  1. Just don't miss any appointments. That's all there is to it.

In addition, make sure you still meet physical present and continuous residence after the trip.

Don't forget to tell your interviewing officer about the trip...

As long as the three statements above are true, there should be no problems taking as many trips as you wish...

  2. Ceremony was awesome, they were very cool and the judge was nice and cool!!!!

    I'm really happy!!!

They stated in the letter we should be there at 1:15pm and the ceremony was gonna be at 2pm (my letter had that information because I got it when I went to my inopass after missing the other ceremony. lol).

We got there before 1pm, checked in, gave the green card back (I gave them my old green card and employment authorization too).

The ceremony started a few minutes late but it was beautiful!!!

Then hubby, brother in law and I went for dinner. yay!

I will do the updates another day because it was over 3pm and we would have to go to different places, so, my husband will be on vacation soon and we will use one day to do all the updates.

I had this wonderful event today and I offer it in honor of my father in law who passed away in Dec 2010 :( and he was supposed to go out for dinner with us today.

Thank you God for staying with me during all my journey.

Thank you visajourney.com and VJ friends for all the help.

Thank you USCIS for allowing us with such honor.

    :luv:

    Congratulations!!!

  3. My suggestion - which is what I also did - is to be over prepared than under prepared. Take originals and copies of items you've already submitted. In addition, go over the application and remember the dates on it (travel, marraige, birthdays, etc...)

They may not ask for anything or they may ask for many things - no one understands their behavior.

Greencard, DL, passport, children birth certificates(if you have children)...

    That should do it

    Congrats!

  4. Hi,

1- for part 3 (information about you)

question F: are either of your parents US citizen?

My father was a US citizen but he passed away, do I have to still answer yes or no?

Read the instructions as they requested.

2- for part 4 (addresses and telephone numbers)

question B : should I write my address again if it is the same as my home address in question A?

    Yes, write the same information

3- for part 7 (time outside the US)

question C : I took a trip outside the US that lasted for exactly 180 days(from 1/30/11 to 7/29/11) the question asks if my trip took 6 or more months? should my answer be yes or no given the fact that 180 counts for 6 months if we consider every month to be 30 days but few few months were 31 days?

Tough one - technically, your trip was not 6 months as some would consider 1/30 to 7/30 6 months... however, you need to enter the number of days and the IO will probably determine that. Try to go through the Naturalization guide as I remember a form to fillout that will assist you with that.

    Thank you very much

  5. I doubt they will ask as the signature on the application is not the "official" one. When they complete your interview, they will ask you to sign it again and that's the official signature.

I agree with the previous posters that the travel dates, certain anniversaries are more likely to be asked. I remember in my interview that the IO asked me about if I still live at the address I listed as current and if I work at the company that I listed current. No address, just verified it they are still valid.

  6. The questions are asking for one answer, so only memorize one (or two if you want to feel confident).

The civics exam is way easier than we expect. Just stay calm... it will go by so far that you won't even realize it.

It is good you are prepared for the N-400 answers. They sometimes like to ask questions from it and other times they don't - but if you are prepared and know what you've answered, then you are in good shape.

When you are reviewing your civics - have someone ask you questions randomly

    Good luck!

  7. You are splitting hairs here. One thing I do want to recommend is that since you are applying right when you are eligible, I would wait until you come back... Ree presents a good comment that you are traveling and how will you fill your application on trips? You can enter when you return but what if something happens and you extend/shorten your trip...

Since there is no deadline, you can wait until you come back and get things taken care of.

That being said, the answer to your question is yes, you can apply since you are eligible, but the little wrinkle mentioned above should not be overlooked.

I was eligible for several months when I applied for citizenship, but I decided to take a conservative route and wait until all the possible issues were taken care of in my case - I moved twice (knowing that I will) so I waited around 6 months so all my paperwork is filed at the same residence and not rely on USPS and USCIS to forward mail and change address.... that's just me, but everything went smooth and I never had to think back and wonder why I couldn't wait. Sometimes "cutting corners" could intorduce delays at USCIS that take much longer than the couple of weeks you are trying to eliminate at the beginning.

    my 2 cents!
