  1. To the OP

I totally understand where you are coming from. I was on a somewhat similar situation. I applied for a B2 visa and was turned down on my first visit and they told me to come back with stronger documentations. Although before applying, I have used my VWP 4 or 5 times to visit my then bf/fiance, now hubby. On my initial application for B2, they turned me down as I didnt present enough evidence. I then went back 2-3 weeks after with more evidence and was approved. Perhaps give it another go and apply again. As far as I can remember I brought: letter of employment, letter from my employer stating that I have x amount of leave available for me to take, lease agreement, letter from my landlord that my belongings are still in their property, bank statement and a letter of invitation from my hubby (reason for invitation: exactly the same as what you 2 are planning on), I also explained that with all my visits to US I did not overstay and came back home accordingly. And I emphasised we had no plan of breaking the rules to jeopardise my future travel or entry to the states.

    All the best.

  2. Nik+Heather, sorry to hear that you had another encounter with the infamous and problimatic issues with I-693. I'm sure you're on top of things and will get it all sorted out quickly. Best wishes.

Honey610, I am saddend to hear that your marriage is not working. I cannot give you any advise but I would like to extend my good and best wishes for your new challenge. I'm sure VJ can provide you with much needed advise. I hope things will work out well for you.

Goodluck to all those who are having thier interview soon!

  3. Congratulations, Evanscholly.

Our case didn't have that status (that I ever saw online). It went from pending to:

On March 11, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

I thought it was strange that we didn't get an approval notice, but figured it was implied. Perhaps this will be like the EAD, where the approval notice came days after the card was ordered.

My PR card arrived the day after I received the "welcome" letter. That was real quick. And it came with a special little envelope for it too. :) . Yours should come anytime soon.

  4. i have the proof of my vaccination record. not the whole medical exam because the hospital back home forwarded it to us embassy so i dont have any copy at all. so for the I-693 i only have to submit part 1 for information about me, part 2 which is the vaccination record and the last page which is the doctor's sign. is that right? i hope when i finally talk to the doctor on monday he'll understand it more and not have me do all the physical exam again! thanks for the quick reply.
  5. Farah,

It's hard enought to move to a new country and adjust to the new environment; and then be subjected to something like this. I'm feel bad for you.

Firstly, I think your husband needs to stop reporting to you what the mother & her partner are saying. This is just costing you alot of hurt and added stress. He needs to put his foot down. Secondly, start looking for another job and move as far away as possible (as what many have already sugested).

    All the best to you.

  6. RoyalT,

When telephoning USCIS : the first 3 letters on your case numbers are represented by numbers that are on the touch pad of your phone.

For example MSCxxxxxxxxxx M=6, S=7, C=2 . THerefore enter 672 following the numbers.

But as far as I know, it's an automated massage that would be similar to what you see on your online status.

That's why as why eltemp suggested speaking to an operator. . Maybe they could be of more help (but then again they may not be).

    Hope this helps.

  7. Buster, Good on you for fighting on. Best wishes and goodluck.

My husband and I are having the same problem with the medical. They requested that we submit the medical that was conducted overseas. Of course he does not have it. So in addition to replying to the RFE with a letter explaining that the medical was handed in at the POE and contactingthe senator's office, I contacted Knightsbridge doctors. They told me that they keep medicals for a year but they will only release it to the embassy if the embassy requests it. I emailed the embassy but I have not gotten a reply from them yet.

I hope the congressional inquiry will get your medical!

I don't understand why they won't release your results to you. As the patient/client you have all the rights to obtain your own medical results. Also, they should have given you a copy of these results after the medical.

  8. Count me in. I want to vent my own frustrations with the DMV and SSN people.

I was turned down, not twice but 3 times by the DMV here. We were so frustrated that the people behind the counters were not consistent with whatever requirements were needed to show them.

1st visit: We asked what documents do I need to show them to verify my legal presence. They told me that my I-94 was sufficient.

2nd Visit: Showed them my I-94 but it was expired. So I was declined. They could have told me that right from my first visit. They then told me to get a new I-94 (and I told them that you cannot do that). They then said NOAs from my AOS would be good.

3rd visit: Came in with my NOAs and surprise, surprise they turned me down again. They wanted an I-130 NOA. #######! I told them that it does not apply to my situation. But they were persistent that they could not do anything for me.

What made us so angry was that my husband have rushed to get his work done on those days just so he can drive me there.

Last week I received my EAD. Went straight to get my SSN and waited for 45mins to get to talk to someone. The guy behind the counter said I came in too early to apply for an SSN. What's up with that?!? He said that I needed to wait for 10 days (from the date my card was issued) and then show up at the SSN office. As what I understood, it takes 10 days for my name to show up in the SAVE database. Is that true?

So to save us from returning, he copied all my paper works and will re-enter my info today (11h day). I just hope he'll remember and not ovelook my papers.

    Just can't win. So frustrating.

  9. Has anyone thought about their pill? And how much they will take with them?

Oh um I know you weren't talking to me but I will be based in Sarasota FL.

    Candice

    Hi Candice

    Welcome to FL in advance!

I say take as many pill: 3-6 months worth, or up until he gets you into his insurance. They are a little pricy here. Make sure you have the script with you. I told the pharmacist that I was going overseas and they geve some form stating what the medicines were and that they were mine.

    All the best.

    Stephie

  10. Yea, I've heard that as well. I also received another email at 11:15pm tonight, that my EAD was approved. I mean, that's great, but where is the card already!?! lol :)

Got that e-mail too last night, that they have sent the approval letter. I asked the same thing, why not send the card instead? Just being impatient. I know I have to go down to get my SSN and probably more waiting to get it all cleared.

  11. I've been looking at other people's timelines that filed around the time I filed, e.g.

    Nik+Heather:

January 23, 2010: Biometrics appointment received (Feb 1)

January 25, 2010: Early Walk-in biometrics completed, EAD approved

January 28, 2010: AP arrives in the mail - valid from date of congressional inquiry

February 1, 2010: EAD card arrives in the mail - valid from date of congressional inquiry

I think the congressional inquiry may have sped things up for them. That's why theirs was a little quicker than normal.
