  1. Hello,

I (USC) am trying to decide if I should attend the interview with my wife to get her CR-1 Visa..

Wanted to get some polling data and results of the USC regarding attending the Interview:

    1) Did the USC attend the interview? Y/N

    2) Result of the interview? Pass/Fail

    3) Location of interview?

Think it would be interesting to crunch these numbers and see if it really matters if the USC attends..

Thanks to all for your participation!!

I could not attend the interview, but my dad (also a USC) was able to attend (he kinda muscled his way through the whole process). It was for my husband and daughter. My husband was approved off the bat, but due to some technical problems with my daughter, they initially wanted to put her under AP. My dad was able to sort things out and they got the paperwork done ASAP. He was able to ask for help from American Citizen Services (and I know that they usually don't help out in these cases) and my daughter got her approval on that day too.

I agree that the presence of the USC is consulate-specific (depending on the trend of approvals vs. APs/Denials with or without the petitioner). But having your USC spouse or some kind of USC support would provide a morale boost and their presence would convince the consul of their genuine support (more points for "bonafide relationship"). Good luck!

  2. hi, ithink i saw ur husband and daughter with ur father there in the embassyy, mine im still waiting for visa delivery, im expecting the visa to deliver 2day.

I think you might've seen them. My daughter was the little girl running around like she was high on glucose and my dad the big guy with the tats. They had some problems, so they had to stay until around 1:30 for their approval. Give me a heads up when you get your visa ok? I hope they get theirs asap.. I would help me sleep better at night

  3. Thanks guys! My husband just received a text message from AIR21 with his reference number. Any idea if the visa was issued yet, or is just one of those "case on file" notifications. I kinda jumped the gun and bought the tickets for june 25.. I hope that 2 weeks is enough for them to receive their visas and for hubby to do seminar at CFO. They live in Pampanga, so I don't think it's outaways from Manila.. but you never know.

  4. My then-fiancée also paid COD (cash on delivery) for her visa delivery. This happened because her interview was on a Monday and she passed it, but she was required to resubmit one original page of my I-129. She submitted it on Thursday. Then, on Friday morning, a caseworker at the USEM called her and told her that they had lost my I-134 and all of my financial papers which she had submitted to them during her interview on Monday. She submitted copies of everything later in the day on Friday. That's when they told her that she would pay COD for her visa delivery. Her visa was delivered to Bacolod in about four business days later.

Thanks! They did have a small problem during the interview. I petitioned my husband and daughter, and they were looking for my daughter's CRBA. I didn't fulfill the residency requirements for her to get a CRBA. Then the consul asked for a denial letter (they wanted us to apply for a CRBA and BE DENIED for it). It was a good thing my dad was there and he did most of the explaining. I hope everything is alright. They did not ask for anything else.. Thanks again.

  5. My husband and daughter's visas were approved today. When they went to the Air21 window to make a payment, they were told that they would pay upon delivery. They also did not tell my husband of the waiting period for the visa delivery. Is the payment mode normal and can anyone give me the average time it takes them (air21 and usem) to process and deliver the visa?

  6. hi ladies.

Im still waiting for my NOA2 for my daughter :( Hope we get our NOA2 this MAY so i can merge my daughter application to my wife's approve I-130 :crying:

I remembered when my daughter got approved before my husband, I called the USCIS and asked if it was usual for the daughter to be approved first. The lady said that the approvals are usually within a week or two of each other. I suggest you call USCIS and ask if there is anything they can do to keep your wife and daughter's files together. God Bless!

So do you guys want it arranged by interview date (the first date) or by EST (the second date)?

I think arranging by EST is better, so we can really get a feel for "who's next."

:wow: wow! this is amazing! i'm sooo glad i'm sharing june with you.. :D good luck to all june interviews!!!

waah! hubby still hasn't receive the interview docs i sent to him.. and i made it all pretty and everything. makes me kinda wish i spent $100 more for ups than plain old usps priority mail.. don't you hate it when you have to send something to a far flung province and you have to pay triple for it.

