  1. Hi everyone,

I am here for a friend who doesn't speak English. She filed I-485 and I-130 (among others) and they were returned for some mistakes she made (for instance, she put her I-94 no. under Alien Registration Number, etc.).

Now, does she need to refill the forms, or can simply cross-out/white-out what's wrong and re-write?

I was going to suggest to her to redo the forms, but I see some numbers on the side of the pages, like they were scanned or similar, so I wonder if sending new forms would mix up anything.

    Thanks,

  2. Hi everyone,

I am here for my friend, who doesn't speak English much. She has filed for AOS but apparently her form were sent back and was asked to refile due to some missing info.

In I-485, she didn't choose an "application type". When I asked her why not, she said she didn't know what to select

She entered on P-3 visa, and is now married to USC. I can't fine other reasonable option for "application type", but (a.). Or am I missing something?

    Pls help!

  3. Yay... Mom passed the interview today. Here are the following questions the CO asked her

    1. Who petitioned you?

    2. When did she arrived in the US?

    3. How did she gain her US Citizenship?

    4. Is your daughter working? Then, CO flip through the documents.... Where does she works?

    5. What does your son in law do?

    6. When was the last time your daughter visited the Philippines? Then, CO goes through the pictures that my mom brought to the interview

After question #6, CO said Congratulations and Welcome to the United States of America!!!!!

I am hoping that my mom will received her visa within a week. So she can fly here either May 20th or 21st.... Im so excited!!!!

    CONGRATS !!!

My mom's interview is tomorrow. I hope all goes smooth!

  5. Got the interview letter. May 13th.

I am confused a bit. the letter says: Please note that even though the applicant may have provided NVC with a copy of a document, the applicant is still required to bring the original document at the interview. Does that mean that my mom needs to bring all originals with her again? Or it means that if we have sent copies to NVC, now she needs to bring the originals?

    Thanks,

  6. I noticed that they have a date of birth of one of my parents incorrect. Do you think if I call NVC and soeak to an operator they will correct it that way or will I have to fill out new forms?

They really should have picked up on it from looking at the passport but apparently it slipped through.

I hope it wont hold up the application?

I also noticed that I have a date incorrect (by a couple of days only), and they haven't picked it up, which they should've picked up from the death transcript of my father that I sent. I never talked to an operator about it. I guess it's not such a big deal, since they have all certificates in original and maybe realized that mistakes happen.

Official May scheduling will take place during 12-16 April.

Oh, so no need for me to check my email thousand times this week then.

  7. How do we schedule the appointment at the US embassy abroad? The NVC operators said they will schedule the interviews for May on the second week of April. Well, it's the second week already but I haven't received any email from them about the interview schedule. I just want to know beforehand as my mom has to prepare for her medical as well.

Anyone who has interview schedule already?

    Nothing yet.

  8. Hi all,

Congrats to all who got Sign In Failed.

I have a short question. When NVC approves the process, who receives the Interview Letter? Both me and beneficiary? Or just beneficiary? If I get it too, do they email it to me, just as everything else?

Also, the interview itself... what do they ask? Is there a thread with interview questions that I missed somewhere on this website? Monty1179 above reminded me what I wanted to ask some time ago... Who has the final saying about the approval? NVC or the person who does the interview?

    Thanks,

  9. Dont worry abou the missing or incomplete information that AVR said...i got the similar message.....usually this happens before DS-230 is entered into the system even though it is delivered to NVC.....This message usually happens after I-864 is accpeted and before DS-230 enters into NVC system.....so dont worry.....

    Good Luck! Thanks, Raj

Thanks Raj. It makes sense cause they only recvd DS-230 yesterday, 3/11.

Probably a false RFE for your entire DS230 package. Don't worry about it.

    Thanks sachinky.

  10. Wow, Raj, that's so helpful. Thnaks for your info.

    I still have two Qs:

    1) Is my parents' email necessary? They aren't that good at using computer....

    2) the link you included in your reply about the DS3032 template is not working. When i clicked, it said the file has

been removed....Where can i find the template? Do i need to send this DS3032 to NVC by email OR I can use the pdf from DOS website and send it through mail?

    THanks again.

    Lily

    Hi Lily,

Your parents don't need to use a computer. Just create an email account in their name, and give that to NVC. That's what I did. My mom doesn't even have a computer. I handle "her" email account. If you open one on gmail, you can set the mail being forwarded to your email, so you don't have to check it constantly.

    Here's a link for ds-3032 http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

I used the email template and it was accepted in about a week (see my sig)

    good luck!

  11. uh-oh I paid both of mine right away too - I think several of us did. I paid last week and it says in progress still.

I haven't received a bill from them yet though.

I'm in the same boat. Paid IV fee bill without receiving email for it. Mine showed as PAID last night (once the site was up and running).

Oh well, my role is done. I haven't had such stress in a while, collecting all documents, filling out forms, making sure nothing is missing. Very, very stressful.

Hopefully there won't be much of a delay.
