Hi you need a paper from the us federal building that says your eligible to marry and that your not married now. and also you don't have to call the us embassy in Casablanca just stop in and they will do it for you.

  2. This evening when I tried to log into the USCIS website to check for any activity I was not able to log in and I got the following message

"It was reported to us that your computer or internet gateway has been locked out for a select period of time. This is due to an unusually high rate of use. If you feel this has occurred incorrectly, please contact the Customer Service Center for assistance at 1.800.375.5283."

Has anyone else every had this happen to them? I do log in once or twice every day just to check for touches or other activity but I never expected to get locked out.

yes the system is down for the next 4 hours they said

  4. Houssain has the Visa, in his passport, in his hands! :D Alhamdulillah! Allahu Akbar! (L) I am so relieved, I cried when he told me.

It almost didn’t happen. The consulate was supposed to have the visa ready this past Friday, but they lost some forms, so Friday was spent with him taking new forms to the consulate. They told us it would be ready Monday, then I called Monday and they said it will be ready Tuesday. I called Tuesday, and they said it will be printed Tuesday. Well, they actually printed it this morning (Wednesday) and called Houssain. They told him to come pick it up tomorrow (Thursday). He can’t, because he has to work. So, he mad rushed to the train station to get the next train to Casablanca and be there about 3:45. (Keep in mind, he had to be there before 4:00 to pick up the visa today.) Well, the train was delayed due to some issue, and he did not arrive in Casablanca until after 4:00 (oh no!) He grabbed a taxi and ran to the consulate! (he told me “I was running like a thief, like I stole something!” LOL) The security guard told him “sorry, they’re done for the day” and would not let Houssain inside. Houssain went to the window, and saw a man that recognized Houssain from last week. (Houssain and this guy actually got into a heated discussion last week, and this guy actually told Houssain “Do you want the visa or not?”, but that’s another story)

So, Houssain asked this guy “PLEASE PLEASE let me have the visa today. The train was supposed to be here on time, but it was late.” Houssain showed the guy the train ticket as proof. The man said some snippy remark about being late, but he gave Houssain the Visa and the paperwork for his point of entry when he gets to New York!

Alhamdulillah! (may Allah bless that rude little man!)

So, tomorrow my honey goes back to work after his holiday, and we start the process of planning his trip. I know he has to work for the next month, before he can leave his job. So, we are probably looking at sometime in the 1st/2nd week of March for his arrival, insha’allah. It would be so awesome if we could be married on March 20th, which is the first day of Spring (kind of symbolic of new beginnings).

I wish the best to everyone, as always.

    Jennifer

  5. yesterday my hubby was out and out denied while i stood and watched alot of k-1 people and women come out the consulate smiling and happy...what a crock!!!

no ap/ar...they said they were sending it back and didn't believe my hubby....i went to the window and of course they wouldn't let me in to speak to anyone...i called all my state rep. right away and the consulate called and gave us another appt set for next week....

i am very angry about this.:angry: ...more than angry...someone from the govt needs to look into what is happening at this consulate...alot of good honest people are getting denied for no valid reason...

what i would like to know is...if anyone had this occur in casa and what was the outcome of their second interview? also if they can put us in ap after a denial or have to approve it or what?...we are not sure what to do now....i want to be one step ahead for whatever happens...does anyone have any input on this type of situation?....and how do i file a rebuttal if it is needed?

hubby told me that the CO went and returned several times to talk to another CO...he was going to put us in AP at first then after he spoke with the other CO he returned and said denied...

any help and advice will be greatly appreciated alot.....thanks everyone

  9. First, I want to say thank you to everyone who had Bijad and I in their thoughts and prayers. God is good.

Bijad got a hold of me around 8:45 am my time and this is what he had to say. “So, I did that interview today, the interviewer said our file and everything was ok. All of the questions were about my Teresa. He asked me about you in person and I was answering everything. I gave him all of my paperwork and they took my passport and told me that it was ok to go. Finally he gave me a paper and it said, “Your application requires administrative processing. We will notify you by phone to complete all procedures.” The man was so kind and was talking very kindly. I think everything was perfect.”

I only got to speak to him for a few minutes because I was teaching. He is now with his sister in Casablanca and I can’t find her phone number or I would call him right now. :D He plans to return to his village tomorrow, within the city limits of Chefchouen. I can’t wait to talk to him again. I want to know everything about his interview. But at this moment, being so thankful this is over, giving thanks to God and thank you too!!

    Teresa

Congrats! Sounds like the interview went well El7amdulilah ... Insha Allah soon you both will be together.
