Alright ladies, here is the update. We had our joint interview. They went through our picuters over and over again, something about our album was intriguing to them. They passed it around like it was a show. They warned me about fraud several times and asked me if I wanted to talk to a consulate to "protect myself". I was upset. The lady asked me if I was doing anyone a favor. I told her I didn't owe anyone a favor and I was married to my husband because I love him. They told us we would get results in 4-6 weeks. Ugh!!!
Lisa,
I am so sorry about what happened at your interview. I don't know what is going on with these people. I know that they have a job to do, but I see many people that did not married for love got through and we who love our husbands and they who love us can not get through. But I will tell you that God is good and he always come through. Lisa this is the time for us to pray and believe. Lets release our problems to the Lord and he will take care of it. Have a bless night.

It is going on the 3rd month, but like my good friend said God is great and our hubbies will be hear soon. So to all who are going through AP God will find a way to get our husbands hear. To all who have got through enjoy you husband or wife to the fullest.

It seems to me that they are giving most people that got through that Consulate a very hard time. I know how you feel because my wedding was very very small too. To make matters worse only my cousin and her husband was the my only family in attendance because most of my family lives here in the US and it was a bit short notice on my part informing them that I would be getting married. On top of that my grandfather died a few days before my wedding so my grandmother was unable to come and my aunts as well; they had to stay home for his wake. But my husband's family was there with us. We have already talked about doing another ceremony when (God willing) he gets here. i think it is completely unfair that they would question the number of people or who attended anyone's wedding especially in light of the economic atmosphere. I certainly could not justify having a big wedding nor did I want one.
I say you continue to pray because prayer truly helps and because your relationship is true then they will see it even if it takes a few more days. I sincerely wish you the best and I hope your husband comes in time for the summer if not earlier.
Jujuswife,
I still don't understand why they could question our relationship. I dont think it is fair but that how it is. I do know that I married my husband for love and nothing else. Why would I married a man with children and assist him and spent money to see it and go to other countries for vacation with him if I did not love him or he did not love me. So I know at the end of this they will grant us the visa. And thank you for writing me back.

From what I have read in the forums here A white paper/slip and a blue paper/slip given to you after your interview are mostly the same. They are both checklists of the lacking documents you have to submit. The difference is that the white paper contains the Consul's signature, while the blue paper is where you will fill up your basic information.
I have also read that either paper/slip can contain a denial, but that is not true for everyone, depends on case and sometimes country. Since you case is in AP I sure your husband didn't get a denial so he may be getting his Visa very soon. Hopefully they complete their investigation soon. Good luck.
Thank you for informing me. I just want my hubby to get his visa. I have love this man for most of my life. I have been through ups and downs with him, I have known his children from birth and support them with school and everything else. So, I really dont know what they are looking for. I thought we had all the proof we needed. We talked about five to six times during the day. I went home twice to see him last year. We went to JA for vacation and Antigua where we got married. Yes, I understand that our family and friends were not there, but since when is that a crime? We just wanted an intimate and private wedding. I am just praying that everything will be alright.

Oh boy, now I'm feeling nervous about this consulate. My husband has a child too, but he will not follow-to-join because his mother likely wouldn't want him to come. He is her only child so I understand that letting him go would be hard. I hope they don't give us a difficult time at the consulate. Did they give him a white slip or a blue slip?
What is the different with the slip? I did not ask him. I dont know what to tell you just that every case is different.

Are they (children) both of yours? Or from a previous marriage?
From is other relationship. He was never married before me.

thank u all I will wait and pray.

Hi everyone,
my case is in AP. My husband said it seemed like everything was going fine until the children came up. Now I dont know what to do. I have been the one who helps take care of them? I email the embassy stating that. What more can I do.

Hi everyone, I just need some support. My husband interview is Monday in Guyana, and I am so nervous. I am going to bed late and I'm getting sick. I have been reading people letters about be deny and I just wonder how can someone tell you that your marriage is wrong. He goes for 7 in the morning. I sent him everything and I hope and pray to God that he does well.

