  1. I had expected an interview either in February or March (if any) and that I would be granted GC by the end of April or so. Like you said, I gave it about 5-6 months of waiting period. That's why it was so unexpected and I was so delighted. What a nice surprise, right?

Good luck on your journey and all the best.

    Congratulations to you MacTO!!!

Could you specify what evidence you submitted with your I-751? Thank you.

  2. Hi Frenchness,

I got package 4 yesterday and my interview in Paris is schedules on December 8th.

Other than the forms we have to provide, what kind of documents did they ask for?

What did you give along with the I-134?

What did you give as proof of relationship?

Do they ask about documents we submitted with the I-129F?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Sabrina,

I would respond in French, but it may help other non-French speaking people on here, so I'll respond in English.

1/Forms ds156, ds156k, ds157 and the little "letter of intent" they sent in packet3 were all the forms asked for.

2/They only asked for: transcripts, employment letters, bank letter. They could care less about pay stubs and bank statements, they won't take them anyway.

3/NO and I do insist, ABSOLUTELY NO proof of relationship was asked for.

4/They already have your I-129F and won't ask for the original petition...

My overall perception was that they dont have time to waste, so they go straight to the point!

There was another lady applying for a K1 fiancee visa, and who had the number before me...her interview was 5-10 min long and so was mine! The officer will say "if everything goes as it should, you'll receive your visa in 7-10 days"...That's it.

  3. If you read under the guides in reference to social security number for K-1's that question on the DS form does not apply. That applys to CR-1's, not K-1's. To get a SSN you will have to fill out the application and apply with the social security office once you are in the states so marking that makes no difference anyway.

Thank you! Didn't about that obviously!

  4. Hello all,

I had my interview yesterday and it went well overall but I was surprised with something.

When I was called to the booth to submitt my documents and was asked for the DS forms and proceeded to hand DS230 part II, I was told it was not needed at this time and would be used by the immigration at a later time.

The consular officer had me sign all the other forms but didnt ask for this one either.

I was very surprised and wonder whether this is true or maybe the lady at the booth made a mistake.

Should I fax the embassy to ask them more about it?

    Thank you for all responses.

She is both correct and wrong. The form was not needed , that is true. It will not be used in any other part of the immigration process. USCIS, who will do the AOS, has no use for the DS-230 or DS-230 part II. They are used by some consulates for the K-1, I do not know why. Kiev does not use them, for example, and my wife got her green card like anyone else despite never seeing a DS-230 or DS-230 part II form.

You got your visa? You are done with the consulate

Well, first off, thank you Gary (I suppose) for responding so promptly.

The first said she didnt need it when I proceeded to hand it to her and the consular officer didnt ask for it either. The latter simply concluded "ok, if everything goes as it should, you should receive your visa in 7-10 days. do u have any other questions?" and that was it.

I just thought it was needed to get a ss # (since the form reads "do you wanna apply for a ssn?)...then again, it does say that both parts are needed t complete the immigrant visa application.

Thank you again Gary, I'll just wait then and hope to receive my visa soon.

  7. Hello all,

My interview is scheduled tomorrow and as I am going through everything one more time, I have a question regarding DS156...Do I have to glue/staple my passport-type pictures on there AND have an additionnal two passport-type pictures with me?

Also can anyone please confirm I need 2 copies of DS156, 1 copy of DS156K, 1 copy of DS157 and 1 copy of DS230 part II?

    Thank you for all responses.

    Stefany.

  8. We sent the completed packet 3 to embassy and based on DHL confirmation it was received and signed by "KOKO" at the embassy 15 days ago. But embassy has not yet logged in our packet 3 and there is no record of it even after 15 days so far (based on the info I got from Department of state).

What should I do ? Is it normal or do you think they somehow lost it at the embassy ? Should I consider sending them all the forms in packet 3 again ?

    Thanks.

I am having the same problem right now and will update you if/when I hear anything new.

  9. Hello everyone,

I am new on here and need feedback from anyone familiar with my situation.

I applied for a K1 visa at the U.S. embassy in Paris, where I am from, but didn't have my NVC case # at the time when I sent form ds-2001 notification of applicant readiness back to the embassy; and therefore put my USCIS case # on the form.

I am worried it may be a problem when it comes to processing my case.

Has anyone been through the same situation or knows of anyone who has? Could anyone give me some feedback as to what to do now?

FYI, I tried emailing and calling them, to no avail.

Thank you all for your help.

    Stefany.
