I actually was able to get my divorce finalized faster (first talked to court clerk - didn't get any help, then talked family law supervisor - case transferred to different department and finalized within 2 days).

I got certified copy of final judgment today. Do you happen to know if this is what USCIS refers to as final divorce decree in RFE? is this the document i need to submit?

I need advice on following situation:

Been married for 3 years.

Started divorce before ROC.

Filed I-751 waiver of the joint filing requirement (while divorce is pending).

Got REF for final divorce decree (deadline September, 4).

File for judgement today August, 14

Here is the problem though: current prepossessing times for stipulated judgments at the court are two month, meaning i will have divorce decree aprrox. mid October.(which is way past REF deadline).

My question is whats gonna happen next? If i submit copy of stipulated judgement filed with court and explanation can USCIS issue another REF? or will they simply deny my case?

Our marriage lasted two years, but we lived only one year together. No kids, no property. I went to Legal Aid and they told me the Judge will not order spousal support in such short marriage.

My husband and I are going through divorce right now. I just received a paper from him requesting a trial for spousal support. He claims he didn't work for last year of our marriage (in reality he works in a hotel and lives there free and gets paid under the table). So I am wondering since he signed i-864 for me will I have to pay spousal support??? and does anyone know is it possible to obtain copy of i-864 from USCIS since i didn't save one....

I'm employed but I make less then 125% poverty guideline. Court also granted me a waiver for Court fees since I don't make much money...

Is this something that happens often? Should I be worried?

Hi! Im in the same boat here (filing while divorce pending). I have a lawyer. And she told me exactly the same thing as Vanessa&Tony stated. She said that divorce is something that happens a lot nowadays. And USCIS and Immigration Judge understand that. You will not be removed and will keep the right to work. The Judge will just give an extension till you have divorce decree in hand. I don't think you should be worried.

oh yes and i got a green card. we were asked only two questions at the interview: birthday of my husband and if we do live together. all those sleepless nights and just 2 questions!!! but im happy its over. well almost.

this is just hilarious: got two letters from immigration. first one says: after reviewing our systems, we have not found any evidence that you have filed an application with us. really???????????????????

well it gets even better. the second letter is an actual interview invitation. finally!!!

Today it was delivered: Your item was delivered at 6:11 PM on April 1, 2010 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64081 to HOMELAND SECURITY . The item was signed for by M SIEVERS.

Question: why delivery zip cod doesn’t match? I sent it to 64002 and it is delivered at 64081. Why is that? Has my REF gone to a wrong place?

I haven’t posted here for a while… I have this very difficult situation. My husband and I had an argument last night. He started yelling at me to shut up and then he hit me. He was very drunk too.

I was crying whole night… I stayed with a Russian friend this night. I dint go home. I don’t know what to do. I didn’t call the police. I love him. And I want to go back to him. .

I don’t know what to do. He told me he is sorry. But on the other hand he told me I can’t leave him now cause I will not get green card. I don’t think he is sorry if he is saying this. He has been drinking a lot lately and got mad at me several times and was screaming. Shall I file for divorce? What do I do in situation like this? Please help

I recieved a standard email from USCIS: CASE PLACED ON HOLD On February 8, 2010, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case........

I wish it comes fast....I keep thinking about what reason could it be all the time

Um by the way does anyone know how many days do they give to answer the RFE? (before the opportunity to submit it expires - scariest part in email!)

i got there at 1 p.m. and there were only 2 people in front of me. was done in about 20 min.

I mailed in my paperwork to USCIS and they received it today. And Just now I realize i forgot to put my name on G-325-A in the box outlined by heavy border at the bottom of form (my husband didn’t notice it either, so his is missing too).

I don't know wHY I didn't see this before after a million times looking at it

will they return the paper work?

can i mail new completed forms lets say tomorrow? or do i just wait and see what happens?
