  1. greetings,

we received a notice i797c transfer notice it says:

"this is to advise you that i order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following office. . ." (the office is california). . .

i just wanted to know what stage i am in. in some posts i have read that this may mean we will not need an interview, is this true? anyone have an eta?

    thanks :)

  2. this question is probably in the wrong thread--i will post it here though since i am in the AOS stage of things. my wife just applied for AOS from K1 (we are waiting for NOA1) and also preparing for her entry into a community college. The financial aid available is through FAFSA (the usa federal government), so my question is: does receiving federal aid for college betray the sponsorship agreement I864?

  3. greetings,

so our k1 interview in jerusalem was 1 week ago (March 25) and it ended by their office giving my fiancee a 221 (g) stating that "in order to complete the processing of this case" we need to submit "the joint-sponsor's 2008 or 2009 tax returns". it went on to state "once these documents are submitted our office will contact you about turning in your passport." NOTE: they want the entire tax returns...I had brought only the first two pages and it was not enough. so we submitted the necessary documents the next day (march 26) and now the DOS tells me that the consulate has not put into its system that they have received the documents. my question is this: Am I in the dreaded AP? or is it likely just a matter of them getting around to seeing the tax returns and approving us? in other words: are you only in AP if they tell you your in AP--or is anything other than an approval/denial at the interview an Administrative Review/Processing

i very much hope this is a matter of weeks not months.

    thanks and good luck

  4. my friend, you have a while to go yet. it took us 6 months from NOA1 to NOA2, then another 5 for our interview. our NOA1 was April 23, 2009 and we still dont have visa in hand (although we expect it in the coming weeks. so sit back, relax (easier said then done) and try not to have a heart attack. in the end--and im not even at the end--i can tell you it is worth it. it is a long and cruel process, but worth it. read, learn, keep your stress levels down, save your money.

    good luck!!

  5. hey,

i just had my interview and they gave me a piece of paper saying that they could not finish processing my case until i turn in the sponsor's 2008 or 2009 tax returns.aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! my questions are: do i have anything to worry about??? and how much longer will this take?? the lady at the consulate was not the nicest, so i don't know whether or not my interview was succesful??? please someone tell me!!!

  6. does it cost 335$ plus 45$ surcharge to turn in the affidavit of support....???

    it says:

    * Affidavit of support (from the correct category below):

for most IV categories, a complete original I-864 from the petitioner with latest-year 1040, W2

and proof of US citizenship or LPR status, and, as needed, a complete original I-864 from a joint

sponsor with latest-year 1040,W2 and proof of US citizenship or LPR status

for IR2 applicants under the age of 18, a complete original I-864W signed by the petitioner or

    applicant over 14 years

for E,K, and SBI applicants, an I-134 from a sponsor with latest-year 1040, W2 and proof of

    US citizenship or LPR status

    * proof of petitioner's domicile in the US

    * High school diploma and/or evidence of work experience (DV visa only)

    * Payment of 335$ plus a surcharge of 45$ payable in shekels, in cash or with credit cards

    * Additional payment of 375$ is to be paid at the time of interview (DV visa only)

    * Birth certificates of all unmarried children who will not immigrate with you at this time.

    -----------------------------

so am i a 'K' applicant who has to bring the 335$ plus 45$?? thanks

  7. k1 visa interview taking place next week. i will be attending with the beneficiary, my fiancee. we know there is a 131$ nonimmigrant application fee (form ds230) and then they say for k filers there is an additional 380$. is this correct? i know i can pay the 131$ at the post office in israel, how/where do i pay the 380$?

    thanks

ps any tips for the interview are much appreciated!!!

  8. greetings,

my israeli fiancee and i are awaiting our packet 4, and I am thinking of joining her at her interview. I cant help but believe that if the only issue that could possibly stand in our way is the adjudicator believing (incorrectly of course) that our relationship is not legit than it is very much wroth it for me to be present and introduce myself to her/him. and although I have read in the previous months that Jerusalem welcomes the petitioners to attend, they just put up a small clause buried deep in their website that due to the high number of applicants they would 'prefer' the petitioner to not attend--although they do still allow it.

so, to attend or not to attend, that is my question.

  9. my patience is as strong as my disappointment. i know what i have to be, i don't know why I have to be it!

c'mon America! i love you but you keep people apart for too long! We need to do better as a nation. Much better.

this is one journey I wish I could have been without. the one journey i have to take. the hardest road is always the needless one. patience is not a virtue, it is a necessity, engrained in us all. patience is what is left after everything else has been brutally, savagely, taken.

if i must be patient it is not for patience's sake, but for my sweetheart. who on this journey is patient!? we are not patient we are eager, restless, and stressed! patience I would kill were it not immortal, strong, everlasting, ruinous to kill.

it is the patience that is trying my patience!

i am a rock, a mountain, patience must wait for me. i will wait for her.

i will wait eagerly, not patiently!

  10. Greetings all!!

I filed a I129F back in April 23, 2009 and we got NOA 2 nov 6. We are now waiting for Packet 3 which we have confirmation that it was sent from Jerusalem consulate Dec 10, 2009. My question is: how long before we receive this packet?! and how long after will we have our interview?!! this is taking forever!!

    good luck everyone!!!
