Good luck with the job search!

I waited about 4 weeks after POE, and when my SSN still hadn't shown up, I went to the office with my passport w/ visa and applied for one. Got it 6 days after that.
To add on to things hubby has not received; we went to SSO like 2 wks ago & still nothing from them!
Yaaaaaaaaay. Just received my Green Card! Came in the mail today! It's green! And shiny! I love it! I'm so excited!

Helloooo lovely ladies! My little alien POEd June 4, got the welcome letter....July 7(ish) and today the website is changed to...
"Document production or Oath Ceremony
On July 8, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."
Will let you know when we get anything in the mail. He got his SScard last week in the mail as well. But after not getting it after 3 weeks, he re-applied for a new one at the end of June.....so maybe that kicked the GC into production? Don't know, life it good!! He's taking his CA driver's license test as we speak and will be working on his professional licenses ASAP next week....We actually went to look at some houses to buy too, scary! I can't wait for the World Cup to be over so he will stop acting like a drooling zombie staring at the TV
 At least he mows the lawn and waters the garden during commercials
Congrats everyone on the updates.....remember our lives 2 months ago?
Congrads! You got a lot going on! Good luck on the house!

Sooo. Here's news at my end. I just got a job at a local community bank here in Michigan and was supposed to start work this week. However, Mr. Sachinky interviewed with a basketball team this past weekend and they faxed him a job offer we can't refuse. So now, we're moving to NEW MEXICO in two weeks time. I don't whether to laugh or cry. I hate moving! I was just settling in here!
Sorry to hear you all have to move again but yet Congrads on his job offer!
-
You can track the GC status on the www.uscis.gov site with your tracking # that's on the Welcome Letter.
I signed up for updates and I got a text earlier this morning saying my card production has been ordered!

My husbands POE is on July 6th and he will be coming in thru Chicago! I have read the reviews on Chicago and it sounds like he should be fine and no long waits (hopefully lol)I was wondering his final destination is Seattle so will he have to get his luggage in Chicago and then recheck them to Seattle or will he be able to just go thru customes and then straight onto his connecting flight? Thanks for starting this thread im very interested in hearing everyones first entry experiences. Good luck to everyone
Congrads! We are in Seattle too!

how's this for comic relief - back in feb/march, i had written to the uscis ombudsman to look into my case, since it was coming up on the 5 month mark and still had not gotten the 1-130 approval. i just received a letter in the mail last week from the ombudsman saying that the uscis had told them that my i-130 case had been approved and that i should contact the NVC for further information (haha). imagine how funny this was when my wife, the beneficiary who's already in the country with the visa, was the one who opened the letter! stupid uscis
same thing with senator gillibrand of new york - i had tapped into their office as well to help with the i-130 petition. i get a call last week from their office telling me that my I-130 had been approved, to which I said, thanks I know. My WIFE, who's now in the country, also thanks you for your prompt attention! oh well...i guess it'll be election time soon and perhaps the good senator is going after all the votes she can get!
Just checked the mail, I got my SSN!!!
6 days after my visit to the Social Security Office, that's awesome! They said 7-10 so I was not expecting anything before the holiday!

good idea! btw, just wanted to let all of you know that the CR-1 visa that you get in your passports is a valid temporary substitute for the I-551 form (green card) for up to a year (according to the fine print in the visa sticker itself). so i think that should suffice when going for job interviews and such, ie, you can say that you are legally authorized to work in the US w/o any issues...something to remember (in light of all the recent GC and SSN conversations)...
Yep. My hubby has been working for about 2/3wks now & showed that as proof & all is fine.

Should we start a thread in the "Moving here and your new life in America" forum?
That seems like the most appropriate place for us to keep chatting! Cause I know I just can't go cold turkey until ROC 2012!
Let me know if you get a new forum started since I am not here as often as I like to be to know if one was started.
-
So I filled the AR-11 online & I put that registration number off of his I-551 visa in the passport. I was confused about it being 8 numbers & not 9 but after I selected to save a copy for me, they had a 0 after the A so now I got it.
Lets hope I changed our address in time & we get something soon.

My husband was approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No AP or anything!

