  1. Don''t be suprized and keep a close watch on your email visa's have been moving alot fairly quickly lately...it hasn't taken me as long as others and a few of my friends even shorter amout of time...if you have your NOA get the nexts steps done quickly and the sooner you finish the quicker you will gain inter view my friend CR1 got approved in June I believe got to NVC and cleared by October and got interview date Dec 29 2011 So it is moving along...there in Ghana....Good Luck...God Bless....

Congrats! where did u file your petition? I mean what service center?

  2. My husband I just went through this even though we are CR1 take alot of pictures of you and him and family and friends ,,, letters written back and forth...chats....email records, phone records for him and you and just be prepared to just hand them over the embassy there isn't very helpful if you don't have your records in had ready to give them and they are in a folder they consider you not ready and will tell you to sit down without any other insturctions and then call you againl later...I was present at my husbands first interview it did not make any difference..... he had to go back for a second time anyway....but after the second time when he was alone and took in what they asked for he was approved.....but then the pick up date is like a month after the approval.... I hope this information helps you....

For IR-1/CR-1 Visa ,Let your husband go with the copies of documents you submitted for the petition.having enough evidence with is better than lacking them at the time of the interview.

Go with as much as you can lay your hands on.

    Best of luck

  3. I don't know what your circumstances are but my husband was just approved Dec 5th...I am older than he and of a different race as well.. I was there on the first interview and it didn't make any difference ...the Embassy in Ghana I have found to be quite rude and unhelpful....I don't know why they reason they gave for the denial either but I don't believe it has anything to do with age or race....as there have been many of us get approved with age difference and our races not being the same.... You need to find out why you were denied to start with and then see what it takes to correct that and then contact Embassy requesting new interview.... If it was based mainly on K3 those are obsolete and I believe get denials you need the I-130 for a immigrating spouse and all that entails...they are very hard on the I-864 on people but see what the reasoning was and and go from there...I just went through all of this with my husband...Hope the info helps..

How can we request a new interview pls am the husband. This is really eating me up so much.

  4. I saw in the past threads that IRS Tax Transcript is a requirement at Ghana. If you have submitted those, you should be fine. However we all take copies of I-130, I-864, DS-230 & DS-3032 may be just to give us confidence and in some case they help when some document is missed between NVC and Consulate (Don't ask me how but they happened). Of course you need to take the evidence of continuing relationship - photos, financila inter-mixing, random email/ skype.....

You will need to have tax transcripts for current year when interview comes especially for Ghana... I'm taking 4 years tax transcripts I interview in Ghana next week with my husband...You can never have enough evidence...

  5. good luck with finidng a flight, visa etc, for some odd reason return tickets are wayyy more cheaper than single tickets, so its best to always buy a single when traveling to the usa, the cbp dont really care if u have a visa what ticket you got if they ever did ask, im sure the true answer of ''well its cheaper'' would be sufficent enough

i have always traveled Delta to Ghana and have been in skymiles program racking up those miles...I talk to them today and the lady told me it takes about 80000 skymiles for my huband to travel one way to where we live so don't forget if you got any skymiles it can save you money also......Hope this helps We have interview in Oct 2011 and I'm praying it is only going to take the one trip....We have sent in everything and been married almost 2 years and we have even more evidence to provide. So I'M SPEAKING WITH CONFINDENCE IN THE LORD HE WILL RETURN HOME WITH ME THIS TIME!!! GOD BLESS

  6. I was told to call after the 15th of every month and they would be able to tell me if I would have an interview the next month. So try calling NVC every month and see what the say.... You may find out faster that way.... cause I hear when they schedule it ...for a CR-1 it is 30 days after the date they tell you so it you don't have long to gather things together and get them in order for interview including medicals and so forth. But that is all I know and that is what I do starting this month....

Good Luck and I wish everyone would be nice enough to post when they recieve interview dates it would help some of from going completely crazy from waiting....

  7. It never hurts to try as long as you have a legit excuse.

I tried and a letter from a Nurse and doctor but they denied it right off ..... I'm bipolar and have servere anxiety and a heart condition along with other things and this process makes all of it much worse even get suicidal sometimes and having my husband here would stop alot of that and they denied it............So don't know what else to do looking at another year and honestly with my illnesses not sure how to survive that long just for an interview date...........Thanks to everyone who responded I appreciate the help.

  8. Does anyone know of anyone that has successfully expedited their interview for a cr-1 case... I have illnesses and need my husband here we are only waiting on interview to be done all other things have finished I tried to expedite with one letter from a doctor but if I could get a few letters from doctors I wonder if that would make a difference. 'Anyone know the circumstances that has to be made clear to actually get and interview expeditied. ? All information I can obtain on anyone who has sucessfully expedited their interview process would be helpful.. Thanks so much....

