  1. Hi Tint!

Since the name on your wife's GC doesn't match her passport, I'd suggest that you (1) register you marriage in Taiwan and (2) go to your nearest consulate or the embassy in DC and get a new passport w/ your wife's married name on it. That's what I did.

I opted to change my name on my foreign passport out of an abundance of caution, but if your wife is not able to renew her passport w/ her married name, I'd suggest traveling with an official copy of your marriage certificate, along w/ a certified translation if you did not get married in the US. I hope that helps!

  2. Hi everyone,

I received my receipt and extension letter in the mail yesterday and tried to log in to USCIS to check on my status, and the computer (and phone) said the receipt number was not valid or not "available' at this time. If this normal? USCIS received my I-751 on January 12. How long do you think it'll be before the receipt number is recognized by the website?

    Thanks!

    -M

  3. Is is a good idea for a couple applying for I-751 to include wedding pictures from both the civil ceremony (2007) and the religious ceremony (2009) given the time difference between them? Both ceremonies happened in the US and the reason for the difference between one and the other was for the couple to save money for the more elaborate religious ceremony.

Could it be counter productive to submit pictures of both ceremonies with the I-751 paperwork?

    Thanks!
