  1. download the forms and fill them out.

after the bills are paid print out your cover sheets. follow the online instructions provided in the payment portal and you should be good!

check out the items lists for IV and AOS in the guides sections!

Thank you! I guess that now I can go ahead and submit I-864. Still waiting for police certificate so DS-230 has to wait.

    Which country and which embassy?

I can provide you more info for India.

    Hi Deep2009,

I'm looking for info about the Islamabad embassy

  2. Hi,

My petition for my wife is in NVC stage as our I-130 has been approved.

I received the AOS Fee notice, paid it and now it appears paid. I also sent in DS-2032, which generated the IV Fee bill, which I've paid and its processing is pending.

My question is what is the next step? The unofficial online instructions are a bit confusing to me. Do I wait for them to send me the I-864 form or do I download one from their site and submit it? Similarly, once IV Fee bill is paid, do I wait for them to send me the DS-230 form or do I download one from their site and submit it?

    Thank you for your help!

  3. I'm happy for the women who found their partner. However, I'd be concerned if I were in their shoes to see if the marriage would last. You do not see a Pakistani man get married to an American woman who is 20 years younger than him. The large age difference cases always involve an American/Westerner being the older partner. While I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, it would be foolish to ignore the possibility that the younger person from the 3rd world country is only marrying for the opportunity to come to America. If that is the case, he/she (the younger person) will not stick around after he/she is here.

We all know numerous cases from 3rd world countries where sports teams went to developed countries for Olympics or Asian Games and, right after the games, half of the team failed to return, as they slipped to earn living as an illegal immigrant and send money back home.

I sincerely hope that both parties have honest intentions and that their marriage last forever and successfully.

  4. I filed on the 18th and it said it was received last night (Feb. 21st)...How that is possible since post is supposed to be delivered on a Sunday, I have no idea. I'm just waiting for a NOA which I'm hoping won't take a long time to arrive. I'm terrible at waiting and even more so for this. I has taken me wayyyyy tooooo long to file these papers. Looking at some of the other people's filing times, I'm beginning to feel (probably) foolishly optimistic. I know I will get hit with at least 1 RFE so more waiting is in my future.

Good luck to everyone else in February. Hopefully we will all be able to join the league of "lucky ones who can be with their loved ones".

Also waiting for the NOA1. Sent my app on Feb 16

  5. Hi,

I'm a naturalized US Citizen who is trying to bring his spouse, living outside US, to America. I noticed that there has been some recent changes (as shown in bold on this page http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...ypes_2993.html) in the immigration process to I'd like to get your input of my understanding.

    1) I just mailed the I-130 form along with necessary documents today.

    2) I'll wait for NOA (I-797) to be sent to me.

    3) Now, do I still file for I-129F (K-3 visa), which includes sending a copy of NOA? It seems that, effective Feb 1, 2010, the application process has changed.

I've copied the relevant text here

    Page: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_2993.html

    Text:

"Important Notice: Effective February 1st, 2010, when both the I-129F petition for a nonimmigrant K visa and the I-130 petition for an IR-1 (or CR-1) spouse of a U.S. citizen visa have been approved by USCIS and sent to the National Visa Center (NVC), the availability as well as the need for a nonimmigrant K-3 visa ends. If the NVC receives both petitions:

    * The nonimmigrant K visa will be administratively closed.

    * The application process explained below will not be applicable and cannot be used.

    * The NVC will contact the petitioner and you with instructions for processing your IR-1 (or CR-1) immigrant visa. For more information on the immigrant visa process review the Immigrant Visa for a Spouse webpage."

Please advise. Thank you very much in advance for your help!
