  1. We only had 27 pics for 9 yrs relationship, and there was only one pic that my wife was with my family, and there was none that I am with her family.

However IO didn't even see one pic. As far as I understand, she was very satisfied with story of 9 yrs relationship that I explained, (how and where we met, how we kept relationship, and when and how I proposed etc...) plus we have not had wedding crememony yet.

It is all up to IOs, we could have got red flag if IO were someone else.

Sorry to hear about your story, but we all hope that you will get approval soon.

  2. > davaocitygirl and kittens_0117,

I am not if this may help you to feel better.

3-5 months is now normal processing time for AOS. So you would be lucky if you get GC before that and it is normal if you get it in normal processing time.

I understand everyone has different situation, but bottom line is we want it qucik so bad.

I applied for my wife's GC through VWP which is risky, but had to do with it since I am leaving US for 9 months due to business trip to India, this was sudden offer from the company, so I forced her to come to US and help to maintain all belongings. She quit the job and left everything as is in Japan. We have lived sepratly for 5 yrs and had planed to process AOS in proper way. (CR-1), but had to change at last moment. She has been struggling US life coz she can't work, she can't open her own bank account and she can't go back home in Japan when she wants or she has to till get GC.

We used to argue a lot, till the point we started doing something to forget about GC. (Picnic, BBQ, going out and surfing etc..) and finally came to the point "Let it be" "It is what it is" kinda thing. I know it is easy to say, but hard to do. Overall experience during waiting time even though we have not received one yet, but this waiting actually help our relationship better as we both moved toward to same goal, shared emotional moment, and talked each other your mind from bottom of heart.

We both didn't worry at all at interveiw, not even at waiting room, coz we had confident and we already made up our mind to do whatever it takes for both of us to be together, maybe move back to Japan or go somewhere etc... for just in case of denial.

Again, Everyone here is moving towards to same goal, so we all understand each other, we all want help each other and we all successfully receive GC.

Thanks for your time reading my comment.

  3. Hello, Feb Filers

I had interview yesterday and thought some of you might be interested in my story.

When we arrived at Federal building around 13:00, there wasn’t long line, but was moving slow.

We got into the building around 13:20 and turned in our appointment letter at window.

There were roughly 40 people in the room.

We were called around 14:10 (Our appointment was for 13:45).

It was Hawaiian lady. I am Japanese American with dark skin, so look like Hawaiian, we got married in Hawaii, We have been to Hawaii many times, and we will have wedding ceremony in Hawaii, so good indication!!

After sworn out, IO asked us to see if we had another supporting document that we want to submit, and I told her that I have pictures (I ran to CVS early in the morning on this day for one hour photo), she said that she would check later, but as a result she never checked. She started off normal question’ Where and When did you guys meet?” I answered and she seemed to be satisfied, except 9 yrs relationship… that she wanted to know more, “Why did you wait to get married till now? , was her parents happy about marriage? , who put effort to keep relationship etc… “ not as seem like IO's sound, it was more likely questions from frined and relatives, just one word, “OUT OF CURIOSITY” This took most part of our interview, as she was checking I-485, she threw couple questions to my wife, just confirmation of info that were on I-485, and when IO reached to my wife’s passport, she pulled her I-94 out, as you know, it is another good sign, and she said, "I will give you a residency card" , and I acted like nothing, and looked at my wife, she looked like she didn’t hear anything (She actually missed that one), so I thought I mis-heard this or something, coz it was still middle of interview. Tought too early to be informed.

We had little bit of problem with address on our both driver’s license that still show our parent’s house address. She just briefly explained how it could be a problem.

Overall, I felt like that we were talking with my grandma, she pointed out and addressed how marriage life should be and husband treats his wife etc…

At the end of meeting, she printed out a letter and stamped for approval.

It was long journey and I really think that we could not accomplish without everyone’s help here, so I greatly appreciated all help and encouragement I got from you guys.

I hope that I would see your successful stories shortly, too.

  5. This is just for your tip, may not apply all cases.

No matter what rule is except it is criminial cases involved or some other serious cases, you may be forgiven such as overstay and unauthorized working histories etc.... by AOS with USC.

Emphasize::::: this is just based on my friend's experiences I have seen. Some others might have rejected due to above.

Just wanted to give little hope to you.

AOS from VWP is prohibited anyway, but I am taking it. I sometimes still think that I should have taken proper step.....

Hope that you'd be able to figure out the best way.

    Good Luck!!

  6. Hello,

Generally speaking, AOS process usually takes 3-5 months until you recieve GC. I think that you are still head of time or at least on schedule.

It really depends on timing and location where you're local AOS office is.

We all understand how much you worry about, but pretty much what we can tell is "To wait" unless you are under speical circumstance where you have to make an action which you are not, I assume.

Hope that you'll get interveiw latter shortly and being relieved little bit.

    Thanks,

  7. Thank you, Saspk!I was wondering where you are! :)

Just a quick update: TODAY I have received my Green Card in the mail!!!What a relief...I am done with USCIS for a while!!yay!Good luck everybody!

    Juliava,

Congrats!!! I am very proud of you.

