  1. My application for a green card just got approved.

And I'm having the same problem - got denied twice today trying to apply for credit cards.

But I've heard about another thing - called PREPAID CARD. Like a phone, lol, u put money on it and then use it, or something like that... also the bank will charge you for that - sounds absolutely rediculous, but apperantly it works and they report to the credit agencies.

Tomorrow I'm gonna try to get one of those, since looks like I dont have any other choice.

I'll tell you all how it went.

  2. Thank you for all the dog advice I appreciate it  Your right we should both go to the shelter together. I just have to be strong if we do and just pick one and not feel bad for all the dogs we can't take home!

My family totally have the same viewpoint as you too - their cat found them. I think I would be the same. Unfortunately no animals have found our house yet and i'm home enough not to have missed any!

I can't wait to get our dog but my hubby (the responsible one) is telling me we have to wait until the summer. He has like a zillion practical reasons for the delay - such as money etc... Of course if it were up to me we could get the dog tomorrow! Especially since it would give me something to do, while waiting for the EAD... Next summer is our compromise!

    About the whole dog thing...

We've got two of them - one is Chocolate Lab/Husky Mix, another - Black Lab/some kinda Spaniel Mix.

They are 7 and 8 months old right now, we got both of them from newspaper - "free dogs to good home".

They were very little when we got them. At first we wanted to get adult dogs from shelter, but decided on free puppies, because it's also considered - saving a dog's life, since most of them are from unwanted littres (sorry if spelled wrong). Also by getting a puppy this way, u know who is the mother most of the time and u can see the dog's behavior - and it's very important. Also, u can start consistent training when they are very young, which is easier. And another factor to consider is that if you take an adult dog, most of the time you don't know what happened to it before, and most of the time you are going to have to work with the adult dog much more. So u need to be prepared.

And our BIG mistake was - that we didn't search the interner about how to bring the dog to the house for the 1st time and what u need to do for the 1st week.

Also - about dogsitting --- that totally can be HELL. It depends on training, I dogsat my mother-in-law's multipoo (he is a spoiled little brat). Aslo by chance we got our neighbour's dog for a week, she is pittbull/choc lab mix - she didn't even know her name, was absolutely wild, but after a week of training she started listening well, got calmer, became a much better and happier dog that she was before. Glad to say that now she lives with a hunter's family (that should tell about her life:) ). About a week after we gave her away. I went to take my puppies out to potty, and when we came back inside my son was playing with a little puppy "rat" chihuahua. It was sooo adorable, I never knew I was gonna like a small dog so much, he stayed with us for a night, and now I want another dog - some toy breed. Though I couldn't stand them before :)

Sorry for all that BLAH BLAH BLAH

I just really love dogs, love living with them, working with them and training them.

And what the dog will be, it all depends on the owner!!!

...about pittbulls - looove them, a trained puttbull is one of the best companions out there!

  3. I know right? I'm like where's my Christmas present from them? Had hoped something would be approved before christmas for a lot of us. Looks like things are slowing down but I guess there's still a day or two left

naeh, it's just people in the office are getting lazier right before holidays, they are thinking about their families :) I understand them.

But let's be patient guys, everything is gonna be allright (singing here)

go in this site! it didnt say the time of the service..

yeah, thanks, I've already checked that one and I even called, but it never said anything about the hours :(

Just a follow up for anyone that cares...

My EAD card arrived today. Given that the update to announce it had been approved on Thursday (17th) and its now only Mon, thats pretty fast!

So dont expect a long wait if you get your EAD approved anytime soon :)

CONGRATUZZZ!!!! I'm very happy for you!!

  5. Ha ha! I'm not sure how I knew you were a guy (maybe I could sense your masculinity through my computer screen! :D ) but I suspected you were because of the spreadsheet. I hate to use gender stereotypes, but putting all of that info onto a spreadsheet was a kinda guy thing to do! I bet you're a Virgo or Capricorn, too! They're known for their organizational skills, and attention to detail.

:D that's funny. Actually I am an Aries. My wife says I am a little bit too obsessed with details. :) hahaha

Still both of us have not gotten any touches on I-765 since 11/25. I am hoping we hear from them very soon. Keeping fingers crossed. :star:

My wife says I am a little bit too obsessed with details -----

It's called OCD, my husband and I, we have it too, but I absolutely love it in him. IstanBulls, I think it's a good thing

  6. It won't let me quote :crying:

ohh... well... I'll just copy it...

"Awww Pappillon that sucks, so sorry to hear it was sent back.

I think since your I-130 check was wrong, they didn't accept the I-485 as the I-130 has to have been filed either before or at the same time, for you to be able and eligible to file the I-485. I think on the I-485 eligibility to says something along the lines of `your relative has already filed an I-130 for you or you are submitting the I-130 concurrently (at the same time as the I-485.)' If that makes sense, By them not accepting the I-130 they probably can't accept the I-485 as it messes up the eligibility thing.

Also even if they'd accepted your I-485 you could have still refiled the I-765 for no charge you'd just have needed to attach a copy of your I-485 NOA to your I-765.

Good Luck with refiling... and again sorry to hear that happened to you Hope you get to refile really soon

I also did the $1010 check for I-485 - no problems..."

I didn't think about the wole eligibility thing, U are right!!!

Anyway, we are donna mail everything tomorow morning. Hoping it's gonna be all right.

    THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT GUYS!!!!!

And congratz to those who got the NOAs and APPOINTMENT dates!!!

    WAY TO GO, GUYS!!!!!!!

  7. hey every1!!!

I just got all my papers sent back to my, received them this morning

Due to my stupidity  , one of the checks was for the wrong amount. That's the one for I-130.

And the other one, I wrote out for the amount of $1010 (I-485 filing + biometrics), but they returned, saying, that IT'S RIGHT TO DO 2 different checks - one for the $930 (I-585 filing) and $80 (biometrics fee). Though on the forum I saw that people wrote just one, like I did the first time, and the docs were accepted.

Also, my form I-765 was outdated, though on the site it's said, that previous are acepted. :protest:

My thoughts, that the person, who got my papers decided to save us some money, cause if they accepted I-485 without I-765, we were gonna have to file I-765 again and pay ove $300. :energy:

  8. Hi everybody!

We are getting ready to send I-485 and I-130 on the 18th of this month. And we've got a couple of questions.

My I-94 doesn't have an expiration date. What do I do?

In the I-485, part 1, very last question: Expires on (mm/dd/yyyy) - what expires? status? I-94? what do I write?

Also, I came here 2,5 years ago on J-1 visa, and before it expired we got married, though it has been 2 years since my visa expired. But only now we can apply for I-485 and !-130, cause they cost sooo much money. Do you think it's gonna matter too much?

Please, I really need the answers!!!
