Such a relief!! Our interview was very quick and easy! The immigration officer very friendly , and overall a pleasant experience. She told me before the end of the interview that it's approved, and asked if we could hang just a couple of minutes so she can order us production of the card , so I get it within couple of weeks.

I live in Mass too but they send me for biometrics to the new hartford field office ,
did they send you a interview apt letter ?
if you could tell us your timeline ( or fill it out ) it would help to know what kind of interview you will have to go for
Yes, I have the interview this coming Wednesday ( Jan 20 ). I sent my AOS package at the end of October, had my biometrics on Dec 2 in Boston, Dec 15 I received the letter with my interview date, and on Dec 23 I got an approval letter for my EAD, and Jan 2 I got my Employment Authorization Card in mail.

Anyone on the forum had the interview in the new USCIS office in Lawrence, MA and can share their experience ?!?!

We went to the social security office to change my fiancee's name to my last name. She previously had a SSN from working in the states before so it was just a name change. We get to the desk everything works out all right and at the end he said we would receive confirmation in 2-4 weeks since they had to check to make sure the immigration information matched up.
Does that sound right?
Can I file my AOS without confirmation of her name ?
Yes, I filed mine way before I went to Social Security office to change my name. I had to wait for my Employment Authorization Card , otherwise I had no way to prove that I am allowed to work. So it's just now that I can start changing my name on driver's license, etc.

I was wondering do you get your EAD before your AOS or is it the other way around? I am scheduled for Biometrics this coming Thursday and I was just curious what comes after. Also why is my timeline not showing?
I had my biometrics on December 1, about 2 weeks later I got an approval letter for my EAD. A few days after that I got our interview datefor Jan 20. Right after New Year's I received my Employment Authorization Card in mail.

When I submitted all the papers and supporting documentation for my AOS , along with my Birth Certificate I sent its translation and letter that this is my translation as I am sufficient in both Polish and English and translatet the document to my best knowledge. On the checklist what to bring with me to the green card interview they ask for a Certified Birth Certification translation. Does it mean that I have to take my translation and have it notorized, or do I need to have it translated by a professional again ?!

I am very excited as my husband and I will soon submit my AOS package.
I just have one question.
In the other forms making up the AOS package, is it all right if I make my full first name handwritten since it won't fit the box? My full first name is MARY FAE ARIADNE. The rest of the entries are typewritten though.
FAE
Yes you can. I did the same with some dates, because when I typed it , some of it got cut off. And then something else didn't fit it , so I just left it blank and when I printed the papers out I just filled in whatever was missing by hand. There was no problem with my application .

Yes, i believe it is only for people who involved with crime charges in the past. If he never done anything wrong, never have to deal with the police then he is safe to go.
Just out of curious, how long did your paper work process take to completed?
Thanks for your reply!
Our process was really fast . I mailed all the papers at the end of October 09, had my fingerprints on Dec 2, on Dec 14 I received a letter with the interview appointment for January 20. In the meantime I got the approval letter for my EAD and I received Employment Authorization Card in mail on Jan 2 . So I think everything is moving along really fast ... Now we just have to get through the interview .

My husband and I have our interview in a couple of weeks. With the letter with our interview date we recieved a check list of things we need to bring with us . One of them is police/court clearance letter. Is it just for people who had any trouble with law ? If I've never been arrested, do I need to obtain a letter from the police department stating so ?
Green Card arrived in todays mail
