  1. Where are you in the immigration process? Your timeline hasn't been filled in. In fact, your country is listed as Armenia.

I presume you are the beneficiary. If you have a green card or AP then you can travel outside the US. There will be two sets of requirements.

First, you will be visiting the foreign country as a national of your native country, which I presume is the Philippines - NOT as a US national. Some countries will allow visitors from the Philippines without a visa, but would require a visa from a US citizen. Other countries are the opposite - a US citizen can visit without a visa, but a Filipino requires a visa. Some countries may accommodate an LPR similar to a US citizen, with limitations. Still others will require a visa from either a US citizen or a Filipino. You need to contact the consulate of the country you want to visit to determine if you'll need a visa.

Second, there is a limit to how long you can remain outside the US without running into immigration problems in the US. If you have AP then you must return before your green card interview. If you miss the interview then your green card application will be considered abandoned, and your AP will not get you back into the US. If you have a green card then you can stay outside the US for up to six months without problems. Beyond six months the CBP may screen you to determine if you've established residency in another country. Beyond one year the CBP will presume you've abandoned your residency unless you applied for a reentry permit before you left, or you obtain a returning resident visa at a US consulate abroad. Beyond two years you will lose your green card.

thanks a lot for the information,,i really appereciate this

    godbless

  2. The Alien Beneficiariy's (you) birth certificate is not needed for the I-129F petition sent to USCIS. You do not need to send it.

It will be needed by you for the interview stage at the US Embassy in Manila.

ok,,thank you so much for the information that u gave.

    Godbless.

As far as I can tell, you're supposed to keep it for your interview.

    thank you. :)

Welcome to VJ!!!! and it is a great site...

My fiancee' has just arrived in the states and we did get our visa with out an attorney and mostly made it thru the process with Info learned from this site!

The best advice I can give is to go to the guides and READ.. then when you find details that are still unclear or unresolved by the guides then post specific questions... And keep in mind that there are things in the process that are consulate specific... i.e. procedures in Manila may be different that in japan or vietnam.. so also read up on your consulate!...
