My sister move her papers to Sydney Consulate and is waiting for an interview. She is still waiting. I think priority date is around September 2020 or was it DQ 2020 if I’m not mistaken. I need to asked her again.

Hi I have questions for my sisters F2B petition. It is now in NVC and we already paid the AOS. Waiting for it to clear for us to go on next step which is submission of the AOS. But was wondering if we can transfer the case from Manila US Embassy to Australia US Embassy. Since she is residing there right now and not in the Philippines. I’ve read somewhere this could be done.  Just want some confirmation/clarification if it’s true, and if it is HOW? Thanks

Got my passport today just an hour ago, they said I will get it on 8/22/16 but it arrived earlier than expected. Yey! And I didn't ask for expediting my passport I wasn't in a hurry and I feel that's just another expense that is not necessary. Anyway, if someone is kind enough to update my info please... No, haven't received PP yet. 8/14/16 means I was able to track it... I Just follow this format: UserName......|Expedited|Sent....|CheckCash|TrackDate|PP-Rec'd |PPCRD-Rec'd|NC-Rec'd|Location......but I didn't got their email till now. ? It's like delay. I thought I won't ever get an email from them since I register my email to receive updates and didn't get any until today. Because at their website, everytime I check, is updated than the email. I already know what's happening before I received their emails. For me, I think the email is just a confirmation if you don't check their website all the time. Don't worry yours will come soon.

Got an email today 8/16/16 that they finished processing my passport and it has been mailed to me. I should receive my passport on or about 8/22/16. Yey ?????? They mail it priority mail like everyone else here. So I guess I'll get it next week on Monday.

Added myself.... I only applied for my US Passport just now. Didn't get it after I was naturalized on 2/25/2010. Wasn't planning on traveling outside US since I petitioned my parents right away to come here 1st. I'm not sure if I'm gonna use it, but just in case maybe next year or so, I went ahead and got my passport.

To Update:

My parents received their GC on March 30, 2011. After 2 weeks and 5 days since they arrived here in US.

And their SSN arrived on April 4, 2011. 5 days after their GC arrived. (Weird bec they received their Welcome Letter on April 1st. Their GC arrived 1st before their Welcome Letter.)

We did went to the SSA office early in the morning before our mail was delivered on March 30, to apply for their SSN. We told the SS officer there that they tick off in their DS 230 that they want to apply for the SSN, she check their system that they won't be doing a multiple application for the SSN but since it's been 3 weeks (almost 3 weeks) she allowed them to apply there.

My parents now have their State ID and we're able to open a bank account for them. Yey! :dance:

It's just now that I have the time to post here again.

My parents arrived safe and sound. Thank God, especially when they flew on March 11. Good thing they didn't bought the ticket going to Japan. They would be stuck there if they did. (People in Japan has my prayers.)

Anyways, when my parents arrived in San Francisco they weren't harrassed or asked a LOT of question. They were only asked one question. And it's: Are you Happy? Happy Happy? LOL (Of course Happy, Happy)

My parents were overwhelmed of how big the airports were since it's their first time to fly here. And they have the same shock expressions as everybody when they first got their first serving of food. LOL

I already told them that they serve big here but they thought since they were hungry they can finished two orders. LOL They can't hardly finished the one serving!

I also thought they will be tired when they arrived but they had so much energy, it was us that went to bed earlier. The jet lag didn't hit them until the following day. Until now they are still adjusting in their sleeping timezone. They sleep when it's light here and wake up when it's night.

Our reunion is a BIG blessing and we're very very HAPPY to see each other again. :dance:

Now, for the welcome letter, Green Card and SSN. We haven't got any yet. They've been here for a week now but haven't got anything yet. How long do we need to wait for their GC? Should we call or wait? Where should we call?

When they ask the IO on their POE when they will get their GC they were told that they will get it 3-6 months. I thought it will be 1-3 weeks. Most of the people I know here in our area said they got theirs after one week too so I'm kinda wondering what happened to my parents' GC's. Also they got their SSN in the mail too after week they got their GC. They didn't went to a SSA office to apply since they already tick off their application for their SSN.

But I guess we could wait for a month still, I guess. There's still time. Just excited to be DONE.

I woke up 30 mins earlier to a phone call from my husband informing me of this news. He said the Northern Part in the Philippines are the ones affected.

I was glad that my parents also didn't choose the stopover flight there in Japan when they bought their tickets bec it was one of the options with the same price, instead they choose the direct flight. Thank GOD! If they did they will be stranded there in Japan. Their flight is today 3/11. They're on the air now. They're expected to arrived in San Fo at 6:30PM.

I was really worried. When I call my sister, she says they're okay there in PI.

My prayers to people in Japan and the ones that were affected in the Philippines.

In regards about USE Manila, I don't think they will stop the process.

Copies of your return, the one you submitted either in snail mail or electronically is acceptable.

The only difference I see is that the transcript is only one page. The copies are a bit more with it's supporting docs like your W2, medical receipts if you choose to itemize etc...

No need, my parents were'nt asked to gave anything during their interview. But I gave them my updated AOS just in case they will be asked for it. Because on the website: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3741.html

it says to ensure they bring the original docs and an updated AOS is included on the list.

Anyway, the letter NVC gave you for the case complete and schedule interview date has a list on what to bring, it's located on the last page of that letter.

The legend of their letter for NVC didn't state that they need to bring it since everything was okay and accepted, but I just want to make sure they have everything and since we already filed for our tax I gave them the updated AOS and ITR copy we submitted, just to be on the safe side.

PS: I also let them bring the copies of what I submitted throughout the process during their petition, just in case they lost it during transit from NVC to USE Manila.

I don't know if this will help you but it did to me. Before my parents went to their medical. I have my parents go get an xray test. Just to be sure, it's okay not to do it. It's just me, worrying...It was just my paranoia at work. LOL

But I had my parents present the result that their lungs are clear. At least it helps, though they still want to do their own test. But still, I have peace of mind that they will pass the test with flying colors.

I have my interview in 13 days. I found out today I have lost my job, and I have enough cash to stay here for 43 more days. April 1st I will need to leave the US and move back to Canada until I can get on my feet.

I heard from a Filipino that she didn't go to the Oath, and they just mailed her all of the information like passport app and naturalization certificate. Is it possible to not be present for it? My guess is I will be scheduled for an oath in April and I won't have the ability to fly down for it.

Thoughts/feedback would be appreciated.

The oath taking will take a month to schedule. If you have 43 days left minus 13 days for your interview you got 30 days left so a month is 30 days, you can stay for a week or 2 to have your US card/Passport made. Have it rush. A few days delayed to go back to Canada won't be that bad...You can find a way, maybe a friend or family/relatives can help you out during that time of waiting.
