  1. Over cautious questions !

    1) Do I need to write my case number LDN<number> on the DS230-I or will they just match it up by name?

    2) Do I need to send parts of the DS230 at the same time? or do I not send the 2nd part at all?

    3) How risky is sending the checklist back without having a few of the key documents ready at the moment. (Joint sponsors I864 etc).

    1) They do not need your LDN № on form 230.

    2) It does not matter. You can send DS230-II or bring whith you on interview as well. The important thing is do not sing this form. You will do it in front of consular officer.

    3) My advice to send the cheklist ASAP and write in a date of travel. Looks like they pay attention to this to give you sooner date of interview. But you still have minimum 3 weeks to get the answer and 5 weeks until the interview.

  2. Hello all - I too am a fellow london DCF - we sent the initial I-130 Jan 2010. Anyway I am a bit late signing up to VJ but I do have a question.

I got the packet three letter from London and I am awaiting my police check back. I am also awaiting my joint sponsors paperwork to come to me in the post (they are in US so this will take a couple of weeks max). My question is - am I safe to send in my DS-2001 and checklist now even though I dont have the above documents in my hand? It seems like the wait to interview is currently very loooooooong so I am assuming I would def have both of the above documents by the time my inerview date comes around.

Or do you think to be on the safe side I should wait until I physically have these things before sending DS-2001?

Do not wait, sent DS-2001 immediately. We send our in March 6 and got the packet 4 in March 19. But my interview date is only May 6. We have not got a tax returns but still have plenty of time to be prepared for interview.

  3. Hello!

I have received packet 4 today from the Embassy. My interview date is 6th of May. We are living in Scotland at the moment and my fiance would love to attend the interview with me. We have almost 2 year old daughter which we have to take with us:-) Most of the time she is a well behaved toddler, I think it will be actually entertaining for her, but she might get bored plus I need to take drink/food for her. Has anyone had a similar situation ? Has anyone took the toddler at similar age to the Embassy?

We went with her to the US consulate in Edinburgh and we didn't experience problems over there, but I don't know how it looks like in London...

I had my medical booked for 23rd of March, but due to BA strike I had to cancel my appointment today. Knowing my interview date, I would like to book my medical closer to my interview date.I have noticed that majority of people have the medical done long before the interview.Do I have to have the medical done 4-5 days before to have a guarantee results for my interview? Did anyone have their medical done for example 2 days before the interview?

    Thank you for your advises

I am in similar situation and have the same question. I received packet 4 two days ago. My interview date is 6th of May too. We plan to take with us one year old boy. Any advice?

  4. Hi Reow-- congrats on the NOA2! Very exciting!! Our I-130 approval date was Feb 12th, and we got Packet 3 in the mail on Feb 19th-- hopefully that step will be as speedy for you as it was for us. We called on the 19th to book the medical, and were given the first available date of March 4th.

Hi everyone! Mine timeline looks pretty much the same. We got a letter on Feb 19th that our I-130 approved Feb 12th. And today we got other letter with my case number. Going to send our DS-230 and DS-2001 before the week is out and book the medical as soon as possible.

  5. Hi elmcitymaven!

I'm having fun so far navigating through the ins and outs of the UK DCF process. Here's a partial list, looking over the threads from recent weeks, of who is filing DCF in London now (or will be soon). Any updates from anyone? Problems/Successes to report?

Should anyone else be on the list?:
