  1. Hi,

    The questions were ruthless asked and I am sorry I cant get into details here.

    I am just preparing for the worst here.

    Lets say , I got denied.What are my consequences ? I understand my GC is right away terminated. What would happen to my visa status in the time period I file for a appeal or a motion to reopen?. It would really help if you could answer this question.

    Thanks a lot,

    HI CR1Visa,

    Can you please give details of your interview. What did the officer said and what questions he asked?

    Detail will help us understand more.

    Regards

  2. Hi,

    My marriage was a religious ceremony perfomed in a traditional way. We have pictures in a party after the marriage event. I submitted wedding pics, affidavits and a joint credit card we shared.

    I have not lived enough with ex to secure joint lease or any other joint stuff.Length of marriage was close to a year but duration in US was less than a month

    Let me know..

    When you appeal to a judge after a denial, what legal status will I be in?

    HI CR1Visa,

    Please provide details of the evidence you provided for I-751.

    What was the length of the marriage?

    Was your marriage a religious ceremony or court marriage?

    Did you provide any pictures of being together?

    Thanks

  3. Hi All,

    I had a very bad I-751 waiver interview mainly because of the fact that my ex sent some seemingly false allegations about me (just in writing, no proof) . The interviewer said that he will need to look again and make a decision but it sounded more like a denial to me.

    I just want me to be more prepared in the event i get a denial letter and be placed in removal proceedings because of lack of sufficient evidence to prove good faith marriage(I dont have joint leases or joint bank statements - marriage was very short)

    What are my options here?

    Will I have to leave the country immediately after receiving the letter

    I will be out of status.What would happen to be status if i file a motion to appeal or re-open I-751 case?

    My current husband is on H1 - I am not sure if H4 would be that easy at this point.

    I am wondering if there can be any "interim" status i can be in before I prove to the immigration judge that my marriage was real

    Any help is appreciated...

    Thanks a lot.

  4. Hi All,

    My I-751 waiver(divorce waiver) case was filed in Aug 2011. I have had 2 rounds of biometrics since then. My case status on the USCIS website is never updated.I received a RFE to which a response has been sent 2 months back. My lawyer got the FedEx delivery confirmation too. A month back, I get a letter saying that the USCIS has not received any response.My lawyer went and resent the RFE and again got a delivery confirmation.I have no idea if the USCIS received the package this time

    I have raised service requests, talked to customer care and made info pass appointments, emailed VSC but to no avail.

    anybody has any idea what to do at this point?I have heard people talking about getting congressman in their state involved.I live in CA and I am not sure how to approach this?

    Any ideas please??

  5. Unfortunately, for the short duration of time (2 weeks) - i have not received any postal mail addressed to both of us.

    There is one certification i did to help with the family business.The records associated with that certification have my ex's address on it. This is the only evidence if it helps.

    I have already sent joint credit card statements but somehow i still get a RFE for a joint lease ( we lived in a house and never in an apartment)

    Not sure what to do.

  6. Hi All,

    I have filed a I-751 divorce waiver back in Aug 2011. 2 days back i received a RFE requesting for more documents on the below:

    o Leases in both names showing joint occupancy; or deeds and mortgages in both names showing joint ownership;

    o Joint checking and savings account;

    o Joint Insurance policies ;

    o Joint utility bills;

    o Joint credit card account statements; and

    o Wills or Power of Attorney showing you and your former spouse had made estate planning arrangements with each other.

    I have already sent strong evidence comprising of marriage photos and dvds.However,since my ex and i lived in a house (for about 2 weeks only)ownned by his mom- i have no evidence of any joint leases or utility bills.

    I really do not know how to proceed.

    Any help is appreciated

  7. Hello July 2011 Filers,

    Has anyone filed a I-751 Divorce waiver and received a approval letter without an interview?

    Can you guys tell me if an interview is mandatory before getting a waiver approved?

    I filed on Aug 22, 2011 and my biometrics was on 10/24 . Havent heard anything from the USCIS yet. Still anxious.

    Please share your experiences.Appreciare your help.

  8. Hi,

    Is there anyway i know whether USCIS has ordered SSN production or not?(even though it is unlikely).It is possible that my ex is holding me from it(if it has arrived to his address).I changed my address in USCIS database and they have the rightaddress.I received the welcome letter to the rightaddress but not the greencard(not sure what happened with it).Or is going to SSN office onlyway to find out if they ever touched my record/mailed it?

    Thanks,

    I would save the trip until after you have the divorce decree and then go to SSA with proof of divorce and confirm that SSA records are only in your Maiden name. If not then you can make the change with your divorce decree.

    RE: SSN & DS-230, it's not uncommon for USCIS to not automatically order your SSN neither my wife or son got theirs without us making the trip to local SSA...

  9. Hi Guys,

    I worked in US on L1 Visa 2 years back and left.Now I got married to a USC and arrived on a greencard.We applied for a replacement SSN in the form DS-230 but I didnot receive it.I-9(Employment Eligibility form )says I will be good with I-551 passport stamp(my greencard has been lost in mail ,applied for replacement)

    I need some advise.I know SSN will be used for taxfiling purposes.But the name on my SSN card is maiden name.Unfortunately I am getting divorced and getting the divorce decree in a month.so i dont think it is worth going to SSA just to change my maiden->married because i will need to change it to maiden soon.

    Guys,Please advise what to do?
