  1. Ken,

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide me with details needed for the next steps. I will call the NVC tomorrow to give them our email addresses and get the status of our case. I have most of the items you listed. I will have everything gathered by the end of this week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Best of luck to you.

    Sok

  2. Hellow fellow Filers,

I recently filed an I-129F for my fiancee in Cambodia. My timeline is as follows:

    12/22/2009 -- Submitted I-129F to USCIS

    12/23/2009 -- NOA1

    03/03/2010 -- NOA2

    03/08/2010 -- NVC Received

03/08/2010 -- Started to gather documents needed for the interview

Being a newbie here, I am hoping to gain expereinces from other filers who have been there before me and will share my experience with future filers. Any tips you have for the rest of this long journey (dealing with NVC, Consulate in Phnom Penh, the interview process, POE: Los Angeles), will be much appreciated.

I just started using a pinless calling card from RebTel. It is more convenient and less expensive than most calling cards. It costs me 5.9 cents to call my fiancee on her cell phone in Cambodia. Check this out: http://www.rebtel.com

    Good luck to all,

    Sok (SokandVichhika)

  3. Hi,

I'm not entirely sure how to use this BBS, so I'm not sure how to add a new topic, but keep it in the Cambodian thread. I'm just replying to N Bohr (BTW, love the name)

Fellow filers and those who have "been there, done that" My fiance is very concerned about her interview. Please help me allay her fears. My fiance would like to also get an "engagement certificate" I don't know what that is exactly, but it sounds like that is crossing the line into legal contract territory, and I don't want to jeopardize my K1 status. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

"Engagement Certificate" aside, I do plan on having the engagement ceremony for her family. I understand that bringing some pictures to the PP embassy for the interview may help.

To all those who have passed your interview. Did you need to present proof of the engagement ceremony. Did you need to present the ring, or receipt for the ring. I want to get this right the first time. I've read that in some embassy offices, the engagement photos are actually a very bad thing to present.

Thanks in advance. I'm really glad you are here.

  4. Hello Fellow VJ's

My brother file a I-129F K1-Visa. His fiancee had her interview but she fail. They gave her a 221(g) fail slip and the reason is because they feel the relationship is fake. My brother has email and called the embassy multiple times but all they would tell him is "The case was sent back to USIC" it has been 6 months and the USIC still haven't received it. Is there anything he should do? What should he do?

    Please help!

    Hi Luckystar09,

If you don't mind, may I ask what is the latest status on your brother's case? Has he re-filed?

    Thanks,

    Sok (SokandVichhika)
