  1. She just told me that he should be able to use his birth certificate to renew his passport since there are so many people that don't even have a cedula. I know this process is long and SUPER frustrating, but just take each step and each day one at a time and don't get down. It will come to fruition if you want it to. There were so many times I didn't know what to do, but remember......

  2. I just asked my wife, and she said it can take a while. I know for her to get a new passport, it only took a week or two. I'm not really sure what to say other than start offering a "convenience fee" to speed things up. To reschedule an interview is no big deal, but I would do it sooner than later if you don't forsee him getting the card in time.

  3. At peace. My wife and son are finally here.

  4. I did not send my original BC as it was not required. They didn't ask for it or anything. The medical exam, from what my wife told me, was easy, it just takes all day though. You should try to get some kind of record, if possible, of your vaccines because otherwise the doctor will have to give you all the required vaccines to show proof you have been vaccinated.

  5. I did the translations myself. It's fine, as long as you are fluent in Spanish.

  6. The one we got was fine. Also, I tried calling the embassy to try and change the interview, but I wasted like 3 calling cards just trying to get someone to answer. Every time you call the embassy, they have a voice recording where you need to press an extension, but since nobody answers at the immigrant visa section, you get charged anyways. I finally gave up trying to call them.

  7. The police certificate did not have to be certified or notarized, neither were the marriage or birth certificates. But know this: you have to have the long form of your birth certificate and marriage certificate, if the marriage occurred in Honduras. It's different than the fill-in-the-blanks one that you normally get. She did not have to get a new police certificate either.

  8. Muchas gracias.

Y tambien, a quien usó Ud? Gracias!

  10. How's the NVC stage going? Did you ever end up getting the formal literal birth and marriage certificates? You should be ready to hear 'case complete' soon I would think. I hope you can get your step-son up here soon as well.
