  1. Hellojulie has posted a really thorough review of her DCF interview over in the UK sub-forum, but I thought I'd link to it here: Julie's DCF review It might be useful to have a look at because she talks a little about what she used to prove domicile.

How's everyone slogging along these days? See we have some new people on this thread -- welcome! :)

    Hi guys,

Just want to say thanks for all your help during our DCF process. My visa was approved on Thursday :dance: . I am waiting for my passport and MBE to be returned to me.

To add to Hellojulie's interview review. I will only talk about the domicile stuff since everything was almost the same for me. I used elmicitymaven's helpful letter as a guide to draft my domicile letter and included a signed lease from the property we will be renting, driver's license emails, evidence that my USC was loking for a job(tons of job application) removal quotes and emails from the removal companies. I attached everything to the letter and gave it at the first window eventhough she didn't ask me for them. By the time I was called by the CONOF for the interview he had already read it and didn't ask me any question about my husband's intention to move. He handed the letter and documents back and said my visa has been approved. The only question I was asked was how long we have been married. He then asked me to go and pay at the couriers and due to the holidays it wlill take up to 2weeks to get my passport back.

The actual interview took less than 2minutes :wow:.I was soo relieved and thank God for a succesful interview. The whole process has been straightforward and painless for me because of this forum and the wonderful people here. Thanks again guys!!

  2. Best thing to do is email the embassy -- and to make certain it gets read you probably need the weekly code...which means a call to the extortion line to get it. Just explain the situation to them and that you need the email code. Once you get it, send an email to both of the email addresses cited on VJ: londonconsular@state.gov and londoniv@state.gov. Put the code in the subject line and ask them to confirm via email and hard copy your date. You WILL be on the list for the day, so even if you didn't have the letter you'd still be okay but better to have confirmation than not.

Some VJers have had joy in the past by bypassing the extortion line and sending an email with their London case number, the topic and the word "URGENT" in the subject line instead of the code. Up to you! Good luck! :)

Thanks again elmcitymaven for you continuos help. I called the extortion line and they gave me a code, I have now emailed the Embassy. I have got everything ready for next week, I wanted to double check that for 1-864 I can put country of Domicile as USA (with proof of steps to establish domicile). My husband is currently in the UK, can I use US address as mailing address and UK address as place residence? I'm a bit confused. :help:

  3. The embassy has an expensive helpline (120p per minute) at 09042-450-100. They either answer your question on the phone, or give you a code to write in over email. But yours will hopefully come soon, though! See above post from sveta & jeff-- their I-130 was approved Feb 12th, and they got Packet 3 today. Woo hoo! :)

    Hi mcclapa,

You can send an email to USCIS.London@dhs.gov in case you do not want to call the extortion line. I do not know how soon you will get a reply, perphaps you should call and send an email.

  4. Thank you for the reassurance, Joanna.... It's one thing telling myself to be calm it's another thing actually doing it!! But you're right, God forbid there are any problems but I'm sure that if there is a hitch then it wont be anything major. Could you provide any links for the questions they ask applicants in interview? I'm useless (not lazy!) at finding these things...

Let me know how Mark's medical goes!!!

    Hi guys,

I guess we are all awaiting packet 4 since we started the process around the same time. To add to what jphi said, stay calm and make sure you have got everything you need for the interview. From what I have read from other people the interview itself is under 10minutes. Good luck to us all!!

  5. Congratulations, nc73! That's so exciting! I know for certain that I will cry once my husband's approval is through (and I bet he will too)-- it will be such a happy feeling of relief. Safe travels to the US!

Congrats nc73. have safe journey next week.

Could someone please tell me if I should have I-864 and I-864A notarized? I am waiting for packet 4 and do not want any hitches at the last minute.

  6. That's great news, Taavy! Congratulations on getting your approval notification! Champagne all around! :)

I'm still waiting-- mine got held up because the RFE they sent got lost in the mail on Dec 22nd, and I didn't find out till last week, when I called the extortion line. So hopefully I'll be receiving my NOA2 by next week-- I hear they turn around the RFE's pretty quickly once they receive them back.

Are you still waiting on Packet 3? Do you have your DS-230 and checklist ready to go?

jphi - you should hopefully receive NOA2 by the end of this week.

I am waiting for Packet 3. I have completed DS-230 still sorting out the 1-864 hope to have it ready by the time I receive Packet 3

  7. Hi elmcitymaven!

I'm having fun so far navigating through the ins and outs of the UK DCF process. Here's a partial list, looking over the threads from recent weeks, of who is filing DCF in London now (or will be soon). Any updates from anyone? Problems/Successes to report?

Should anyone else be on the list?:

    Hi guys,

I have just received my approval notification. I am soo happy and preparing for the next steps. I will be asking a couple of questions as I go along, I will really appreciate your help guys.

Wondering if the rest of you have received NOA2 or packet 3?

  8. Hi Londonhornet,

We mailed my petition regular first class mail on November 9th, and received an email from the USCIS London Field Office 3 days later saying that the petition was received and filed (on November 12th). Did you supply your email address (or the address of the USC) on the bottom of the first page of the petition? Have you checked your junk email folder to make sure the email isn't in there? I haven't received anything else yet over email or mail, but the processing fee was taken from my account on November 12th.

The confirmation email said that to check what date they are currently processing I-130 petitions, you can visit http://london.usembassy.gov/dhs/uscis/i130filing.html (there's a little box on the right side of the page)-- right now, it is saying that as of December 21st, they are processing petitions filed on November 10th. It hasn't moved very much in past month. On November 10th, it said they were processing petitions received up to November 3rd. On November 23rd, they were processing November 9th. Finally moved again on December 21st, but only by a day, to Nov 10th.

I'm not sure if it's running a bit slower due to the holidays, but I've read that it takes anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks from the date you mail the petition until the date you hear if your I-130 has been approved. I would first check your account again, to see if the money has been debited. If it has, that means they received your package, and I would give it a few more weeks, and just continue to monitor the processing dates on that link above. If the money hasn't been debited, it wouldn't hurt to call at the end of next week, to check up on it and make sure it wasn't lost in the mail. Good luck!

    Guys,

I have been worried too, I sent my petition on 1st December. I received a letter to say it's been filed for 10th December, I wonder what is going on as the processing date has been really slow this time around and I wonder if my husband and I will be in America by the end of March as we had hoped.