I'm not sure if it made a big difference, but I did attend my husband's interview in GT a year ago today. We were approved and picked up the visa the next day. They did interview us separately, but with the embassy you just never know what they are really looking for. You sound like you are prepared for this, so if you cannot make it, just make sure your husband goes there confident. There was another guyanese on VJ that did not go to her husband's interview and he was approved just fine. Good luck!!
Thanks for the encouragement. I can not get the days, so he will have to do it on his own. I will keep encouraging him.

I did not go to my wife's interview either but I was told that if I could write a letter telling how I met my wife, how much I loved her and sent my apologies that I was not able to attend the interiew because I was not able to take time off of work, that this would help. When my wife was asked if I was there at the interview she showed my letter and she says she thinks this helped. So this is just a thought that may help with the interview!
Thank u. I will do a letter and send it to him so he can give it to them.

As some perspective from a spouse that did go, I can tell you that it made my wife a lot more comfortable, but I'm not terribly convinced it did us a whole lot of good for the interview. I came up, she (the consular officer) asked if I was the husband, I said yes, showed my passport, and then I sat back down. I think our approval was much more influenced by a.) our paperwork, which was very thorough and frontloaded, b.) our evidence--we had pictures, and c.) my wife's demeanor.
To the extent that my presence helped my wife's demeanor, I think going was a good idea. But having been through the process, I wouldn't say it was at all necessary. This is keeping in mind that we are an Iranian couple, which almost always requires AP. Then again, I don't think Abu Dhabi is a terribly difficult embassy, so it's hard to say if your embassy will look at it differently.
Thank u so much. I think because I can not get off I will let him do it himslef and pray very hard very hard.

I was unable to attend my husband`s interview last summer & it was not a problem. He was issued the visa. Be sure that your husband take along every piece of evidence material you guys can think of. It sounds like you are prepared so don`t worry yourself too much. Best of luck!
Thanks for the encouragement. I know we do. I can't wait.

I think it also depends on if they receive "hits" on your petition. I read one of the Q&A guides by a former adjudicator. He said it can be a number of reasons why your petitions have not been approved yet. And you may not even receive an RFE.
I think you should try your best to stay positive. I though I was going out of my mind too while waiting. It is funny the week I stopped checking the USCIS website was when I got approved. Also, in the mean while read through Ling Che's guide. I already have everything ready for the NVC. I'm just waiting for them to open on Monday so that I can give them our emails.

I was reading your story and it sounds like mine. My husband and I had an on and off relationship before the spent two to three years not talking to each other. Then I when back home for a funeral and we realize that we can not live without each other and that we did not want too. We got married in Antigua and it was so beautiful. Now it is like a waiting game. Can't wait to have him with me. Are you going to go to the interview?

Hi, everyone I am new to this too. My husband interview is March 29 and I am wondering if I should go or not. Money is a big problem for us right now, but I would like to be there. The interview is in Guyana at 7am. I believe we have everything, but I don't know. Reading everyone views is making me nervous. I am a teacher and I don't know if I can get the days off. Hello everyone,
I sent letters to two senators and my local congressman. I haven't heard from them yet, but I logged onto the embassy status list and it says we are approved. I was so excited but there was some confusion in the posting so I called on Friday morning and they said we were in fact approved. My husband received his letter also on Friday so Monday he will be going to the embassy to get the VISA....I am so excited. I am not sure if the senators' offices made any calls, but I am so thankful. Now we just have to get him a ticket and he will be here by end of month...

I have a question for those of you whose husband's have already arrived. How soon after they arrived did their green card come in the mail and did their social securty card come right away also? My husband has a job already lined up but I am not sure how soon he can start due to the green card and social security card.
Thank you to all of you for your prayers and kind words....we will wait for a year or so and go back for our son...just can't leave him there, it will be a struggle but I am ready.
