Just noticed that after getting my biometrics done on 2/19, my I-751 was touched on 2/22 but the last touches are actually on 2/28 on both my I-485 and I-765. I assume it's biometrics related...Anyone else experience this?
Those 2 were exactly the ones that were touched a week after my I-751 was approved. Interestingly I-131 that I initially filed with I-765 wasn't. That was over a month ago and I saw no problems and got my GC on time.

Thanks! There were some helpful posts there.
Also I did some searching on the web and found some conflicting information from immigration attorneys. According to this blog entry, legal separation can constitute dissolution of marriage for immigration purposes:
and a more optimistic view stated by a different lawyer here:
As far as I know, California does not automatically convert legal separations into divorces, so I guess we'd be OK here.
Any thoughts or experiences?
Btw, I think you're confusing one thing here. What you pasted is talking about someone who hasn't gotten their green card yet. Your wife already has one. She is already permanent resident with all the rights and obligations of a permanent resident. She can waive the condition on it without you after the divorce is final.

Imagine he was too serious that he didn't allow you to swear (his assumption was that you are not serious enough
)
But I was like LULWAT? Sure, I swear my name is this and that...what's the big deal.. but i guess it is so people don't lie and give fake GC and get unrestricted social security card or something...if they have it recorded and you said you swore than then can easily get your ####

Hi my VisaJourny friends. I'm looking for advice. If i fille I-751 waiver, can I travel out of country? Can I set up the interview on USA ambassy outside of USA? Thank you for help.
1) Once you get a extension letter that you get after you apply for I-751 waiver, that letter will serve as proof of your status extension. You will just need to carry it with your expired GC when travelling.
2) You can't setup interviews outside the USA, but most I-751 applications do not get interview.
3) You should be careful not to miss biometrics appointment that can be scheduled pretty shortly after your I-751 application is sent.

Well today I went to SS Administration and I changed or updated my card.
Susita, it didn't take me that long. Of course when I opened the door and I saw like a hundred people in the waiting area I almost walked away but since I wanted to change the information, the waiting wasn't that bad. I think I waited 15 or 20 minutes. I never said I was married, I just showed my green card and the guy proceeded to change the information. He told me I will receive a new card (same number) without that famous sentence. But he kept the card. He gave me a letter saying I would receive my new card within two weeks.
So it was easy!!!
I did what you did recently and they gave me old card back (I already received new one (within 2 weeks as they said)).
They do ask you "Do you swear to say only truth" or something like that. I was like WHOA you sir are serious about this.

Yeah, or if you divorce now, she can apply to waive the condition right away after the divorce is final. She will just need to prove it was in good faith.
-
One benefit is when you accept employment you just show them your SS card and ID (driver's license) and they don't even have to be aware of whether you're American or GC holder.
-
Oh, I had to write "USHDS" instead of "USCIS"?
Well, i am already approved.
Don't think it is a big deal

does anybody know if i can get my biometrics earlier than my appointment? i have appointment on the 10th of march but i want to do it earlier.
Most of the time they will be okay with it: I did it, many people did it, some get turned away. The best thing is to go and try it yourself. Say something like you'll be on business trip during your scheduled time and ask if you can do it now :-D

Yes I love my wife , just because I say that I like America does not mean that I do not love my spouse.. I came to America on a work Visa , I came here because I like America , at that time I did not know my spouse , I met my spouse after 4 years I came to America and got married ..
There are many people who get their residency through employment , does that mean that they dont love their spouse ?
S/he probably means in this particular forum (Removal of conditions) hehe

Everyone likes US , thats why we all are here , but just because you do not love your country do not think that others feel the same way.. whatever be the problems , whatever be the issues back home it is still our country and our identity.. God forbid if someday US changes immigration laws , wont you go back to Russia ? Be proud of your identity because if you lose your identity you are nothing, be proud to be an American too..
Well, i dont think it is possible to change immigration laws like that...besides hopefully by then i will be USC ;-) No, I dont like Russia anymore so I wouldn't go there ;-(
Identity is nothing really: I have very philosophical approach to life: culture, religion, language, traditions are nothing, just set of habitual beliefs imposed on you without your deliberate consent. You just happen to be born in certain time and location and that does not define you: you define yourself ;-)
That's off topic: grats with super speedy approval!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well said but there is one thing I have to disagrea here , you say Everyone likes US , thats why we all are here ,I belive most of us ( defenatly me )are here cose we love and like our spouse ,
but back to topic
CONGRATULATIONS
Nah, I'd been in the country for quite a few years (because I love it) way before I met my spouse. If it was 'bad place' in my opinion then I'd have to move myself and my spouse

Lawl, please, I am not belittling any country here... Nepal is just not that great in many ways... And I am not embarrased to tell you my country, candelari. It is Russia, sorta crappy too ;-)
Please, I understand we all have that affinity to our home country, but I am pretty sure most of us like US more ;-)
-
Congrats Sau!
Nepal is a great country. I had friend who was from Nepal when I was going to college. He told me lot of things about Nepal.
Nepal is among the poorest and least developed countries in the world, with almost one-third of its population living below the poverty line. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I wouldn't say Nepal is a "great country" lawl.

Although the application is I-751, the online status will show CRI89, there is nothing to worry about.
Not sure about the ESC.
He probably means ASC...

I can't schedule and appointment, i'm not in the US and my card expires soon, i have to wait in the UK or i will get deported at customs. Thanks loads for you responses though, i think i'll just send as much as i can with the fee and keep my fingers crossed!
What do you mean your card expires soon? It is expired.
thankyou! i'm still eligable on the time frame factor just not so much on the being in the US part lolI've got plenty of pics etc to show it wasn't fraud, hopefully i'll get it
You do realize you're eligible to apply any time 90 days prior to the expiration of your card? You card already expired 2 weeks ago. You will need some serious justification for that.
-
the expiration date on my card is 01/21/2010.
No one noticed this problem? He is also outside the US..

v333k, feels good, doesn't it
? I really don't care about citizenship (i mean I do, but it doesnt seem as important as being permanent permanent resident), but feels good to know you're REALLY permanent now
?
-
v333k, you have talent for writing
-
v333k, congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D Now I can leave this forum soon lawl
-
Lol, that was funny
-
I hope I hear soon - it is around this time when I am getting nervous since I realize it can be any day now....
Yeah, I'd say I was more excited during that phase
I mean come on, the odds are that you just get your approval and no RFEs. Almost everyone gets it!
-
v333k, seriously? A dream
? Goodness :-o
If you don't get it within next 2 weeks, I am calling them
But, on serious note, you're probably going to get approval within 1-3 weeks anytime now basically...
-
You put yourself in a BAD BAD situation!!! You can't expect that by you filing on January 7th that you would have a response by now. That si way to much to ask for. I suggest you consult a good immigration attorney and just sit tight. You may have just screwed your ENTIRE case. You will be out of status tomorow, and now You may have to start from scratch AGAIN, and/or go back to your home country.
Someone give this dude some relaxant

The same happened to me
after approval both I-485 an I-765 touched Might be moving them to the archive as they both under my name [ permenant resident ]
but I-130 not. might because the file is under the spouse name [ US citizen ] may be went to another archive 2ys ago
good luck
Oh, you're right. Although that doesn't explain the re-entry permit not being touched, but oh well
I don't think we can explain everything in USCIS
Thanks!

What? Sometimes it is financially beneficial to do that and it says nothing about the state of the marriage.
