  1. Hi All,

My parents applied for a visitor visa at US embassy in India on December 21 which got denied under 214(b).

My question is that when should they reapply as i think they meet the criteria for getting a visa.

Secondly we were blessed with a daughter on December 27 th and my parents would like to see the grandchild. She is going to be in the hospital till March as she was born 2.5 months premature.

So what should be my parent's prime reason to visit when asked. 'Tourism' as before or visiting their family(us and the granddaughter) ?

Why I am asking this is as these posts about pregnancy and visiting a grandchild not being a good reason for a visitor visa are making me feel nervous.

Please let me know how i should go about it.

    Thanks

    Gladiator.

  2. My wife is the petitioner and she changed her job after our case was completed in Jan. Now do we need to resubmit the updated I864 with the latest employment letter and pay stubs in original at the interview? Secondly do we need to give them the latest tax return as well..

  5. you are going to need proof of reestablishing domicile.

I am sorry trailmix, i was not able to explain myself properly. My wife is the petitioner and has a US domicile, job, apartment etc so its not a question of reestablishing domicile. However i am the benificiary and am currently on a student visa in canada about to graduate in April. However i have completed the course requirements of the degree already.(20 may-convocation).

Anyways as u put it, i would take a letter from school that i am graduating in April end along with the official transcrpits. I was also wondering whether my student status in canada has any bearing on my case or the interview?

  6. K&I should have their interview scheduled as well by now. I suggest calling NVC if they are already not annoyed at our calls.. heh..

I havent received the official email as yet. I wonder if Salnik and others have. However, I did call NVC this monday, to confirm the date.... cant believe it till i read the email twice..

Anyways, I am a management student here in canada on a student visa and my convocation is 20th May. I am already done with the requisite courses and need your advice as to whether i need to take my official transcripts or a letter from school saying that i will be done with my MBA in April and have took all the required courses to graduate. Or just a verbal confirmation should do?

Just curious if my student status in canada has any bearing on my application which i guess wont be the case.

    Thanks

  7. I just went through all my documents and methodically reorganized them according to Sdhiman's list. I also put Post-It tags on all of them, just in case. I'm DEEPLY comforted by your review, Sdhiman...you have no idea! I've gone from being "pretty sure" I have everything I need to being downright confident that I do. I've got extra copies of most things as well.

    Thanks again!

    hi wyatt .

  9. Hi Everyone,

I am in Indian Citizen in Canada and got married to a US Citizen last year. My wife has filed a petition for my CR1 visa and i am expecting an interview date at MOntreal consulate in a couple of months. I got to know that the indian consulates or even passport offices back in india offer services to enter the name of the spouse on the Indian passport.

What i am wondering is whether i really require to get that entry done provided i have the marriage certificate as a proof of marriage.

Please help and show some light on it. Thanks in advance
