  1. Why should processing few pages of document take months in today's world of fast computers and connection? Unless USCIS is deliberately delaying processing of applications, there is no reason that it should take more than a few weeks to make decision on these family based petitions. Background checks these days are all wired and digital, so it's just matter of days except in most extreme cases. So your files may just be sitting on some self completely ignored. And with decreasing number of applicants, USCIS should be able to provide it's decision within weeks for every applicant if it wants. Otherwise, this is smelling a lot like lack of accountability.

US citizen should write to correct authorities, their congressman and senators to demand accountability and faster processing. Only then will USCIS behavior start changing. Go to contact section of USCIS website and write to ombudsman's email address.

Take action for change. Demand accountability.

  2. After every such experience, US citizen should write to correct authorities, their congressman and senators. Only then will such behavior start changing. Each one of such jerk officer's salary is being paid from your tax dollars! So why won't you demand the same quality of service from these officers that you'd from one inside US? Only by making your voice heard loud & clear will things change. And you're also helping those coming behind you.

All you need to do to write to the correct authorities is as simple as going to the contact web-page of USCIS or State Department. You can use contact or feedback or ombudsman email address on those web-pages. You can avoid your personal details and only mention the consular location, officer name/number if possible or time/day of visit.
