I received a phone call today - i was not sure who it was from, all it said on the caller i.d was FLORIDA. I answered and a message said "please hold whilst we connect you to an agent" i hung up cause i thought it was someone trying to sell something.

Do you think it was uscis?

I filed through Dora in Dallas back in May, had bio in June....now waiting.

I am going through the dora system, when I take the forms and documents to file do I still need to have a cover letter. If so, do I just list the forms I am submitting rather than everything I am submitting with them (i.e photos, copies of passports etc etc).

What is this and where do I find it? I am here on a K3 and cannot see anything on my visa that starts with an A.

i am about to apply for aos, my k3 expires in may - i want to leave the country and come back in before april.

will me appying for aos affect my k3 status.

i am thinking it wont - the filing for aos will not change my k3 status and i can come and go as long as my k3 is not expired, is this right?

thanks for your quick reply, no i have not applied for aos, was going to wait until i got back from UK.

If iget back in March I will have 2 months to apply before my K3 expires.

I am here in the US on a K3, I want to go home to the UK to visit.

My K3 expires in May. I want to go home for a few weeks in Feb, do I need to get advance parole or is my K3 good for re-entry?

The biggest problem with filing after going out of status, is that you won't be able to leave the country until AOS is approved, even if you have an AP document. Doing so may lead you to be banned from re-entering the USA for some years.

USCIS forgives any out of status time for people doing AOS through marriage to a USC. However I agree with Kezzie, you are better off filing for AOS before your K-3 expires, to avoid any "hiccups".

I was thinking of filing (if we stay here) around Feb/march 2007, 2-3 months before the k3 expires.

I arrived hereon a K3 in May 2005 - am I right in thinking I have until May 07 to file the AOs (my K3 visa is vaild for 2 years).

I want to make sure we intend to stay here in the U.S before I go through the whole AOS process.....
