  1. Fiancee did not receive the letter from the Embassy in Manila stating that she can now pay the k-1 visa fee and schedule the interview. I called the Manila Embassy and was told that as long as she has the letter that the NVC sent me stating that i-129f petition was sent to the Embassy she can schedule the interview. Also I sent an e-mail to the NVC and the reply back also stated thet i-129f petition was sent to Embassy in Manila. She paid the k-1 visa fee and scheduled the interview appointment. Can she enter the Embassy with the interview appointment confirmation, my letter from the NVC and the e-mail reply from NVC?

Is she done with her medical at St. Lukes? She needs the medical result from the hospital when she go to US embassy.

  2. it is always amazing to me that people from 3rd world countries can take 6 month visits to USA, even when they are 12 years old, and are supposed to be in school. i guess people in 3rd world don't have jobs or school or anythign else they have to be home to do.

you're so rude and a racist!!! don't you know that a lot of filipinos excel in many fields? and by the way, your country wont be rich without the help of skilled workers from what you called 3rd world countries. be considerate of our feelings!!!

  3. congrats!!!!

have a happy life ahead of you.

God bless and be safe always.

    hello everyone!

I just want to share my happiness with you guys who'd help me in this journey. I just got my visa delivered directly to my house today. I had my successful interview last tue(Jan 19-2010), it only took 3days for me to have my visa. Thank you everyone for giving me prior knowledge on what to do since from medical to the final interview. I'm so glad i found this site that educate me about visa journey. I will continue keeping in touch with you guys as i know our journey hasn't end yet, but we already gain the most of it. Going through this experienced had brought me to a greater challenge in life...All i can say for those who will still have their interview: "If you felt you have already perfectly prepared all the necessary documents and have done your part but you still feel so stress out and worried....Just have faith in GOD and lean it all to him, then everything will be fine, thats the best armor for me". I'm so thankful mostly to GOD that he made us reach this far. To my fiancee...thanks for your love that serve as my strength for those times i attempt to lose hope. VJ people! Thanks MUCH! :star:

  4. everything will be fine, don't stress yourself too much. good thing we haven't encounter like this on our process. we just had 4mos and 14 days on process. my fiance filed the petition last aug 21 and my visa approved january 4.

    Good luck and God bless...

And now we have to wait !!!!!....Someone please tell me what is going on!!!!! MY last name is not common it is DeFelice so I know it can't be a false hit again!!!!! so what is the problem !!!! I am getting ready to give up on this process and maybe just move there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. congrats!!!

i got my visa last january 9, 2010. i had the guidance and counseling not really a seminar last january 12. after 3hrs i got a certificate from the counselling program and certificate and sticker from the CFO that cost 650 pesos.

    Goodluck and God bless

While I did get word that my fiance is approved...she said she had to go attend some seminar thing and I'm clueless as to what seminar she's supposed to attending. We never planned for her to do the CFO today since her plane leaves this evening so it can't be that. What seminar to they have at the embassy after approval? Hmmm. She's not answering her phone now.
  6. good day to everyone. here's our problem. my fiance is having trouble booking a same flight schedule since his ticket will be a round trip ticket and mine will be one way. he can't find same flight for my ticket and his ticket going back to US. what best thing we can do so we can have same flight going to US? tnx and God bless.

  7. in our case we did it by ourselves, my fiance filed our paper aug 21, 2009 and visa approved jan 4. sometimes getting an attorney will slow the process of your papers like a friend of mine they filed it May 2009 and till now haven't got a letter from the US embassy.

    we

reading through this thread, it seems most of you did all the paper work/processing yourself. i was thinking of going through an attorney that specializes in this type of thing - do any of you veterans have an opinion on that? good idea, if i want to make sure it's done correctly / followed through?

if it's a good idea, do you recommend a specific place to go through for a K-1?

  8. you can fill up the DS 156 online and after done filling up you can save it or print it. you will see a barcode after filling up the form. good luck

I have received Packet 4 from embassy in abu dhabi and just wanted to prepare the paperwork.

They are asking me to fill DS-156 and DS-157 forms online with barcodes on them. I checked DoS web page for visa form here http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html but they do not have a DS-157 to fill online. The only available forms online are DS-156 and DS-160.

  10. I had my interview last January 4, 2010 at 7am. Make a lil effort in dressing up but don't overdo it. I saw people there wearing jeans and shirt, well, nothing wrong with that but give an effort to make you look presentable and nice.

Don't forget to bring with you your documents, the DS forms accomplish in 2 copies, DS-156 form with photo paste on it, fiance's proof of income and your photo's together. Just relax and be confident in answering their questions.

Don't bring with you any electronic device, like cellphone. Foods and liquids are not allowed inside the US Embassy, they sell food and water inside though.

    Good luck!!!

God bless and be safe always.

Sage1's fiance and I are going to have our visa interview on January 19. Anyone else?

Last minute tips from brilliant minds?

  11. in our case, we just have my fiance's itinerary, boarding pass, airport taxi receipt, bus ticket, withdrawal slip from ATM machines, and our photos together with my families and relatives.

ok, i will remember reciepts with both our name on it. coz the last time he visited me here, he stayed at my friend's house, we dont rent a car coz my family have car, so we used that instead. when we went to other places, he payed the hotel in cash. so maybe this time we will use debit card. can i also use my debit card in paying and cani use it as a proof? or only his debt card? coz i dont want him paying all the bills.
  12. Good luck!!! (F)

    Gah!

Freaking out, even though no reason to. Good thing I have to work or I'd be a mess. She has every paper she needs, everything should be fine.

Interview is 1-14 her time 7 a.m., which is my time 5 p.m. tomorrow night, or about 31 1/2 hours from now (not that I'm counting haha).

Hope it will be fine, but no way am I giving up no matter what the result is. If I have to go there, get married, and start an I-130, so be it (if that's the next step, haven't even researched that part, trying to stay positive). I know for sure I found my wife and my perfect match, hope the CO knows it too.