  9. Has anyone heard of any new CR1 interviews in Ghana beyond the few listed on VJ for March? Just trying to keep up with the progress and like knowing that the line is moving even if it is moving slowly. I know vj only represents a small percentage of people going through the visa process - but, please, please, please - anyone going through the process in Ghana create and keep your time-line up to date. Information provided on his website has helped out so many people going through the visa process - the least we can all do is to create and keep our time-line up to date. Based on vj time-lines looks like we are still behind by a year waiting for our cr1 interviews. The last interviews listed seem to be filers whose process called at the NVC around January, 2010.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. (F)

I know there are others you haven't updated or have a timeline who recently had interview and or have an upcoming one this month... I really wish everyone would do the time line and keep the rest of us updated as well.. Hope people pay attention to this post and start letting us know... I'm in this waiting line with you.... and a year from now seems ridiculous to wait.... but I guess that is all we can do....

Happy Valentine's Day to Everyone also.... I know you all are missing your loved one as much as I am mine.....

  10. Congrats!!!!!! Glad you decided to share can't wait to hear more detail about interview..since I'm waiting on an interview for my husband. Always appreciate reading things and good news especially here from everyone and the support given. Just wanted to thank you for coming in and sharing your timeline and experience. Thanks everything concerning cr-1 helps with us who are still waiting.

  11. Yeah there is alot of scam there from some and since he has an odd situation and things it is something I would want a background check on... if you read the posts here before there sometimes traditionally married which is not legally recognized in the states but in the families. and sometimes only marry to be able to bring rest of family to the states. Don't know much bout your situation but looks complicated and scary and trust me his process is hard enough without even more complications...Best of Luck...

  12. My opinion is they telling you that the K-1 expired and you said you were denied so you can't file to reopen your K-1 cause it has expired but you don't qualify for k-1 any more since you are now married... you have to file cr-1 but it would be good to know why your K-1 was denied so you can make sure you won't have the same problem during this process of a cr-1....

  13. Hello VJ friends!

I want to stop by to announce that my visa has been approved this morning! If you recall from my previous post, my first interview was on December 23rd, 2010. While it went very well as posted previously, I didn't have tax transcripts for 2008-2009 and I was asked to return with those documents on January 12, 2011. I went this morning and nothing was asked again. I just submitted the tax transcripts and the consular officer lifted the approval stamp and stamped "APPROVED" on my documents and handed me a blue visa collection slip to pick up visa on January 21. Praise God!

In all, it was not as stressful as I read on several forums and both consular officers were very nice and professional! I can't wait before I meet with my 23 months son and wife and it's going to be wonderful as well as fantastic! I'm going to get ticket this afternoon!

Thank you all once again for your wonderful contributions to this forum! I pray that y'all have smooth interviews and be approved without any stress! God bless us all!

Congrats....I know you are so excited and I'm so happy for you and getting to meet your child for the first time is going to be so awesome....Enjoy and again congrats...

  15. Your all very welcome I wished the one's getting the interviews would post and keep us here updated when interviews come about. Sometimes I find out on accident... But wanted to share with everyone... We all need some hope this holiday season, especially for our loved ones to one day soon be here with us. I pray things aren't as bad as they seem but I have a few friends still here that been waiting a year for an interview and still haven't gotten a date yet. But totally understand, there is much disproportions in visas going on. Just keep praying and hanging in there that is what I have to do as well, it isn't easy to say let alone do....

    Best

    Wishes for You all.

    God Bless

  16. Recently a couple of my friends here have been issued an interview in Ghana...for the CR-1/IR-1 They all have been waiting a year for this interview date to be given. They were notified by email on Dec 8 and the interviews are set for Jan 2011.

Neither of them have a timeline set up...so it is not obvious to everyone. Just thought I would send out some hope for all those still waiting and those of us that have just begun.

Best Wishes to Everyone...Hope to see your interviews posted soon.

God Bless & Merry Christmas... Just wanted to share some hope to those still waiting...

  17. I totally understand your frustration William.. and feel deeply for you... Seems to me like NVC is doing some stalling for who knows what reason.. I just got RFE for my brothers marriage licesnse cause he is a joint sponsor with me and his wife... But they say I can't send in the evidence til I actually get the letter well it been a week now and no. letter, have emailed them but no response so they are delaying me by requesting for info but not allowing me to send it til they send me cover sheet. It is craziness...

I pray you will get an interview soon. God Bless
