  1. Not my first time, I actually lived in Melbourne (Prahran) with my fiance in 07/08. I fly into Melbs and told Jack that we have to hit up The Veggie Bar and The Shanghai Dumpling House before we drive up to Albury the next day. Albury is a bit boring but not too bad. The population is about 90,000 so its nothing to sneeze at... When I was there in December, the new JBHiFi opened, and the town had electronics fever! Okay, maybe it is a bit small... I was just wondering if there were any winter festivals going on up there or anything. I think there is a Christmas in July thing around Rutherglen somewhere... Hoping to get down to Falls Creek for some skiing. It should be a great trip for the simple reason that I get to see my man!

Oh how cool, you've lived there :). I haven't been to the dumpling house ... I should thought because I'm a huge fan of yum cha lol. Yes it will be a wonderful trip!! I hope yours is a lot better than my current one lol.

  2. I got a great deal on tickets and am flying return New Orleans/LAX/Melbourne for $1100USD. Amazing, considering I paid $2000 for the same flight in December... I'll be in chilly Oz at the end of June for a lovely two month holiday with my honey. I can't wait. We haven't seen each other since January! Anyone know of any fun and exciting happenings around Albury Wadonga for the next two months?!?

Hiya AustoUsa ... I don't know Albury/Wodonga, as I live close to Melbourne, but I have driven through it a few times on my travels up north to NSW and Qld. It is out in the sticks, as we say LOL ... I can't remember how built up it is, but I think it's quite a country type of place. You might want to Google it. I have friends that go up there and camp a lot though. How exciting for you though, is it your first time to Australia?

  3. Just some FYI regarding the V Australia tickets ... as I will have to go home early, I just called them to see how much it will cost to change our tickets ... $250 per person ... nothing for the baby thank god, so it will ONLY be $500 AU that I have to fork out *rolls eyes* That's for V Economy seating BTW.

I have a question regarding the *checks* and finding the case number (or whatever it is) after the checks are cashed. I keep reading on VJ about looking at the back of the check and the number is on there ... but what I don't understand is, how can you look at the back of the check when you have sent the check into USCIS? LOL ... can someone please clarify that for me :)

  4. hey everyone!

wow new faces!! everyone please stay positive and happy .... its a long road but one that is worth it (as you know :D)

August this year i am renewing my green card for 10 years - .... been here for 2 already wow time flies and i have a beautiful 18 month old daughter .....

Hi Sharyn :) congrats on your upcoming GC renewal and your beautiful daughter! I have a 6 month old myself :).

My EAD and AP were approved yesterday!!! Yay!!!!!:dance::dance:

I've had a touch on AOS today so hopefully my greencard will be coming soon too.

    Congrats Giggles!

Things just seem to go from worse to even more worse. Melvin came home early from work, to pack a bag and take it back to work, because it looks like he might have to go to Oregon until Tuesday. I'm apparently supposed to be out of here by the end of next week and this would have been the only weekend we could have spent time together before I leave.

I feel like just giving up, I really do. This was supposed to be a fun trip and all I've achieved is stress out of it. Sorry to vent, but I'm just not really happy lately.

  5. Yeah I totally get that about having a partner in the Military and I was prepared to just hang out here while he was gone and then spend my last week here with him when he got back.

I have to go home next week and it's going to cost me a fortune I'm sure, to change our tickets. His lease is up in October, so I hope that he moves to a different apartment complex ... he needs to move anyways, as right now he's only in a one bedroom.

  6. Lol. Well it's kinda the same....both are on boats :P Hehe! I hope you don't think I didn't believe you, it just seem strange he was taking the test when my husband had told me they take it in January. There are several stages when going for the promotion so I thought maybe he was at the stage where they go up against the panel who selects who makes it.

How was your holiday? Are you back home yet? I hope you got lots of pictures and kept all the evidence this time :D

Yeah I did think you didn't believe me lol.

I'm still in Seattle, supposed to be here until the end of July, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. He might have to go to New Orleans at the end of this month for 3 weeks, because of the oil spill. On top of all that, the manager of his apartment complex is having a whinge because we are going to be here for 2 months. I think we have about 6 pics so far, of us together. Nothing flash. We are supposed to be getting a family portrait done, but I don't know if that is going to happen, if he has to go away etc.

  7. welcome to Seattle!! sorry about the rain.. the rain.. the rain.. it's seriously been raining for like 1 month straight

Thanks Kaffy!! I love the rain etc, but this is seriously driving me nuts! I just wanted to get out and do things and M took a whole week off work when I got here and had to go back today :( ... now that he is back at work, I can't even take the baby out in the stroller for a walk ... housebound much!!

The only thing we have done is the Pike Place Market when it was clear for a while yesterday.

