Yes ofcourse you can get a GC through VAWA, based on an approved I360 petition. but you will be called for an interview.

Hello everyone,

I just received an email from USCIS that they have mailed me a RFE. I had applied for VAWA in mid-Feb 2011. I'm really nervous now. I do not know what they are asking for. I hope I have it. I hope they look at my case positively. I'm scared. Does anyone have any tips/ideas about responding to a RFE? Please help.

I went through the same, do not be afraid, they asked me twice for RFE, once right after i send the i 360, 2nd time after 5 month, as soon as I send my papers back whatever they were asking after 54 days i got aprooval.

Just be patient, it is the hard to go through, but we do not have choice......... good luck

I HAD MY INTERVIEW ON AUGUST 2ND FOR ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS UNDER APPROVED I360, EVERYTHING WENT FINE EXCEPT MY COURT DECISION WAS "ADMINISTRATIVELY CLOSED" INSTEAD OF TERMINATED, SO OFFICER TOLD

US (ME AND MY LAWER) HE DID NOT HAVE JURICE DICTION OVER IT TO GIVE ME APPROVAL SO REFERRED US TO GO BACK TO COURT TO FINALIZE THE DECISION, WHICH WE DID ON SEPTEMBER 13TH,

WE HAD COMPLETED THE PROCESS AND I GUESS THE IMMIGRATION COURT NOTIFIED THE USCIS LOCAL OFFICE ABOUT IT.

I CHECKED MY ONLINE STATUS AND GOT THE FOLLOWING STATUS ONLINE:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On September 20, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

ON SECOND DAY THE STATUS HAD CHANGED AGAIN AND IT SAID:

On September 21, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

8 month and 2 weeks after my interview my journey is finally over. Today I received an email update that my card production has been ordered.

CONGRATULATIONS AND ALL THE BEST!!!! :dance: I'M VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!

What you can do is put in a service request by calling USCIS. They will check if you are out of the timeline and check on your case. Or so they say you never know. If it gives you peace of mind call, nothing wrong with it. Try to take it easy and get back to your life.

thanks for your advise, in fact my lawyer called uscis and they answered that if we do not receive anything in 60 days call again, they said also that will make a note on my file, since then no reply by mail so far.......... I do not know what's going on........ from approval it's been 9 month already.......... why it takes so long to scedule the appointment?

If you applied for i-485 and the EAD together it is perfectly normal. From there you receive your biometrics appointment, file is being reviewed, and then it is being send out to another benefit center or send to the local office of your state if an interview is needed. No need to panic.

Thank you for replying, yes I filed my i485 and i765 together in October 2010, I did receive my biometrics appointment in November 2010, and got the EAD in December, but from the filing my i 485 it's passed more the 4 month is that normal? beacuse on uscis page when I was looking at timetable it says 4 month for adjustment of status, that's why I'm little worried.

How long did it take to approve your I360? Did you have an I485 pending or did you apply for a new one?

MY CASE TOOK 11 MONTHS FOR APPROVAL, I SENT MY I360 IN JUNE 2009 AND IT WAS APPROVED IN MAY 2010, ALSO THEY SENT ME 2 RFE'S DURING THIS TIME.

I FILED MY I485 IN OCTOBER 2010 TO CHICAGO LOCK-BOX AND THEY TRANSFERRED IT TO NATIONAL BENEFIT CENTER.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY TRANSFERRED IT TO NATIONAL BENEFIT CENTER.

I took the time to read this blog from page 1 to right now and what I noticed is that most members got their interview 1 month after VAWA was approved . Call infopass and find out why is it taking so long.

Thanks for replying, my lawyer's office called me today and they told me that called to USCIS and the uscis rep made the note on my case file and I'll be receiving something in mail(i hope it's interview notice) if we wouldn't hear from them in 60 days we have to call again. prepare ur self for INTEND TO DENY ,the same thing hapened to .the approval come befor 45 days for sure after that the officer is prepare the intend to deny .i got it after 56 days after sending RFE .u can work hard and resolve ur case its easy just fix what is wrong .

TODAY I GOT E MAIL NOTIFICATION THAT MY CASE WAS APPROVED AND I WILL RECEIVE THE NOTICE SOON BY MAIL. :dance: I'M SO HAPPY ..... IT WAS SUCH A LONG ROAD........... BUT GOD IS WITH US, AND WILL BE ALWAYS.......

I just read your post, i have exectly same situation after 2nd RFE they updated my status and will contact me within 60 days......... nothing yet it will be 60 days on may 12th. if anybody knows, if they went through the same steps please answer me, i'm so nervous........ 2 RFE'S AND NO PRIMA FACIE RENEWAL.....
