Sorry to burst your bubble. Unless she's a citizen, she can only petition for children or spouse into the US under an immigrant visa.
she's a USC.

Hi, recently I helped my wife file for her parents. I've been searching around for a rough estimate of how much longer it will take for the process but could not find anyone going through HCMC. The Immigrant Visa Application Processing fee was just paid and getting ready to send in the application next week. thanks

for the marriage certificate and other foreign docs, is it necessary to have a translator translate it? back when I filed the i129 for my wife I translated everything myself and it worked.
did you send both petition in one envelope or separately? thanks

Raj, thank you for the great info.

your wife does not need a green card to go to Vietnam, She needs a Green card to renter America.
also you need a Passport to travel to and from Vietnam.
A 10 year green card is not a passport to travel. It lets you stay in America and lets you work. Your wife does need a passport.
Hi Robert,
thanks for the response. FYI, she does not need to have a passport to enter vietnam. a valid green card and a visa from vietnam would be enough to enter (my wife have been back using her GC and visa). The problem I have is that the date on the GC has expired but technically it is still valid for another year with the NOA1 letter. I was just concerned that vietnam customs would not recognize that letter. thanks

hi, have any here or their spouse traveled to Vietnam with an expired green card and NOA1 letter? my wife went to buy a ticket today and was told by the travel agency that Vietnam won't let her in with an expired GC and NOA1 letter which extends the GC another year. she was told to get a VN passport instead which cost like $450. she doesn't need the passport since she will be getting her 10yr green card with in the next year (hopefully). Please give me some info on this issue..thanks guys.

hi, I did search for info but it was not clear. I know that you can enter the US with an expired green card and noa1 letter but what documents are require to enter Mexico? any info would be appreciated.

hi, just a quick question. We recently moved to our new place a couple months ago but have not inform USCIS about the address change yet, now it is time to apply for Petition to remove conditions (I-751) since my wife's Green Card is expiring this August '08. What do I need to do? should I have the address change before I submit I-751 or just put the new address on the form? please feel free to give any additional info, tips you might have to speed up the process. I hope to get the new GC by January of next year for an overseas trip. thank you

I believe however with a passport and a Green Card you can visit Mexico, I can't say for definite for you however as you don't say what nationality your wife is.
she is Vietnamese

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but... we are planing to travel to Cancun Mexico for a vacation but I'm not sure if my wife needs any kind of documents to enter Mexico and enter the US when we come back. She has a 2 year Green Card that expire 08/2008, do we need any kind of Visa to enter Mexico? We've traveled back to Vietnam earlier this year with no problem entering the US when we got back. Does any one have experienced this situation or know what is needed? Thank you in advance for your help.