  8. Hi guys

Can't remember if I've updated recently, but I'm in Seattle! Flight was good, LAX was a nightmare ... unorganised so and so's .... anyways, the whole flight went super fast, even considering I had my 5 month old with me lol.

Vanessa OMG I am so glad you are out of that house! It's very sad that that Monster In Law is the way she is, but at least Tony knows what she's like and wont put up with her #######. How dare she refer to you as a stranger! Reading that made my blood boil. At least now you guys can move on and be together happily, with NO stresses!! *big hugs* xx.

HUGE congrats to Deb n Steve and James and Candice! Absolutely wonderful news guys!! xx

  9. When do you leave?? You must be jumping out of your skin.

My interview is in 13 days ... It's Bex who sent his DS230 on Monday ... wohoo!!

Anyways, I'm not freaking out ... much!!! Horrible interview experiences coming out of Sydney at the moment ... :crying:

    Oh woops, sorry LOL.

How exciting that your interview is so close too!

I leave next week, the 26th ... 7 more sleeps! LOL

Now that I've finished up work for the moment, I will start packing. V Australia Economy tickets suck regarding case weight limits! I shouldn't complain though, I got the cheapest tickets ever lol.

And woo hoo for you bex!

  10. Hi how are you? I met my fiance in the US in 2004 in the USA. She was in the US with a J1 visa. She returned to her country about 2 years later. My question is should I show pictures from when she was in the USA as well eventhough it was more than 2 years ago? What should I put in the picutres? Where should I put the pictures in a zip lock bag or paste them in a blank paper? How many pictures is a good number? What if I have my flight itenerary but not my boarding pass is that good enough? Thanks for your response. I really appreciate the help.

Hi there, I can answer a few of your questions :)

USCIS want proof of having met in the last 2 years, so I would just put those most recent photos.

Putting them in a zip lock bag is fine. I have read some people on VJ print out colour copies, so that they can fit quite a few on one sheet of paper.

I doubt your itinerary would carry much weight, as it doesn't prove you actually boarded the flight, if you know what I mean.

    I hope I've been some help :)

  11. Astrid I am so sorry to hear about your Mum ... sending positive thoughts and vibes to you both <3

You tooth is turning into a nightmare you really don't need right now. I guess in a way, you're lucky that you can get it out in the chair. My top 2 are removed, but my bottom 2 are still in the gum, impacted and the surgeon wont take them out because it may cause nerve damage in my lip and chin.

I hope your insurance comes through soon :(

  12. I would suggest possibly filling out your G-325A before you head over to the US or look over the form before you leave at least.

It asks you to list your residence for the past 5 years and asks for the years you resided there (if you've lived in more than one place, you may not remember the address and/or year you lived there). I had to search my file for my last address that I lived at in 2006.

It also asks for your employment for the last 5 years. Again you might not remember details, so it's wise to maybe fill out those parts before you leave for the US.

We are heading to the US next week and filing in July, so I'm glad I did my G-325A before I left :)

  13. I live in Vancouver, hubby lives in Seattle. We both got clearance to move to each other's country but our work (and healthcare system) is keeping us in our place. :( Thus, the regular commuting to downtown Seattle where he lives. Drop me a line if you want to meetup for coffee. I'd love to show you around, either in Seattle or Vancouver.

Hey Revenesque ... that sucks about the healthcare :( ... I hope you guys can eventually sort that out. I guess you are both lucky that you live not too far from each other. Thankyou so much for your generous offer, I would love to meet you for that coffee!

    Nizzy@ (F) So sorry

Something crazy happened to me this week, I went to do laundry with Sof as always and when I turned around to pick up some clothes from the machine a lady picked up my baby from the stroller, I turned to check on Sof and she wasn't on the stroller :help: I freaked out!!!!,and then I see this lady holding Sofia,#######!!!!!!! I was so upset, nervous that just yelled at the lady and took my baby away from her, what's wrong with people? I learned my lesson ladies, trust me, I almost had a heart attack!

We went to pick up Sofia's walking shoes from Stride Rite, great prices from the outlet and Carter's too, they are on super sale!

Vi that is horrible :( I can totally understand your reaction, I'm sure I would have done the same! ... I don't understand what it is with some of these people. I had one old woman start poking and prodding my baby while he was in his pram. I was paying for something at the register and noticed her doing it out of the corner of my eye. I was so shocked, I was stuck for words! And that is really unlike me lol. I am more prepared now, in case it happens again.

Declan had his 2 year checkup on Friday. The doctor said he "chunked up" because he is now in the 61% for weight, a whopping 29.75 pounds. Made me laugh that the doctor described it as chunking up, because I still have to buy adjustable waist pants for my skinny boy, otherwise he looks like a gangsta with saggy pants and his diaper showing

Height is 97%, as always. He is 37 inches tall.

*Chunked up* ... too cute lol. Sounds like Declan is growing nicely Autumnchik :)
