Hello VJ friends,
I want to thank everyone in VJ community for their posts and making us all a little more knowledgeable with the immigration process.
I am happy and exited to say that my wife has an interview for her visa in Bogota on July 13th. God willing everything will go excellent in her interview and she’ll be approved for her visa. When she enters to the United States she will be arriving with our 10-month-old baby, who is a USC born abroad and holds a US passport.
Now for the question.
As she arrives to see Customs and Border Protection at the POE is it wise for her to go with the USC line since she will be traveling with the baby or should she not attempt this and just follow the Visa line?
Anyone with this or similar experiences your feedback I very much appreciated and welcomed. Thanks to all who reply in advanced

I called NVC when I was doing this step and they said that part one of DS-230 needed to be an original signature (no copies). Call them up an confirm maybe they will be understanding. Fill the application up for your wife and send it to her via email. Have her FEDEX back ASAP. This will save you time and money.

7-9 months for spouse of a USC. 2-3 years for a spouse of an LPR. If he becomes a citizen while the application is pending he can upgrade.

Is there an additional fee for upgrating the apllication from LPR to USC?

Hey guys me again. I need a little clarification on the AOS application Part 3 question 8. I'm petitioning for my wife and will also be using a friend to use as a joint sponsor. When it ask me YES or NO(Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors), which box do I need to check off? What excitably does the box that says NO mean?
I figured that both me and the other person sponsoring my wife would have to check of to the YES box, but I'm really unsure.
Thanks in advance guys

Thanks for the response guys. I was under the impression that as soon as I got the IIN # I would be able to pay the AOS fee.

Thank you for the response. Another question that just came to me was, I am considering changing employers very soon. Would you recommend me changing employment now or should I wait for my wife to have her interview. The reason I ask is because I was told that NVC look into the petitioner having a stable jobs. Thanks again.

Hey Guys! I am waiting for NVC to provide me a case number, but in the mean time I want to get started getting all other paper work ready.A family relative (who is not a member of my household) will help me in spoing my wife's Affidavit of Support. I will be needing his assitance because I don't meet the financial guide lines.I undestand that my relative will have to file a separate I-864, but I don't know what to check on both mine and his I-864 for Part 1 of the application. Thanks once again for all the assistance you all provide. I will put the link to th I-864 application below so you guys have faster access to what I'm inquiring about.

In 2008 I filled a I-130 petition to bring my mother to the states. Thank God everything went fine, she arrived and stayed living in FL in Sep. 08'. I filed the affidavit of support for my mother using my NY address. In 2009 I move to FL to be closer to my mother and never remembered to inform USCIS of my address change. I am currently waiting for the the approval of my wife's I-130 that I submitted last November. I am concerned that USCIS might give me problems when they notice that I did not properly inform them of my address change. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this situation. I want to be ready when it comes time to fill my wife's affidavit support form.

I am a US citizen currently petitioning for my wife who lives in Colombia. I was wondering anyone knew if my spouses last name would change to mine or would she remain with her maiden last name? Our marriage certificates has her with her maiden name but I'm curious to know if US officials will change her last name to mine when she receives her US documents. Thanks
