Yeah it sucks big time. I am 21 years old, no working experience in US.

I have a New York state CNA licence.

No working experience as a CNA,so the chances of me getting a job in this field is close to none, since everywhere i applied to needs experience.

Currently doing EMT hoping to go on to paramedics, wondering if i will still be in this dilemma when complete.

Just got a job in a pretty good real estate agency, and you know how sticky it is now for this field now.

But I am approaching it with a bag full of optimism.

You just gotta try to make it work, you kno.

I've gotten gigs here and there, but it took me a while before i actually got a full time job.

I think its partly because I am a 21 yo with no working experience in the US. I Got my CNA state licence about two months ago, and transformed my self into a shark for the past couple weeks on a job hunt. But, everywhere i applied to is giving me the "you need x amount of experience" when i follow up. And, " volunteering isn't counted as experience, you need payed experience." Where will i get this "payed" experience from? How do i start the cycle? Its so frustrating, but oh well.

The other thing is, its like if you don't know someone where you are applying to, its hell hard to get that job.

Example. my aunts friend got her CNA state licence a week before i did.

We applied to the same place in the same week.

My aunt's friend had a friend there, so within a week she got called, SHE HAD NO EXPERIENCE IN THIS FIELD.

2 months later, i called them. Their response, "we have alot of resumes now and they are on file, we will call you when we get to yours."

But i ant hating, i need a friend that can pull some strings for me too.

So here I am doing Real Estate, for now

Hope it wont be has hard getting a EMT job when i'm done with these classes.

I hope your request didn't slow down the process. I sent in a request to expedite my EAD too, now my green card is approved and i still haven't received anything but the EAD Receipt notice.

How do you get your timeline as your signature after you comment?

If there was something else wrong with your application, they would have addressed it in your noa.

We sent in $1080 and also made a wrong selection on section two of the I-485, and they addressed them both.

All we did was scratch out the selection we made, and chose the correct one, then sent it back just as how we received it with the correct fee $930 and $80(separate money orders).

We got a RFE because i did not send in a medical. Now we are awaiting our may 11 interview

The letters have to be notarized... I assume you guys have a co-sponsor, right? Is it her parents? You can give the IO a letter from them stating that you live with them and don't pay rent or bills. I think you'll rely heavily on her parents for this whole thing. They could sign affidavits as well, saying your relationship is bonafide and they've agreed to let you guys stay there while your wife is pregnant.

With the bank account, my husband just added me to his own. I'm not sure that I could open one without a SSN but I was allowed get a debit card for HIS account and my name is now on the account as well. So if your wife opens it, you might be able to get yourself added to it, you just can't be an account-holder. If you know what I mean.

Yes we do have a co sponsor.

Me and my wife(USC) are pretty young, both of us 20yo, and been dating since we were 15yo.

We are currently living with her parents, just until we get over this immigration process.

My wife is still in school, with about a year left to complete. We pay no bills, no mortgage.

I just hope that won't be a problem.

When i came here on vacation last summer things happened, and we decided to sort of elope.

Planned to keep it a secret from our parents for a long while until we finished school, but then even more things happened, and my wife said there was no way she would cope with a lil pumpkin growing in her belly with me so far away. So everyone found out, and i decided to stay.

you will need to show any proof that u guys are living together in the same residence as a married couple..

lease, bank accounts, car ins, health ins..

she looked to see that our addresses were the same on id cards..

she asked us both how we met and how many times we had visited each other.. she asked why i love him.. she wanted to know why my husband loved me, he wasn't detailed enough for her, so she asked like 3 times LOL

a few questions she asked over and over to make sure he would say the same thing each time..

be confident and don't show that ur are nervous..they are watching ur body language..

i am not trying to scare u, the interview is pretty straightforward and easy, just heart wrenching. we were approved the same day even tho IO told us she was concerned due to my husband being very nervous and we also didn't have much evidence because my husband had JUST got his EAD a week b4 the interview so i was only able to get him on my health ins only..

as long as u have ur ducks in a row u will be fine

if anyway possible i would try to have ur wife come.. they are very suspicious already of our kind of petition, no reason to raise more eyebrows, they want to hear from her.. they may not say anything about it or at worst they would reschedule. i would not risk it

We have nothing together really but a bunch of pics and some other things. Can't get anything done without a ssn(sigh), and thats been a mess. I sent in the I765 app last December, but it got rejected along with my I485 because of some wrong info on the I485.

I corrected and resubmit, got NOA for I485 receipt, but nothing for I765. Called i was told to wait 90 days. I waited 90 days only to find out they dont have it in there system. So i resubmitted it about 2 weeks ago along with a copy of I485 receipt n, then called yesterday to find out if they received it, and they told me to wait 90 days again. I told the person what happened the last time and they said i just have to wait again....