yay!!!! CONGRADS!!!!!
Congratulation to all whos got approved....
June has been a positive month..... hope the same for July and August(
)
Congrads on getting your interview date finally & best of luck to you!!!
Ok guys.. Good and bad news..Hubby said interview was easy just that cosponser filed taxes wrong so it is either cosponser do an amendment or i get another cosponser and send info to embassy and they will give Hussy the visa.I felt so sad but atleast i know it is not somthing hard to fix.
Sorry to hear that but Congrads at the same time!!! Hope you will able to submit what they need to them soon. Good luck!!!
Wow, I havent been around in a while... congrats to all the June approvals!
Life with hubby these past two weeks has certainly been interesting, filled with ups and downs... but all in all worth it in the end. I just got a curve ball from the dreaded USCIS... just as I thought I was in the clear... I get this e-mail today...
Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN
Current Status: Denial Notice Sent
On June 29, 2010, we mailed you a denial decision notice for this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. The notice explains why the denial decision was made and the options that may be available to you. If you have not received this notice within 15 days of June 29, 2010, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.
If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.
I thought that, seeing as how my husband is HERE BY MY SIDE AS I TYPE THIS... that this was a matter already dealt with. I mean, he even has his social security card and everything. Just no GC yet, but its only been 2 weeks since his POE. Am I missing something?
So i just dont know. I'm waiting for the hardcopy to see what these fools have to say. Geez, just when you think you can breathe...
Huh? Do you know what that means?
-
thank you for all congrats every one!!!
I just got my passport back with the visa on it !!!
Tokyo Embassy is so fast !!!
and I will be leaving in 8 days
YAY!!! Have a safe flight!
-

Hey Sachi!
Thats good news! So at least your are not stuck at the airport! I think its all about the new changes they are doing with the new GC. They must be overload.
Hopefully we'll receive something this next week. Let me know if you make an infopass appointment. I'm thinking to do the same if it reaches 2 months -or maybe 1 1/2.
I called on hubby's welcome letter/gc today to USCIS & we wore told sometimes it can take up to 90 days to receive it.

LADIES ..EHH EXCUSE ME THIS IS JUNE INTERVIEWS THREAD..
We do need a new thread to hang out in.
-
It's okay, Yohino. Husby says the A-Number isn't on his NOA2, either. I don't know. The documents are all with him. So he's scanning the NOA1 and NOA2 to me tonight. I can't remember seeing it, though. Otherwise I would have written it down on my Important Number list.
Exciting news! I'm signing the lease on the apartment tomorrow! The move-in isn't until October, but I'm still all sorts of excited.
I havent looked at hubby's NOA2 paperwork. But in his passport someone (I assume at POE) wrote by hand A........ but its only 8 numbers & not 9, is that the Alien # or? Also on his I-551 visa in his passport there is a Registration Number (thats what I actually gave to the lady @ USCIS when I called) is that the number? Its also 8 #'s.
The A# is your alien registration # or the REGISTRATION NUMBER printed on your visa beneath your case #.
If you look @ my previous post, I was confused about that Registration #. It should be 9 numbers long or?

Congrads on the lease!

Two Cents:
The AR-11 and I-865. Gotta file both. We're doing the same thing -- moving when he gets here. Or I might move a week before he gets here. Whatever. The address on the DS-230 is my mothers. So I'm just going to wait until we get the GC before filing these little babies.
So if the address on the DS230 is my sisters, should I not worry about changing the address then till later?
But I did change it with the PO already.
-
I'll try and outline the steps.
POE--Immigration processing. Need Customs form, passport, visa, POE envelope. Ask if you're updated in the SAVE system.
Wait for SSN in the mail. If it doesn't come in 2 weeks time, go to the local office and apply in person with visa, passport, and marriage certificate. They will need the A#.
Should receive in 7-10 days but can take longer since they have to verify A# through DHS. Give it about 14-21 days.
'Welcome Letter' SHOULD be in your mail within 3-4 weeks. If it has been more than 30 days since POE, contact USCIS.
GC should follow in 14 days after the welcome letter which will outline when your GC production has been ordered.
During the process, if you the immigrant move, you will need to file the AR-11 through mail, phone or online.
Your spouse, the USC petitioner, will need to file the I865 through mail.
If you hold a CR-1 visa, you will need to file for ROC, 90 days prior to the expiry of the 2 year GC.
Hope this helps!
Thank you!!!! Helps a lot!!!!
Is it bad that hubby havent went to the SS office yet? It's been a month since he has been here. Neither has he received anything yet. But then there is a question about address since we moved. But prior address is my sisters.
-
Yes, as long as you're a sponsor on hook for the I-864 you need to file the I-865 if you move.
I filed the AR-11 online and sent Mr. Sachinky's I-865 via regular mail to Nebraska.
The address on the DS230 is my in-law's place so I'm not too worried about the mail.
I just want USCIS to get off it's butt and send me my 'welcome letter' or for O'Hare to get off it's butt and send USCIS my POE envelope so that they can send me my welcome notification.
So if on the DS230 is my sisters address should we count on getting the letter & GC or?
So, I need to fill out the I-865 (is that the change of address portion for me?)?

Hubby called twice & was told he is not in the system yet. But actually 2nd time he called he was told to go to the local office they would know more. Problem is hubby is working so much that we dont have time
I hate that I cant call USCIS on his behalf. I would be bugging them every single day!
Sorry to hear about your wife! Maybe she got allergies or something? Being everything (food, detergin, soap, etc) in US is new for her.
