  1. I did in Bellflower, CA and was successful. I came around 3:15 pm and the room is empty. One filipina did it in LA and was successful too, she came around in the afternoon, since the office was not busy they took her in. Goodluck

Hey, so you got your biometics info right after you got your NOA1? We're wondering if they also send info by email or only mail. We got our NOA1 on the 17th September and that's all. I am nervous about missing my appointement. Any advice on that? Thanks, Irina

  2. Yes, she definitely needs it. I obtained mine right after my fianc'e got the approval and yes, it makes sense to get one. It didn't cost me a thing. I came to the Main department of Internal affairs in my home city, it was on Monday, the 15th March, signed some papers and requested for some documents that will certify I don't have convictions in my past and that I have never been a prostitue and blah blah blah. I came back next Monday to get it. It was ready and singed and it had a stamp and a signature of the person who was in charge of composing it. Simple as that. So I strongly recomment you to tell your girl she needs to go to her local department called GUVD (she knows what it it) and then when she will get it from them, make sure it will be translated from Russian into English. I got mine translated today. By the way,I contacted the US Embassy in Moscow and they reassured me it's valid a year! So good luck! P.S. That document (police certificate) is marked as a MANDATORY one (it was marked on a piece of paper I got from the US Embassy in a yellow envelope)! She might be facing problems and delay if she refuses to bring one with her to her interview!

  3. Hi there,

I am convinced it is better if your parter (who is a U.S. citizen) emails them. In any case that is what we did! Good luck and let us know if they got your case because they have not emailed us yet. We got approved on the 8th March :)

  4. you need to click on the link below. 400 dollars are for different visa. You are looking for a Fiance visa so just click on the link below.

    http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/non-immigrant_visas.html

Once you get married in the US, the adjustment fee is 1010 dollars.

Oh Goodness, can it be USD1010? Pffff.... not cheap, but oh well.. We will think about it later. But regarding that visa fee change. I have heard that someone had to pay USD350 at the US Embassy in Moscow. At least it is more than certain those guys sent packets 3 with that sum of money mentioned in invitations and some people got scammed I guess.. But I hope they won't increase it anytime soon...

  5. Hi all,

My question is do anyone know when USCIS starts processing petitions and documents after getting them? Is everything being put in boxes right away or how do they sort through the petitions?

When they put Initial Review, does it mean that FBI already starts checking petitioners' backgrounds or nothing happens for a couple of weeks or months until they decide to look through documents. Our idea is after they get petitions and attached documents, they verify them and put Acceptance. After that, they insert some essential information into their system and it is now marked as Initial Review and FBI starts checking backgrounds right away. And then we all want.... For weeks or months. Then CSC or VSC get responds from FBI and simply put them aside until the right time comes for them to look through those documents again?!

We understand that we are all not aware of how it exactly works, but maybe some of you can share some ideas with us, please.

    Thanks heaps in advance!

  6. Hi All, I hope everyone is have a Great weekend so far!

Well my question is that I sent my original Birth certificate along with a copy of it with my I-129F petition on Jan 15th. USCIS just sent my Original back to me on 3rd of March. does anyone have any experience with this? Does this mean that my Fianc'ee and I are now close to getting a Decision from them?

    thank you,

    S+I

  7. Guys, it is such a curious moment about experience you had with your VJ timeline. Could you please tell us how reliable it was and how close it was to your NOA2 dates? We are trying to figure out if we can trust it to at least 60%. We are all well aware of how long this whole process might be, but it would be nice and useful to hear about it from YOU who already have so much wanted NOA2!

Your personal experience is much appreciated! :star:

  8. I was just thinking the same thing if there is a chance that the US citizen could not have a job then it might be a good idea to start preparing for a cosponser. Here is a thread that has links to the poverty guidelines for the affidavit of support I134. There are other threads on the cosponser process.

Thanks guys for your assistance and advice! :)

  9. Thankies ;) But seriously is there a chance to delete it?! Sorry,I guess I am still shocked and I now did a silly thing. I need to slap myself and calm down...Sigh...

Hi! The I-129F instructions states that you should have met within 2 years of filing the petition:

You may file this petition if: You and your fiancé(e) intend to marry within 90 days of your fiancé(e) entering the United States, and are both free to marry, and have met in person within two years before your filing of this petition unless

You can check the instructions here - http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

My fiance (now husband) only met twice before we filed our I-129F petition too. Before filing, we first met in June 2008 then the last time we were together was December 2008 to the first few days of January 2009. We filed in February 2009. Our petition was approved without any RFEs in 47 days from our NOA date. :)

Thank you tons! I know I panic a lot sometimes but I guess with CO you never know what to expect :( I will check those instructions once more :D

  10. Dear all,

I know this might be totally silly to you,but is there a chance to get a visa rejection only because my fiance and I met only 2 times in 2009. I work for an airline and today I found out that I am laid off. We still have a chance to meet in Canada or Europe, and I can have discounted but stand-by tickets for Air Canada for example to fly to meet Scotty in Vancouver, but from the 1st May I won't have that chance anymore. Scotty has some sort of 50-50 chances of being laid off too, so I don't want to risk his job especially because we have not obtained our NOA2.

Can a CO possibly tell us his/her decision is negative simply because we met for the last time in Nov,2009? Scotty thinks that according to information in I-129F it is written we MUST meet at least twice, so we are on a safe side, but I am freaked out that stubborn Moscow CO might say no to me!

What are our chances? Any advice is appreciated!

  11. My thoughts exactly. However, since there has been no "official" ruling yet, I'm kind of wondering if there is some unscrupulous consulates out there that might try and take advantage of this period of uncertainty ... <_<

Congrats to Jess and Liberty on those NOA2s!! CSC isn't doing too bad :D

Unfortunately American Consulate in Moscow started charging people more and those guys cannot even issue proper notice, they just take pens and charge everything manually on official letters they sent to applicants. So retarded!

  12. I went to the site and read the " Proposed Rule Making " ... anytime they propose a change, they have to have a public comment period. In this case it was for 60 days. If I remember correctly they made the proposal about 14 December 2009 .... so I think that puts the end of the comment period about the first week in February ( like now ) In the proposal they stated to be implemented " as soon as possible " after the period ..... soooo I am thinking shortly it is going to be $350 :crying:

It is such an unfair decision, they know we pay alot for everything and now they want to increase the fee. Ridiculous and totally sad... Nothing else to add. My Irish friends and Scots wrote them emails, I joined them, but I don't think that will help to stop them from making that decision
