Sorry, about the interview. It is a rough patch but hopefully you will be able to convince them of approval.

Was the difficulty in answering the questions due to a language barrier as English may not be the first language? Or simply because they were nervous under scrutiny?

The answers do not make sense. How can the first time you met be in 2015 but got married in 2013? Zip code is not important. City is important.

Hopefully you will get another chance at a second interview. Please work with your spouse and train them on how to make eye contact while answering, how answer in a complete sentence, how to express genuineness and build a rapport with the interviewer etc.

The problem is we did filed I-751 in May 2017 and get denied in Jan 2019. Due to lack of evidence (bank statements, lease agreement, phone bill, pictures since he came to US until present). So my husband hired an immigration legal assistance to file another I-751 in Feb 2019 and has interview on the 7th of Jan,2020. Update: the interviewer ask:

-Beside the lawyer did you ever pay anyone to do this application for you? And my husband say: NO (the Office that help my husband is an Immigration Service not a Law firm)

-Where do you work? My husband just pull out his wallet and give the interviewer his work business card.

Uhm that’s kind of ... bad. Those are the very very basic questions and he got those all wrong? His home address he doesn’t remember? Nor does the year he met his wife? And what else in the “blah blah blah”

You were lucky they didn’t separate the two of you for Stokes interview right there.

Can you recall all the questions or approximately how many questions were asked and how many he got wrong?

Its mostly basic Yes/ No questions , probably around 20 question total. And these is the one he answer wrong:

-When is your wedding?: uhm..uhm..i guess uhm 26, 26 of march ......uhm 2013

(Ask again twice and still given same date)(16/10/2013)√

-When you two first meet?: this one i know April 15, 2015 (ask again)(15/04/2010)√

Where do you live?: (fogot city and zip code) look over me and ask for zip code, i just give a sign that cant help, then he said: Thats okay

-Do you deposit your work check in your joint account?: sometimes i deposit in sometimes i need cash so i cashed it out

-After you enter the US did you still with the same marriage?: No ( ask again twice and slowly) No. (Ask one more time word by word) i am marry before and already divorced and i marry my wife

-What is your father inlaw address?: umh..umh (search thru all paperwork, that is our mailing address and it on all the paper infront of him)

Plus some question he give unnecessary info.

  3. Hi, my husband has his interview for I-485 on Jan 07, 2020. Unfortunately he gave the wrong wedding date and the year we first met, plus he forgot our home address too blah..blah..blah. The interviewer only question my husband while i am sitting next to him. After the interview we were told to go home and wait for notice in the mail. My question and concerns are there possibility my husband get denied for his green card? Thanks