  8. Liquids are also not allowed inside the USEM.

May or may not be true anymore.

When I was at the USEM this April 2010 to pay my mother's US passport renewal fee, they were telling everyone (repeatedly and loudly) at the American Citizen Services line/gate that electronics are not allowed. I didn't hear the guards say that US citizens can check in electronics with security and I didn't see people leaving electronics with the security people. A few people were turned away for "forgetting" that they still have their cellphones in ther pockets.

My dad went in the other day and he was allowed to check in his 2 cellphones.. he needed to leave an ID per unit with security. He used his I-Card and Driver's license because he needed his passport at the ACS..

  9. Congratulations Deb, Sandra, and ComplicatedMuch! What a GREAT day!

I also want to thank EVERYONE for their support and well wishes at our sign in fail today. I really appreciate it! Sorry I couldn't respond to all of you as you sent them, but I was at work. I'm surprised at Sandra's interview date or perhaps the consulate wasn't full. They told me today that the Casablanca embassy is full for May...which is fine because we didn't want May anyway. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for the June interview and looking forward to May 10th. Wow, I cannot believe it is finally case complete!!!!

Thanks! Thanks to all who helped me through this long and tedious process! Cheaper than a lawyer, and with 24/7 inquiries!!! Maraming maraming salamat po and Pagpalain kayo ng Panginoon Diyos! :innocent: (Thank you very much and God Bless!)

Vanessa, I'll pray you get the interview date ASAP!

  10. TheBears, Sandra/Ahmed, sachinky, tokyo.lovers, TatyanaR, Aneudy Martinez, Wife of Mohammed, Vanessa1, LovaRani:

Thanks! I just called the AVR, and case was completed on April 26.. I'm so happy! Thanks VJ! No true RFEs (only one false) and it took only a month since NVC received our case. I'm an OC nut, and I had so many issues to think about like my AOS-I only started work Sept 2009 and had a W2 income below poverty guidelines, but an annual income above that--I still went without a co-sponsor. I got so much info from the forum and the shortcuts, and followed them to the letter. And I went through hassle-free.. well almost, I did the psychological torture myself. Goodluck to those still waiting! And thanks to those who helped us through!

BTW, does the NVC send the petitioner a copy of the interview letter via mail, or do they give us an e-mail? I'm scared that if they send it to the PI, it'll get lost. Or do I have to call and get the interview sched myself?

  11. A week is nothing... LOL!

My 230 packet arrived April 7 and the AVR still doesn't show it! But an operator told me yesterday they have some mail from me but it isn't opened... it has been 15 days now!

I am calling for an operator again tomorrow. I can't handle much more waiting!

yikes! i could barely handle a week.. you had to go through 2

they told me the same thing.. they keep saying that they have mail from me unopened.. i sent in my AOS a couple of weeks ago, and just acknowledged it at the end of last week. then they RFE's me for my IV packet which was sitting in their mailroom.. :bonk:

good luck with your call tomorrow.. might nudge them to finally do something!

  12. Just went through the AVR, and they're asking for additional docs.. I instantly panicked and thought, Oh no! RFE! So I called them up and was told that a letter was sent out, explaining what was missing. And I had to prod the guy for more info. Turns out, they're asking for DS-230 and other docs, which is so weird because I sent it in early last week and it was updated in the AVR by the end of the week. So is it safe to assume that the docs that were updated last week were AOS and not IV? No more RFE's please... My heart can't take the stress... :crying:

  13. i just logged on to the AVR system and it seems they are waiting for the biographic forms from the petitioner. that has me stumped. the only biographic form i sent was with the USCIS.. i didn't realize anything like that was needed for the AOS. and it's too late to call and talk to an operator. anybody with a similar experience? this is gonna keep me up all night...

btw, congrats to those with interviews!!!
