  1. I flew to the Philippines from the US 4x in the past year, each time the travel tax was included with the airfare. The terminal fee is P750 for international flights, P200 for domestic (within PHL).

    I read that fees only apply to Filipino citizens or the likes.

  2. Hi to all;

    I dont know if this thing was already posted.

    But I would like to know if upon departure from the Philippines going to the USA I need to pay TRAVEL TAX + TERMINAL FEE = Php 1620 + Php 750 = Php 2370?

    When did they impose this travel tax? I went to Japan on July 2008, I dont remember paying this TRAVEL TAX thing. All I could remember is the terminal fee of Php 750.

  3. So I got the heads up that Milagros passed her interview, but the embassy lost her medical report. They saw in the system that they received it on 3/31 but couldn't find it.. (not even 2 weeks later)

    So she passed, paid a fee to have it mailed to her..

    She said that they would call her with an update on it, and she plans to nag them until they close this all out..

    Has anyone else been through this before? I'm super happy but a little confused, all at once.. rofl.gif

    I've heard of the same story as you, here in VJ too. The embassy was able to find out the medical though but it caused them 1 month delay. You and Milagros should keep on following it up, most especially you because u are the USC.

  4. As mentioned the pregnancy will be reported from the medical. I believe it is tested for in case it is not obvious and not revealed.

    In one case posted here the Embassy officer did not care that the USC was the father, he asked the questions:

    1) Are you aware your fiancee is pregnant?

    The poster replied yes it is my baby. Officer did not care.

    2) Officer asks do you still support this woman's petition?

    The USC replied yes. So she was approved.

    What is important is that the USC send a letter informing the Embassy if he will not be present at the interview that he is aware of the pregnancy and still supports the fiancee.

    This is difficult in Bangkok and other Embassies where the USC is forbidden from entering for the interview. If you cannot attend the interview or the Embassy does not permit you entrance, then make sure you have an affidavit prepared in advanced stating you are aware she is pregnant and still will support her application, notarized and have your fiancee present it at the interview.

    I totally agree with Audy_Rob!

    At the medical, the fiancee can have a chest x-ray taken as long as there is a protective blanket they will put around the belly portion. Once, the medical clinic found that she is pregnant they will require that you have a notarized affidavit that you are accepting her pregnancy and that you are still willing to pursue your petition.

  5. If you can find DHL near your area in the US, better send it through DHL. We used to send via FEDEX before and it will take 5 days excluding weekends, but when we used DHL for my interview docs it only took 3 days including weekends. If possible make two original copies each of docs that you will send her so that if the thing get lost you can send another one.

  6. I have been to Davao City twice already and I can say it is a safe place to be in... I even went out there up until 3AM and there was no problem... People are generally warm and kind in Davao. Just follow your girl wherever she takes you and be vigilant. Have a safe trip and hope you will enjoy.. Dont forget to visit Samal Island and Crocodile Farm... :)

  7. Hi to all;

    My appointment visa confirmation says that I need to pay 2-3 days before my interview. April 5, 2010 is my interview, and it is after holy week and after a long vacation. It is even mentioned on the letter that the embassy will not accept any underpayment? Next week will be holy week and I dont know when should I pay. I went to BDO already and they told me that they cannot confirm to me the technicallity of the letter because it was the embassy who made it. Please advise! Thanks.

  8. no, you shouldn't have a problem. it's actually good that you had the medical early because you're assured that it's already with the USEM.

    on the contrary, if you did it a week before your interview date, chances are it wouldn't reach them on time and THEN the USEM won;t be able to issue your visa til they get the medical results.

    so relax, and now you can focus on preparing for your interview :)

    Thanks for the input Zen Den!

  9. Hi guys;

    I finished my medical already at St. Lukes Extension Clinic last March 8, 2010. My interview is scheduled on April 5, 2010 still yet. For the benefit of those who want to have an early medical and for my peace of mind. Can somebody who had early medical (1 month above) before their interview date, state if they had a problem or delayed issuance of visa?

    Appreciate your reply guys!

  10. If you file for the EAD (I-765) immediately on arrival WITHOUT filing AOS then yes, you will need to pay the filing fee. The card will only be valid until your I-94 expires which is 90 days after you arrive, and typically the card will take around 60 days (as stated, and sometimes longer) so you won't be able to use it immediately either and it will be valid for a short time. A waste of money in my opinion.

    As stated if you marry and file AOS immediately then you will receive the EAD in around 60-90 days and it will be valid for a while and then will be taken over by your greencard and then your greencard is valid for 2 years until you file for AOS.

    Up to you of course but I wouldn't waste the $340 if you're already having financial trouble and unable to afford the AOS (which is some people consider the EAD before AOS), it would be a complete waste of money unless you get a job that pays $500 minimum a week so that for the entire time the card is valid you earn enough to file for AOS... bearing in mind that it might not even be valid for 2 weeks, that's just a guess. Most of the time just K3 visa applicants get the EAD because they have 2 years from entry to AOS.

    Wow! Thanks for the replies.. I will just wait for me to get married then file AOS then.
