That's great news!! Glad they are keeping you busy!!! :bonk:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
Happy New Year to everyone and I hope Christmas was great for you all. All is well with me and the hubby. He wasn't able to go back for the funeral because we just could not get a ticket for him. He is ok with it though. He received his green card within three weeks. However, last week he finally went to apply for the social security card, so perhaps he will get it this week. He already has a job lined up for him and he is eager to work. He is studying for his driver's permit, but he has to wait for the social security card before he can go in and take it.

Jeez John!!! That is a bunch of stufffffffffffffffffffffffffff!!!! Best of luck to your wife Not too long now until you will know the results
Congrats on the approval!

and I was more pissed that I have to spend so much $$$ traveling back and forth, hired a lawyer and got ripped off, but that is done and over with since we are now married. Now they want a joint interview 4/1/11. Cant you believe April's Fool of all day? well hopefull all goes well at the interview. What is the waiting period for visa after the interview?
I hope you sent in a lot of evidence to prove the legitimacy of your relationship when you filed the I-130. My husband and I made sure to get everything in and checked every document thoroughly. I sent in pretty much all of our evidence (e.g. photos, letters, cards, money transfer receipts, phone records showing text messaging and phone cards) when I sent in the petition. Well good luck with everything.

Thank you guys for your support. My husband is understandable depressed about it and he may be traveling sometime next week. I just came down with the flu,and he is also taking care of me. I feel so bad for him. I'm trying to get better, hopefully before Christmas. I guess we are not having a good week.
However, I want to wish you all a happy holidays.

A bit of bad news guys. My husband's dad died last night. My husband did not receive his resident card or social security card yet. He wants to travel back to Guyana to make arrangements for the funeral. I'm not sure how to proceed. Does he file the I-131 and schedule an infopass? :( :help:

How do you schedule an infopass?

My wife got her interview at the American Embassy in Amman on Nov 2.
My wife sent in her passport and my original divorce docs (as requested) via Aramex on Nov 7. We are still waiting for her visa. She was told she was approved at the interview. She is pregnant in the second trimester now and we need to be together. I never knew it took so long to get the visa. I sent the American Emassy in Amman a second email on Dec 5 and I have not recieved a response as of yet. Hopefully, we'll get something soon.
Good Luck everyone!!!
  Good luck!

Thanks OBX. Hard to believe all this for one little paper not being the Original. And we got the original to them in 2 days. I just hope they dont find something else after all this waiting and then its back to the bottom again. Been there and done that. Well they cant mess with me much more. They have done their worst so not much more they can do. If push comes to shove I will live their. That will be good for the Philippine economy...ha ha
You know this all sucks and it is unfair. You will prevail though I know it.
jujuswife, Glad to hear about your hubby's U.S arrival. Now it is another honeymoon period Enjoy

jujuswife, I live in Westchester county
Loto
9 hours to go before the interview. Very cool!!! Good luck. So Westchester county huh, there might be a few of us Caribbean/Caricom people out there.
-
Loto, the international man, literally lol. Loto, don't tell me you live in, say, Brooklyn or Queens and you are surrounded by Caribbean people.
OMG Loto why are you understanding all this... geez you're so .. just too exposed...
Loto is too funny.
-
Silly me... I refreshed my screen to see if your timeline (in blue) was really counting down...
LOL, at first I thought, Loto has a strange countdown ticker. Then I started laughing at myself for even thinking that because it was obvious that he was controlling his own countdown ticker.
And I wouldn't say it is good bye because most of us will be active again on this site in two years. I will come bye and check out the site regularly though, so to keep up with the happenings. I have learned a lot on this site.

That is a manual update with lot of patience
Loto
I just love the puns. Lol
-
I had fun hanging out in this thread this month. The regulars were so supportive. Love you guys.
-
Thanks OBX
Loto
Loto, I hate the two-day hump of waiting. But as they say "patience is a virtue (no pun intended lol)." It will have paid off by Thursday for you and the family.
-
Yippppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Congrats to you juju!!!!! When is your husband's POE? Now you can rest a bit and prep the house and your life for your husband!!! Yay!!!
Good luck to those who have interviews today!
Thanks Teya!!! Well, tomorrow he will purchase his ticket after he picks up his passport. SO he will be her either on Thursday or Friday. I can't wait to see him.
I will be looking out for you; hoping that you get an interview date soon.
-
Good luck today to the last of the November crew!
-
That was a joke, jujuswife
Loto
Yes, Loto, I thought your joke was funny LOL. I guess I typed up my response so fast without thinking that it might be read different from how I wanted it to be read and understood. I guess I should go to bed now since I only has 2 hours of sleep last night lol
-
congrats jujuswife
Thanks!
nix and lai, how's the life in the U.S? Or still waiting for POE?
I saw your first post for jujuswife, then wondered jujuswife re-appearing for the interview again
Then got relieved after the second post - "Congrats"
Loto
LOL, I thought it was funny. I think my husband would pass on doing it again. lol.

Hey Ricardo,
Yeah, in New York they go by a points system based on the documents you have (Ids etc.) With his passport and Green card, he doesn't have enough points and he has no other documents to make up the difference. So he will have to wait for his social. Non, it took them (USCIS) a whole week to get his package from the airport and then a week to process and on Christmas eve he received his green card, yeah, the actual green card, lol. We sort of dragged our feet when it came to the social, because we really though they would send it. Oh well, that is life.
It looks like your parents were quite busy during their brief stay. They got a lot done. Now, back to warm Jamaica. Good luck with your brother's petition. I hope it doesn't take too long.
