    how many times does the AOS case be touched after the approval and how soon will it get delivered?

      They touched mine for what seemed like a million times before the card actually arrived, but at least with all the touches you know your card is on the way. Let us know when it arrives :)

      If your online status becomes post decision activity, it means they already sent your GC.

    "On September 1, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."...and it was back to "Post Decision Activity"...weird ;)

      Hey, nice work...I have a question - How did you get your drivers license without being Insured on any car here in the states ? In NC, you must be Insured on a car in your own name before you can apply to DMV for drivers license. Was this the same for you ?

      I have two insurance, one with the driving class (as a driver) and the other one is with my husbands (as a passenger). I am not sure if the DMV Colorado requires new drivers to be insured before seeking an instruction permit as I had mine with the school.

      It will be nice if you enroll to a driving school as they provide (lifetime) insurance and it will also help lower your auto insurance =)

    I got cleared with dmv tuesday wit USCIS/DHS and ICE...wonder if i will get my SSN card soon.

      I need to get my SSN tomorrow and need to start organizing my drivers licence, although I am driving on my one from home right now. Congrats on the Permit :)

      Sorry about this problem. I was told to get the SSN card as soon as possible after she came here or there would be problems. We only needed the visa and the passport. Everyone coming in with a K-1 should get their SSN and card as soon as possible after arrival to avoid these problems.

      it's fine...my yard looks better now after it was weeded that's why my hubby was happy but he is so pissed also with the situation with USCIS, DMV and SSA.

    hey, your from colorado, what issues with regard to SSN and DMV you had encountered here in Colorado...I am from the same state and had difficulty acquiring a driver's permit and SSN.

    i have stumbled upon one forum about SSN, is this true? "...i went to the Social Security Office (Head Quarters) this morning and i was told that i cant get a SSN until i receive the GC"

      hmm...then maybe they are just lazy and don't want to work lol the 24th is soon, and as soon as that is done I would go there and insist on my SSN...I don't see why they would make such a big deal out of it...silly

      They are lazy...try to go to another office. My husband was able to get his SSN with his EAD card & passport..we were only told to make sure it's been at least 10 days after the EAD card was issued.

      BTW, we also did an AOS...and we applied for his social the day b4 our interview! Again, go to another office.

    @hiswife, (continuation)...my case. There are people who doesn't do their jobs properly. They have asked for my proof, made a copy but I guess they never filed it...went to trash. When I talked to their manager, they asked for the same documents and filed it the second time. I guess with that incident, I will follow-up everyday until they give me good results.

    @hiswife, SSA and DMV office was a pain in the _______. They didn't tell me that we had to wait for 10 days. Instead they issued a letter stating that I have applied for it and they say that I am eligible. Now I am still sitting and waiting for results for both SSN and driver's permit. They say they will mail the results to me. I will not wait for that, been in and out of the offices t...

      thanks everyone...i badly needed it so i can function well as a wife...you know drive and get groceries on your own...work and have savings for the future...not a good idea to make people wait for too long...at least right now i can get a driver's license once i got my SSN tomorrow =)
