    it was not too bad; like we thought, they just want to have a convo with you. will write the review later. we pick up the passport with the visa tomorrow after 3 from the VFS office.

    The email is already sent and so the ball is in their court now.

    Hope they reply to the email acknowledging it,especially since I asked them to.

    It's a waiting game all over again now. :unsure:

    best of luck!!!! i'm also off to India this PM and will be getting there wed early AM. my wife's getting there the same time and then we're gonna go knock this interview out on thursday. as i said before, i think we'll all do just fine. i dont think we would have gotten this far if the USCIS/NVC didnt think we're legit and saw any red flags. So just remember guys - they just wanna have a convo with you. perfectly normal for them to wanna know who's entering the country; so let's make it ez for them!

    Good Luck Hobo... give us good news from Chennai as soon as you can on the 10th...

    congratulations!!!! :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: i know what a struggle it was getting PCCs and all. Do write a report, cuz we need to know what to expect, especially us chennai-ites!

    The interview officer asked her 4 questions only

    1)how did you meet your husband? and when and where was the wedding?

    2)tell us about your husband family?

    3)where does he work?

    4)Again when was the wedding ? ( then he asked her how was the wedding and how many people were there, when my wife told that there were more than 2000 people at the wedding.. he was surprised and asked her how could we manage such a big wedding party, she told him that she doesnt know it was done by elders in the family :)

    He looked at the wedding pics and told her that pics came pretty good and made some comments about the traditional south indian clothes & shadi mandap.

    they he told her congrats your visa has been approved and its time for oath :)

    She is still in Chennai, hoping to pick up the passport/visa tomorrow.

    She went inside the consulate abround 8am and came out at 10:15am..

    Good luck to you Hobo and SJ... you guys will be fine. they dint ask her anything about ongoing relationship or anything like that....

    * make sure to tell them to take the copies of BC and marriage certificate....

    thanks! my wife finally got the physical interview letter in the mail a couple of days ago. i guess it took them almost a month to reach her (?!). Anyways, good luck on your trip to the US and the PoE.

    Chintu is up real soon and SJ just a day before mine. I get to chennai June 9th. All you chennai-ites - rock your interviews and be confident. you've all come a long way and dont worry about the questions or anything. remember, these folks just wanna have a friendly conversation with you, that's all. So be confident and best of luck to y'all. btw, chintu and SJ, are you planning to be in chennai for your wives' interviews?

    No i won't be at chennai for the interview...

    Guys, dont freak out - I think we'll all do just fine. I've just come back after spending 4 hours at the inept Indian consulate (from 8 AM to 12 pm) in NY and am happy to say that after all that struggling, waiting, yelling and screaming and wheeling and dealing, that I got my OCI card and unrestricted rights to go to India. So now I indeed can go for my wife's interview on the 10th :dance: :dance: :dance: ...btw, if you EVER wanna feel what its like to get punched in the balls, just go deal with the indian administrative system... :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

    btw, there were actual newspaper reporters covering what was going on and how s****y the Indian gov't treats its own people. no doubt this will be at least in the New York Daily News (as one of the reporters there was taking pics and i even talked to him) perhaps tomorrow or monday/tuesdays... :angry:

    now to just battle the a**, i mean ash cloud, the british airways strike and oh yea, my wife's Actual interview on the 10th!!! fun fun fun B-)

    Congrats man atleat you got your OCI now :) ..... i heard British airways cabin crew still on strike ....

    YOOOO BITCHESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA IS APPROVED .... Vegas here we come!!! Am at the airport so will post later but thank you to every single one of you beautiful people. :star::dance::star:

    oh yes, here and preparing. my wife's done with printing all the paperwork, AND i've also sent paperwork thru my parents who left to India a couple of days ago. she's taking care of some last minute affidavits, but we're in full scale interview prep mode. in the meantime, i have to go camp out at the indian embassy here in NY to get my indian visa stuff sorted out...it would take too long to explain, but basically i have to go pass these a-holes more money to go...on top of this, i'm tracking the british airways strike and make sure i'll be able to fly on the 7th and bring my wife back on the 18th...so ya LOTS of stuff going on!

    not to mention i still have to set things up in my apartment for my wife; have to buy a armoire, vaccuum cleaner etc etc...it NEVER ends!

    Hey good luck with your OCI part( hope you got it by today/friday).. About British Airways... yesterday they re-booked my cousin to Qatar Airways at the last minute.

    I am also preparing my wife, the date is coming soon..(Hobo any info about Chenaai hotels?where to stay and stuff? ).. Hope all the JUNE interviews will end up with news :)

    No specific reason, just requested them if they have any earlier date for me...

    awesome! guess you went to collect it in person, huh? did you call vfs ahead and tell them to not courier it and just that you would come and pick it up?

    my wife called up chennai and asked them what to submit to the VFS in bangalore - they said just the 387 Rs. i was a bit surprised; figured that they would ask her to give the medical report, but i guess she'll just take everything to the interview on the 10th. at this point, i dont know what the point of the VFS is - if you can pick up the passport yourself, then they're just making money for nothing...figures...

    anyone keeping up with the latest ridiculousness with the indian govt and how they're treating PIOs (ppl of indian origin) who are US citizens??? any US citizen of indian origin applying for an OCI card, or any kind of indian visa has to cough up another extra f*****n 175 US dollars to get a stupid surrender certificate saying that they renounced their indian citizenship; never mind the fact that when you get US citizenship, by default, you surrender any other nationality. more reasons to just get the h*** out of India and the indian system...no wonder they're seeing the brain drain, with all this kind of BS and nonsense...

    Hey hobo, I dont think we need to go to the VFS and submit anything, my wife's interview is on JUNE3rd at 8am.. and she is taking her medical reports and rest of the stuff to the consulate( including her new pcc )

    And about OCI yeah i did hear about this new rule( thank god i got my OCI lastyear ) now my uncle is trying to get a visa and for this also they need that renounciation certificate... thats crazyyyy/. think its another way of making $$$$ for the indian govt.

    yesterday i had an interview in islamabad embassy .i was sure that i will go through Ap but i was wrong.my interview was only 2 mins long and was asked only 3 questions

    who has filed for you?

    what she is doing ?

    tell me the names of her firends......thats it

    i was shocked when she said that you will get your passport back in 7 to 14 days.

    yes. she can definitely take the pcc and medical reports directly to the interview.
