Arrived about 40 mins before scheduled, appt was at 10:15 am, went in and waited for about 50 mins and was called in by this nice officer. First thing she asked me was to see all the passports I've had in the past.

I answered all 6 questions correctly, asked me to write a sentence in English and say something in English that I don't remember...something about October.

Questions I remember:

How many judges are in the Supreme Court?

What did the declaration of Independence do?

We elect a US senator for how long?

Who becomes President if the President or VP cannot longer serve?

and 2 that I don't remember but I nailed then like a boss She went through my application

verifying information and checking entry and exit stamps to make sure that I had resided in the US most of the time and finally asked me about my marriage since I received my green card through her. I answered all her questions truthfully and she seemed satisfied with my answers.

She asked me where I worked and also to see a proof of Selective Service registration. At the end she

said: are you ready for the good news? You are approved and we have a ceremony today at 1:30

Too bad my mom couldn't join me but I couldn't wait longer, I had already waited 6 months. I'll make it up

to her with a trip to DC.

hey poups68, not sure if my timeline applies to yours but I applied for my passport last week monday right after my oath ceremony (they had representatives from the department of state), and I just received it today. I got the certificate, passport book and card all in one package.

Also, you can check the status of your passport application on their website. I believe the site is http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/status/status_2567.html

Thx for ur reply but u know this is New York and things seems to be longer than other places.we didn't get these passport service people in our oath ceremony so I have to go to the nearest post office to apply.its a week now and my status still showing that my application is being proceed.thx again ill let u know.

You can have your passport in 2 weeks if you expedite. Or go in person to a passport agency and get it the same say.

There is a member on here who filed from Manhattan in Jan and has been waiting for an interview letter since.

It seems like mine may be completed in just under 3months.

CADMAN plz is for bioyn I guess but sometime pole from brx also have it there and sometime at federal plaza.i know a friend who had his interview in queens then oath in manhattan

So I just passed my interview and the IO said shell recommend my application for approve, how long does it take till you receive you oath letter?

Mine took 12 days to be in que for oath ceremony then 1 wk to be scheduled for oath ceremony.i had my interview on April 10th and oath ceremony is for may 15th at CADMAN plaza

Hi poups68! Congratulations on receiving your oath ceremony letter and also thanks for asking. The answer is NO! Absolutely nothing! Niente! Nada! It's been over 60 days that my status hasn't changed. Still in line for interview scheduling. I get the feeling that I will be pulling a rare stunt here by being the first who sent his documents and the last who will get his interview and oath letter. Only 6 people in our forum are still waiting for their interview letter to arrive.

Official processing time in NYC is 7.2 months, that puts me into early August 2013 now. The "funny" thing is that applicants from other borrows of NY (like yourself) have received their letters a long time ago. Well, there is nothing I can do before the 90-day period is over and I can (have to) give them a call.

Hey flipgaIRN just want to let you know that I received text and email that I was schedule for oath ceremony and letter was sent,so am waiting to see when and where I have to go.Thanks guest will get it in 2 days.

During the Oath que you will receive a notice once your Oath date has been scheduled and your Oath letter (N-445 form) has been sent. As for how long it takes it depends. My husband waited a week or so for his to change from que to Oath ceremony, but it all depends on your state. NYC has been kinda all over the place when it comes to progress. Some get their interviews sooner than others who filed earlier etc. Usually at the end of your interview the IO usually tells you when to expect to have your Oath ceremony. Did your IO tell you anything? If after a month and you don't see any change I suggest to call the USCIS to find out what the status is of your case. I ended up speaking to a level 2 officer and he informed me of my husband's change in status. then a couple of days later we got his N-445.

Thanks for the reply the io did told me to expect mail in 2 wks.tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I had my interview then yesterday received mail that am in que thought was the oath ceremony letter.so I still have to wait

Did anyone know how long it takes in NYC field to schedule the oath ceremony,I had my interview on the April 10th and until now nothing even in my case status it's remain testing and interview.thx

My ROC was approved last week, and I am now starting to prepare for when the time comes to file for naturalization (I won't do that until September, but I like planning ahead). I reviewed the N-400 form (by the way, the current version of the form expired at the end of March, maybe they will issue a new version by September), and I see that it asks to list residence and employment for the past five years. Since I am applying based on the 3-year rule (marriage to a USC), I assume that I will only need to list my residence and employment for the past three instead of five years. Do I just strike the word 'five' and write 'three'? Or should I just list the information pertaining to the past 5 years?

Also, re: taxes. We always filed our tax returns (married filing jointly) and paid whenever we had to pay. This year, due to my wife (USC)'s employer's bad mistake, we had to pay a lot (like several thousands), basically because my wife's employer did not withhold any federal taxes. I only learned of this mistake when I saw her W2 when we were ready to file (I never saw her pay stubs throughout the year, otherwise I would have asked her to correct the mistake). We set up an automatic payment and the money was sent to the IRS timely. We don't owe anything. However, if I request our tax transcripts it will show that we had to pay, but I don't think it will show that we did in fact pay. Is there a way to get a document from the IRS showing that we did pay, and that we don't owe anything? I can print a screenshot of our bank account, showing that the payments were made, but I am not sure whether this would suffice. Any idea?

Don't worry for that you good to go.for your employment and residence be award that you are lpr since only 3 years so list your 3 years employment and residence history.also for the tax if you call IRS for your transcript also ask for account transcript,it show all payment you have made.i went exactly true the same process I had my interview last April 10 and it was fine.since you file married filing jointly you good.good luck

ok thats fine they open at 7.am,i was there arround 6.30 coz my apointement was at 7.30 but had my interview at 8.40 coz the i.o came late.good luck.everything was done in like 10mn

Did you get the letter from IO where it said that:

Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. At this time it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified when and where to report for the Oath Ceremony.

The reason I am asking I got same letter from IO yesterday after finish successfully interview.

ah ok good luck the place is really big and they open a 7.ooam.mine was at 7.30 am was there earlier but my i.o came late so i had my interview around 9.

hello folks have my interview today at 26 federal plazza in new york.nice lady went true the all documentation then the yes or no questions.after that reading and wrirring test then the civics questions.ihad 6 questions because i gave the right answer so dont need to go to ten.after she said i passed and i will received the oath letter in about 2 wks.thanks everyone wish good luck to dramaqueen coz she/he is also part of ny.dont know now how long will take for the letter and the ceremony.anyone have idea.thx