So, i don't know what to do about that. I cant wait to get over with this.

My big question is, will the pictures and notes be enough?

The only thing we might have together is a birth certificate with both our names on it, if our little girl comes on her due date(may come up to 2 weeks later since its my wifes first pregnancy)

I got married while visiting last year, and after tonnes of ups and downs, sending forms back and forth, i got an interview date at Garden city.

I notice there is a lot of concern with this getting married while visiting, and some saying it is illegal and such. Should i be worried? what should i expect at the interview?

1. I have a few pics with me and my wife in Jamaica, some from back in high school, tonnes of notes and emails from a few years back.

Is there anything else i need to take in as evidence, other than what they requested in the letter?

2. My wife is due to give birth may 4, with interview date may 11.

Its likely that she might not be able to come. In that case, should i just take in her information, passport, birth certificate,

along with the birth certificate of our lil princess? would they reschedule?

3. What is the interview like? Does any of you have any experience at the Garden City service center in NY worth sharing?

Resubmitted both January 6.

Received I485 NOA January 14 2010. No NOA for I765.

Called customer service center. A customer service rep told me I had to wait 90 days for a response on the I765.

I waited, did biometrics during that waiting period. 90 days passed, no NOA. 100 days passed, no NOA.

Called customer service. Rep told me theere is no record of a I765 i sent in.

This felt like game over, because now i have to resubmit, and wait another 90 days :S.

Is there any possible way i could get this case expedited?

A friend of mine offered me an electrician job with the boilers, but i couldn't start since i had no permission to work. So i told the guy i would be able to start sometime in march, because i should get the work permit by then.

My wife is also due to give birth 5 weeks from now, and she is still in school, so i need to star working asap.

So i was asked to send the I-130 NOA or other evidence, so i guess the receipt number along with a printout of the case update should be good enough. i hope to hear from them soon

I misplaced my I-130 NOA

is it ok to send the receipt number along with my I-485 application, since i won't be able to send the I-130 NOA?

or will that only result in a rejection?

One reason my i485 was rejected was because i didnt include the NOA for the i130

I lost my I-130 too. When I called, I was told i could request one for a fee. But I don't see any reason, why one would request to replace an I-130 NOA. No need for it if you know your Receipt Number. Thats all that you need. I never requested for its replacement. I extracted my NOA receipt Number from the Check that I sent with the application and used that for for further filing till my I-130 was approved and subsequently the I-485 too.

You might get lucky - I have seen a few people get a free one sent - but most likely - they will require payment...

been researching your issue and most of the ppl in our situation(AOS from visitor/student/work visa) checked BOX A, but that is if they either file for i130 and i485 at the same time (me) OR they have an NOA for an i130 already filed and send it in..

is your I130 is still pending or do you have your approval/NOA???

w/out that concurrent filing status OR the i130 NOA, im not sure..

go to this link where ppl are filing JUST like us and ask, and you WILL get ur answer, i know this is an easy question, it just hasn't been touched on by someone in that situation yet..stay encouraged

yes i did get a NOA. wont know if its approved until 5 months after filing it according to the uscis. so i guess i'll kno some time in February. I cant find that NOA for the i130 so i made a infopass appointment to see if i can get a copy

Did you include a copy of the NOA (1 or 2) from the I-130 along with your I-485 submission? If so, you should be good to go. The $1,010 needs to be one check (and the correct amount). Time to re-submit with the correct payment in the correct manner.

No i didnt include the NOA. :C i cant find it. been searching for hours

as said yesterday you have to send the correct amount 1,010$

to Q 2 ; yes there is a choice section H , if not enough space is provided write on a blank papper and attach it ,

I would also attach a copy of the I 130

( if you missplaced it I dont know if they can send you another copy , but try to find it as USCIS documents are important you never know when you have to show a copy of any document they send you )

I received a rejection notice after filing the i485 and the i765

Reasons

1) The check amount is incorrect: Filing fee $930. $80 fingerprint fee.

Please resubmit with appropriate fees

I sent a total of $1080. i guess its over the amount i should have sent. But a friend of mine sent more than the amount when he was filing last year, and they only sent back the remainder, not the whole package.

2) The application/petition has not been fully completed:

invalid part 2 application type other basis of eligibility

provide form i797 if the petition has been filed/approved on your behalf.

I got married while visiting. there was no clear choice on part 2 of the application for my situation so i chose other basis of eligibility.

Is it that i should have sent in the i797 from the i130 we filed? Don't they already have it in their system?

if i made the wrong selection in part 2 of the application, there is no other option for me to mark. or is there?
