It did not delay the process at all. It was the same timeframe when compared to other folks at Milwaukee office

Received the name change certificate today, 15 days after the oath ceremony.
FYI, Since the oath ceremony was not at the court house( but performed by a judge), USCIS sends the name change petition to the court house. The court house then records the name change, signs it and sends it back to USCIS. USCIS then mails the copy to us. Hence the delay.
You can always request a certified copy from the court house. It's is $11 here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I will give it a few more days and then go to the court house. I'm guessing I need to go the court house in the city where the naturalization took place. My Oath ceremony was not in one.

I was recently naturalized and I changed my name. My naturalization certificate shows my new name and I was told at the ceremony that the court order letter stating my name change from old to current would arrive in the mail.
Is this correct? Did anyone here go through this process?

Hello,
My parents visited me on a B-2 (Tourist Visa) for a month and left US last week. With the new electronic I-94, they were not given any I-94 at the port of entry. I was able to retrieve the electronic I-94 from https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html
The FAQ section says I should not be able to retrieve this information after the Visa holder has left the US. But I am still able to see this information for my parents (they left last week).
Is there something else they had to do before they left? I want to make sure that they are not recorded as an "overstay".

Hi Folks,
I received the Oath Ceremony letter this week for Oct 10th in Milwaukee. I have a couple of questions.
1. I have requested a name change and I thought name changes were only possible when the oath ceremony was in a court. My ceremony is at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
2. When I sign the back of the Oath Ceremony letter, do I sign with my current name or my new name.

I just received another notification from USCIS that a letter was sent on Sept 23rd. I guess the first notification on Sept 17th was a false one.

Hi Everyone,
I received a text message and email on Sept 11th saying :
"On September 17, 2013, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location....."
It's been 11 days and I still haven't received the oath ceremony letter in the mail. Is this normal? Is there a number or place I call and check my status?

My Interview experience in Milwaukee, WI. Appointment time was 9:30am and we got there at 9am. My wife was with me.
10 mins past my appointment time, the interviewer came out and called my name and took me to a room to be fingerprinted (both index fingers) and photographed. The person doing the fingerprinting asked for my GC and took down some notes and said everything was good.We then went to the interviewer's room, made me take the oath that I'm telling the truth and and she asked the following questions:What is an amendment?Who vetoes bills?Who did we fight in WW2What is the supreme law of the landWhat is the capital of Wisconsin?What do we show loyalty to when we saw the pledge of Allegiance?She them asked me to read "Where is the White House located?" and asked me to write "The White House is in Washington D.C".She then asked for my Green card and drivers license and went over each entry in the application. I had a few corrections and was also getting a name change. She made the corrections and made me acknowledge and sign that there were 6 changes to my application and zero additional supporting documents. She then made me sign the name change petition document in duplicate, and also sign the N400 application and told me I passed and should hear from them about the Oath date soon.The whole process took less than 15 mins and I was not asked to show any other documents. Not even my passport, marriage certificate, USC wife's documents, or tax returns etc. The interviewer did however have a 6 inch file which was our packet

Hi Folks,
One of the items asked to bring with to our citizenship interview is "Your spouse's birth or naturalization certificate of certificate of citizenship". My USC spouse was naturalized via her parents before she was 18 years old. She does not have a naturalization certificate but does has US passports (multiple due to name changes) for the last 13 years. Is this sufficient proof of citizenship of spouse?

hi folks
I made a mistake on my N-400 application where I forgot to put down one of my trips on page 4: " Part 7. Time outside the United State". This was a cruise I took to the Caribbean and Mexico. Should I mail USCIS the corrected page 4 or should I correct this at the interview. Do you know if there is a way to correct this at Biometrics?

I gather you did not petition for your spouse to bring him here, also gather you are a woman. You certainly had to provide proof you are a US citizen or at least a LPR to do that before you cane even petition for him.
Those of us that did petition to bring our intended here had to prove we were US citizens, not only that, but had enough bucks to support them, were taxpayers, go through that long AOS stage, then that crazy ROC stage with more loopholes in it than you can shake a stick at, then applied for that so-called marriage privilege so we can finally be free of the USCIS. As a US citizen spouse, was also tied down, having to report to the USCIS where I was at.
So I am gathering you met your husband here. How did he come here? Does he have a green card? Work visa, lottery are other means. Seems like if this is the case, that marriage privilege does not apply and he has to wait the full five years.
Am I confused? Did you already have a US passport? Seems like if you had, you should be able to apply for a new one. Thought about my stepdaughter in this case, due to long delays in our AOS processing, she barely turned 18 when her mom was naturalized. But if they were a week sooner, would have spent the 600 bucks on her for that N-600 just to permanently end her relationship with the USCIS. But as it was, she had to wait two more years and had to spend $680.00 plus another 1,350 miles of driving. Felt I owed that to her, after all, I did bring her here. Oh, and another couple of hundred or so, for a US passport.
With my weird sense of humor, pointed out, I spent a lot more money importing dogs from Germany, that is when it occurred to me, didn't have to fool around with the USCIS to bring a dog here. Guess dogs have more rights than humans.

My husband was already in the US on H1B and I did not have to apply for a K1. We filed for Adjustment of Status based on marriage to USC (me). After the conditional 2 year GC, we applied for Removal of Conditions and received the 10year GC and we are now applying for citizenship based on the 3 year rule (detailed information is in my signature).
It sounds like your question is not whether you are a US citizen (you are) or how to prove it (passport). It sounds like you just want to know how to fill out the form when you don't know the date of naturalization. If it's really impossible to contact your parents for this piece of information, I would estimate it (you know you were 17 - do you have any memory of a time of year at least?) and make sure the IO knows it's an estimate and you don't have access to the exact date since your naturalization was based on your parents. You might want to include a cover letter that briefly explains this. Good luck.
Thanks, sciencenerd. You are right on. The problem is not about showing proof of citizenship (I already have a US passport). I want to know how to fill the form when the naturalization date is not available. I will follow your suggestion and include a letter explaining the situation. I also intend to call USCIS about it. I just wanted to check if anyone here had been in a similar situation.

i dont think anyone can get a US passport without naturalization(only if born in US).as you said you have a US passport,it means you have been naturalized.and as you were a minor you parents might have got you naturalized back then.bec its impossible to get a US pasport without naturalization even if your a minor.no one can get a US passport on their parents naturalization.
u still can call uscis and inquire about it,and for a replacement naturalization certificate you have to fill n-565 not n 600.
i would say consult a laywer.

The Child Citizenship Act of 2000 (effective on Feb. 27, 2001) made the child who is below 18 years old an automatic citizen if one of his parents naturalizes. The child’s citizenship is granted by operation of law. This means the child does not even have to do anything but he will be considered a U.S. citizen.

A: The date my parents gained their citizenship.
3. Place your spouse became a U.S. citizen (See instructions): _________________ (city and state)
A: The city and state their naturalization ceremony was held.
I was able to find this information from my family. I also provided a copy of my passport (just the main pages) as proof of my citizenship. This worked without any issues.
