want someone to talk to on this visa i am nervous and confused and i dont know what to do good luck on your medical and interview hope everything will be ok god bless and i'll wait for your reply

Hi Shane,

Maybe we did sent our packet at exactly same date but in different filling centers, i see that your filling center is at Arizona and mine was in California. I suggest look for the forum of Feb 2010 Arizona Lockbox filing center and compare your timeline with them. There's nothing really that i can tell but be patience, i know its frustrating and feels like forever but there's nothing we can do. Just hang on in there, you will receive your NOA2 in time. I just received a letter from the US embassy here in Manila saying that our case is eligible and we can now schedule the interview, it also says we need to compile all the needed documents and go medical before interview. I am confused because i am expecting Packet 3 with all the DS-forms or "is this Packet 3?". What will i do next? Sorry guys but i need enlightenment to all this.. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

I would put it on there. All these documents are to be filled to the best of your knowledge. Try and find out his name (maybe old co-workers would know? If you remember the project name, etc. there will be documentation on who carried out this project somewhere.. I know it's a pain). If you put 'Not employed', they could find out and ask a lot of questions...

Also, for everyone else, isn't the DS-157 only for male applicants between 15 and 55 or something like that?? At least that's how it is here. I couldn't find anything on the webs... does anyone know specifically?