I am at little less than a week to my interview. It is true love, so we shouldn't worry about, vut I believe everyone has always thought of "What if?"

However you enchoraged me a lot, not sure if I can fight like you did in worst senario, don't even want think about now, but at least you proved that we can fight back and win!!

    Thanks for sharing your story.

  8. Hello,

Please allow me to add my question on this topic.

My wife does not have SSN yet, and I think that she'll get GC first. (There is only "touched" on I-765 on March 23rd, and it is still at "Initial Review").

Would she being able to start working if she could get a stamp at interveiw before she gets SSN?

I would assume that she would get GC if approved a week to 10 days from day of interview, but she may have to start working at a new job before she gets SSN.

Or does anyone know that SSN could be issued by the office by providing a stamp on passport?

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

  9. Hello,

It is not a secret that Early walk in for Bio could be accepted, but some people still get rejected sometimes and I wanted to shared some tip from my experience.

I am USC petitioner for my wife and I did Bio 3 times. (last one was for my wife's case)

1, GC renewal - 5 years ago, I went there around noon time with early walk-in. There were literally no one, so accepted.

2, Naturalization - a year ago, I went there around noon time with early walk-in again. There were literally no one, so accepted.

3, GC - about a month ago, she went there around noon time with early walk-in. There were literally no one, so accepted.

    No questions were even asked.

It could depend on your AOS office, but as all people know about early walk-in, people tend to go to AOS office first thing in the morning.

However USCIS take consideration of size of office and number workers there, and distribute applicants to be taken bio in timely manner (so they say), so technically there should be same number of people in room anytime you go there.

My case, no one there when I and my wife showed up at AOS office in noon time, it seems like most of people showed up first thing in the morning, includes people who had an appointment on same day, but later.

This is just based on my experience, so it may not work to all, but might be worse give a try if you were rejected once.

    Good Luck all!!

  10. where do you get the "touched" notifications?

Are they from the email/text service you can sign up for?

    Hi, Jscoope

Unless you filed I-751 along with I-130 and I-485, you would not receive email / text notification.

However you can still sign up at USCIS website to set this up afer you receive NOAs, there are receipt numbers on each applications.

I did sign up, but never received any updated email nor text.

    Good Luck!!

  11. Hello Hello,

My interview is about 2 weeks from today, and I stop bothering to check my case on USCIS web.

There is only one person who received EAD before the interview in Feb filers.

There is no update from March 23rd.

    I-130 - Acceptance

    I-485 - Initial Review

    I-765 - Initial Review

In recent study, it still shows average time to receive GC (family base) is 3-6 months ecept San Diego (60 days, wow).

I was targeting 3 months anyway, so can't complain my situation.

And it seems like other March filers also received the interview letter, so it should be good indication.

Human manual works faster than system update!!!

  12. @Nartaki and @Alla

Hey, I sincerely appreciate your help. However, I don't appreciate treating me like an idiot.

So, let me restate what I said initially, and instead of assuming fault or stupidity on my part, just let me know if I should have gotten the return receipt by this time.

I have sent the I-130 concurrently with I-485 for an AOS by certified mail. In order to get a return receipt, it is required to have delivery confirmation (which includes signature confirmation). So, through the prerequisites of a return receipt (i.e., checking online), I know that USCIS received my March 28th-sent package on March 31st. However, to this day, I have not yet received the return receipt (a physical copy which I requested).

So, has anyone else requested a return receipt, and if so, should it take this long to get it when it only took three days to send the package?

Thanks, and I do appreciate any and all help!

I got mine like 3 weeks after my package was delivered, even after I received my Bio appointment letter.

Not sure how important for you to have it, it is just what it is, receipt....

But I am sure that you will have it shortly.

  13. Hello all,

Just received interview appointment letter today, Yay!!

As far as I can tell, even though I read poeple's comment about early Bio walk in, most people said that it would only work to EAD process quicker, but at least my case, it did make CG process quicker since a letter was mailed out on 30th which my original Bio appoinment was 31st.

Hope all other March filer receive a inteview letter soon.

  14. Hello guys!!

I have a little potential problem and would like to confirm.

I have sent my package for wife's GC and it was delivered on 03/01.

Check was cashed on 03/09, but I have not received AOS yet.

It seems like, as far as I read all filer's record, most of people received AOS next day check was cashed. I don't worry about this since Visa processing is a waiting game, but I worry about is that all letter from immigration office can only be delivered to mail box (I live in apartment) with shown my wife's name. My wife keeps her last name for now due to timing issue, and label on my mail box only shows my last name, so we might have missed AOS. I already asked apartment manager to have new lable with her last name as well.

Would this impact to any of my processing if AOS was returned to them.

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

  15. Hey, Hey

I mailed out my package for my wife's GC on 02/27 and it got delivered on 03/01.

Check (personal check) was cashed on 03/09, but I have not received letter of recipt yet.

As far as I checked (thanks to all VJ), your situation is nothing to be suprised.

It is a Waiting Game, buddy. Let's wait.

We're all in different circumstances, like my case, I will leaving to my long business trip to oversea, so I need it very bad, but came to the point where I am like " Let it be"....

Anyway we all move toward to same goal !!!
