  1. Hey guys , nothing new on my end except for the fact that I recently discovered the Juarez consulate has a sort "track" system for people on AP ...

 there's nothing there about my case yet but judging by the dates on the other case numbers mine can't be too far away. At least is something else that I can check to keep myself busy. So any other mexico AP users, here you go

 united we stand, lets keep our hopes up

  2. Your husband may or may not be elegible to file a waiver.

    http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/waivers.html

"In certain circumstances, individuals who have been found ineligible for an immigrant visa under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) may be eligible to apply for a waiver of the ineligibility. At the time of the immigrant visa interview, the consular officer will make a determination as to whether an applicant is waiver eligible. If the consular officer finds an applicant ineligible for a visa, but eligible to apply for a waiver, the officer will give the applicant instructions on how to apply for the waiver and will direct them to make a waiver appointment by contacting the call center"

  3. I'm Joining the group guys.

My husband had his interview on july 2 in Juarez consulate, mexico. He says the interview process and medical went smoothly and that he had a nice consul interview him. He double checked with consul before he left interview and this was the exchange:

Consul: Sign here.....COngratulations, now go to DHL payment line and give them this receipt

Hubby: So that's it? can I be with my wife with this paper?

Consul: (smile) yes you are approved. Wait for DHL package from one to 8 days from now.

So my husband waited until July 6 and still no package in DHL :( we had no more money to keep paying the Juarez hotel, so I called the Consulate to see what the delay was. COnsulate operator asked for my NVC case number and told me that my husband was placed on Administrative Processing per july 6. I asked why? he said because they are still doing name checks and blah blah and that it could take anywhere from a day to 6 months. So on july 9th my husband picked up the dhl package which contained a blue slip letting him know his was placed on AR and to wait for them to contact us. The passport was not returned to us.

My husband will travel today to mexico city without a passport they told us at airport he didnt need one for domestic flights.

:crying: so here I am , as are all of you waiting. My next step is to gather numbers/ e-mails and adresses of people I may need to contact in the coming days. I will keep updating any changes to my case as they happen and pour all my good thoughts for us to finally become approved and join our significant others

Question: For those of you placed in AR after the interview did they keep your passport too or did you get it back?

  4. Hey guys congrats on the recent approvals  ...

Just wanted to update my situation:

    July 2: interview

    July 6: placed on AR

July:9 picked up blue slip sans Passport from DHL

So as I told you guys before, Interview went smoothly but my husband was placed on AR afterwards. they kept his passport so I am hoping that we get it back soon with a visa inside :star: ... As for now he is flying home without a passport and we are hoping not to stay in AR for too long. I'm keeping my hopes up, praying and doing loads of reading on AR info. I will make another call to the consulate just to verify again where my case stands and prepare to e-mail/write or call everyone i need to  ... Meantime, i'll keep eating chocolate here and there and do my best to keep a good mood for the sake of all our family and my husband who is now FREAKING out.

  5. Update: My husband is still in Juarez waiting for the passport and the brown envelope since Friday july 2.

He asked the consul at the end of his interview and she said he was Approved. he then added: so i'm done? i can be with my wife? and she added: " yes you are done " with a smile... Based on that we assumed that he was approved...

Today I called to know what happened with his package because he is still waiting in Juarez and every day we have to pay for the hotel room. The consulate person told me that the info he has says that he has been placed in administrative review and to wait for the correspondence from 1 to 8 bus. days after interview. and that AR could last anywhere from a day to 6 months.

I am hoping that there has been some type of mistake, My husband is basically stuck in Juarez because they kept his passport!!!! GOsh i'm feeling sooo down right now :(

I don't know what to do now, do I keep asking people to lend me money so that he can stay in juarez until next week? Can he fly home without a passport in mexico in case he needs to leave since we have no more money for hotels? DId the operator make a mistake since they kept his passport and the consul said he was approved? is our AR going to last 6 months?? stay tuned....

  6. Yeah guys thank you, i havent been very active with my posts but i wanted to update my info on the topic and the timeline because I was always checking other people's timelines so I know how much that helps.

My husband is still in Juarez waiting for DHL to deliver his package and passport. I guess the 4th of July celebration and the weekend slowed down the process a bit.

  7. Sad_Angel,

I understand how you feel. I am almost in the same boat here. You know my story right? My I-130 is not approved yet, which was filed on Dec. 2006.

I will keep you in my prayer.

    Good Luck

OMG, this is horrible :( . I wonder how things like this happen? It could be anyone on this boat. And not to address it right away when the waiting time has been so ridiculous long is almost abusive. My thoughts are with you guys

  8. I guess I am late with this post. My husband's interview was on the Second of this month. I wasnt going to be allowed to go in with him (juarez, mexico) so we decided to save that money for his trip to the states . He flew to juarez on june 30. on July 1 was his medical and on july second his interview. Everything went smoothly, he says the consul was nice but that she kept giving him trick comments such as " ohh ok i see so you guys married in the usa" , " and this vacation was in the states?" " is this you with her family in usa?" he corrected her every time, letting her know we got married in mexico and he had NEVER set foot in the good ol USA before =D

My sister did all my paperwork, no RFE's. WE began on november 2009 and done by July 2010 8 months for a CR-1 visa =D ....

My best wishes to all of you still waiting, I thank you for your comments and topics that help me so much

  9. Hi guys, I havent been very active lately, just passing by to let you know I have my appointment already set for July 2, 2010 in Juarez, Mexico.

According to my timeline "Your interview took 231 days from your I-130 NOA1 date" , that translates into 8 months almost =D.

They took about a month and a half to schedule, would have been faster but i lost a couple of days gathering info :( ...

in any case , good luck to us all! and remember to keep your timelines updated =D

  10. Your husband cannot arrange for the redelivery ( I tried that once when this happened to me) it has to be the USCIS that arranges for it, and they will pick it up don't worry. They receive lots of packages in a big place like that they probably have their very own "mail room" employees in charge of things like that.

Good luck with the rest of the process!
