My wife became permanent resident along with my step daugther little over five years ago.
Now, we are thinking of applying for N-400 (for my wife).
I am a US Citizen and I have not officially adopted my step daughter yet.
I know this must be a pretty common scenario...would somebody tell me what needs to be done for my daughter ?

Yes, it was cashed by CSC...on the back the endorsing stamp says CSC....the hand printed WAC number on the front is not very readable.
We will wait for the NOA1 to come in the mail.
I am sure everybody's will come soon now.

Our check cleared after 45 days.
We had sent our I-751 app on the very last day...on 7/29/07
TSC recd it on 7/31/07
and
the check cleared on 9/6/07
**** after 45 days *****
Good news is --- they seem to be at the very end of the bulk apps they recd.
I need to update my old signature...but gives error that it is too long...I need to do it the new way, I guess.
Thanks to all of you for being there !

I have some good news...
our check for I-751 is cashed after 45 days at TSC.
I know I need to update my signature etc.....but here is the missing info --
July 29, 2007 : Mailed I-751
7/31/2007 : TSC recd it
**** Check cashed on 9/6/2007 ----> after 45 days !
I think, USCIS / TSC is quite close to clearing the stack of applications they recd...at the very end of July or early August ...

Also, folks...keep the criticism and snide remarks to a minimum !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please !!!!!!!!
We all are here as we need help.......everybody is here to either get help or to help others.
some are more organized than others...some are better at this than others...but all of us have families, kids, jobs / business etc.
It is okay to point out some obvious errors and ommissions of others...but, it helps to give positive constructive advice
and not swing at each other! Just my 2 cents.....now, do not throw bricks at me !!!!!!!!!!!

Our check is still not cashed...I hoping it does in a day or so.
Any update from anybody else ?
Is there anybody who sent in I-751 to TSC in late July still waiting for the check to cash ?
thanks.

How does one check if the application was touched ?
We sent in our I-751 more than 5 weeks ago...and the check has not been cashed.
What do I need to have and where do I see that the app. is touched ?
thanks.

Well, you will get a lot of info from others on this site.
The first step is NOT to get engaged and NOT to get married on F1.
Besides, that...it may be a good idea to establish a separate place / apt. for you....and then start the process as if it is a new friendship leading to engagement. That is my very early / preliminary advice. You will get a lot of good advice soon.

Yes, please provide the exact timeline of everything so far.
In any case, you would need to be sure what was sent when, what reply (RFE) was received when and
what is the present exact status of your case. Any / all of us can help you based on that timeline.
Both of you would need to have a clear idea what was filed & when. Please maintain a complete file of all your records / application and replies.

Hi,
We also filed in late July in Texas....just on the last day of increase of fees...our check is not yet cashed. It is about four weeks now. Are there others like us who are waiting for about 4 weeks now ?
Will calling USCIS help ? We do not have any case # yet.
Thanks.
-
Hey, Sorry, I just saw that your appointment date is July 6th.
So as you said about 5 weeks after you mailed the I-751.

Bon voyage
Hi, I received NoA-2 right now. My biometrics appointment is on July 6th, so it takes just 5 weeks to my case.
Hi, thanks, that helps to get an idea. Good luck to you.
So, what appointement date have you got ?

Hi,
This is the general process...please try, it should work.
To remove the EAC number, click on edit and it will let you edit your prior typing...delete the numbers and post again.

Hello All,
About how long it is taking in Texas Service Center after one submits I-751 ? My wife is going to be out of the country but I wanted to send out the I-751 while she is traveling abroad.
thanks, Shawn
-
Okay, thanks , So there is no problem to travel.

Hello All,
My wife's two years conditional permanent residency expires on Sept 15, 2007. We are putting together the I-751 application now and will be submitting that in about a month (say July). I-751 (Conditions to remove can be applied 90 days before the expiry of 2 years).
The questions I have are :
1. She plans to travel abroad in July and be back in August. The Permanent Resident card expires in Sept (9/15/07). She will be back in August. Is there a problem (or what do we need to do other than having her Perm. Res. card with her when she returns).
2. Is there a restriction in travel abroad during the two years ?
thanks,
Shawn

yes, it is a long journey.
you can go and visit...and see if it clicks,
but remember about different culture / religion and see it in real terms of a life long journey.
It is harder to get visas from certain parts of the world as you know.
K-1 route is best for you (if it clicks between you two)....as in that case, you are not married...and would be required to marry within 90 days after he comes here. Marrying there in Eygpt does not guarantee anything (by way of K-3 route).
Wish you best.

Hello All,
Well, I found the answer.
the perm residency was granted in Sep '05 (not 2006 as I wrote in my original post above, that was a typo).
It is 2 years from Sept 2005...so till 2007. 90 days prior to Sep 2007 one needs to file I-751.

Hello Everybody,
This site has been a huge help to us....
I just noticed that we need to file for removing conditions.
The form says "You should apply during the 90 days before your second anniversary as a conditional resident.".
Sorry folks, if answer to this question is on the forms / forums....
What date is considered for anniversary ? Do we need to file 90 days before the second anniversary of
(1) wedding in US....for us this was in July 2004
(2) conditional permanent residency (Green card) status date ...for us this was in Sept 2006?
Thanks!
Shawn

You say you have "moved to Texas for good". That does not tell us what visa are you on, did you leave in 2012 and return in 2013 ?
May be I do not know the context of your question but it will help if you provide more information.
