  1. Hey everyone!!

Well I'm here :) first couple of days were quite emotional, I became ill on the plane so coupled with an extended layover in Chicago I was in a bit of a state by the time I got to Orlando!! Immigration was fine, just 15 minutes and I was through (I absolutely pelted it from the plane and got to the front of the line, fortunately!).

I've got my driving license sorted (despite a note on my record saying I'd been driving without insurance in 2008 because the ******** I sold my car to never took the title to the DMV to re-register it, grrr) and just got medical cover to sort me til the big day, so I'm getting settled gradually. Jason is being great and is being very patient with my emotional rollercoaster :) Anyway, I'm excited to be here!

Welcome to the USA Miss Jess!!!!! It's not an easy time now, all the adjusting, but you'll get into it in no time :)

Congrats to Anwesha an JI_n_JL for the GC!!!!

Megan - I admire you for being so cool about it and you're right, you are together, so no rush. Hope to see you approved soon, though.

I have been away for a while - my family finally came over to visit and we finally introduced the parents to each other, even had a little wedding party down in FL. :) :) :) It was great to have them here, I was really getting homesick. :(

Also, we will be moving to Orlando for a few months, so if any of you Florida girls feel like it, we should meet in person :)

All the best & lots of love and patience to everyone!

  2. Exciting news! I checked our status today and apparently AOS was approved yesterday and the card production has been ordered!! It's so good to feel done with visa stuff for the next two years :) Hopefully the card arrives soon.

I was wondering that same thing Anwesha. Should we go back to the SS office now and get a card that does not say "DHS approval required to work" or does it not matter?

Congrats!! I don't think you guys need a new SS card - the GC is what authorizes you to work and your SS no wouldn't change.

  3. As for the RFE, dudes, USCIS is at it again. Maybe they just wanted to stress me out a bit, because now I've gotten an email and online status update saying that it's CARD PRODUCTION! I hope they're not lying to me... I won't believe it til I see it!

That's awesome Megan! A little scare is worth the GC :) Congratulations!

I think I'm done with paperwork for a while - just got my driver's license and in the process realized that the DMV is actually much much worse than the USCIS :) SS name change done too ... so somebody just GIVE ME A JOB!!!

I hope to see all you guys approved soon!

  4. I got another email late last night, sort of confusing:

    This is the first one:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On August 26, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

And this is the second one:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Your Case Status: Decision

On August 26, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

What I don't understand is the registration the second email mentions or what ADIT processing is - I have never heard of that.

  5. Congratulations. Jum and I just sent off the AOS last week and yesterday they sent NOA1 which was 1 day before her I-94 expired. They sent about 17 emails and text messages to let me know.

Congrats, hope everything goes smoothly! I'm assuming you guys will go to the Alexandria office for biometrics - they are really easy about early walk-ins.

Hope this is the start of lots of good news for all of you... :)

Finally at about the tenth attempt managed to get my blessing pictures off my camera which I thought I'd share with you lot so you could see the dress in action!! ;)

Congratulations MIss Jess - beautiful dress, beautiful couple! :)

  6. Hey KisK,

I have not heard from anyone on our thread much lately! We are also waiting, and today we got a text saying our I-485 was transferred to CSC.But we have not yet had our biometrics appointment.Waiting for that to get done now.

Things seem to be slowing dow for AOS :( I keep waiting for Megan to be approved - she is almost two months ahead of me.. and transferred to CSC.

It's strange that you guys didn't get the biometrics letter yet - I hope it arrives soon!!

    Hey guys how's it going?

I'm not at your stage just yet...merely watching with interest :)...but I thought I'd tell you my big piece of news...I handed in my notice at work today!!!

Last day October 8th. Really scary but kind of exciting. It's all really happening now!

You'll be here before you know it! It can be a little stressful to pack up and leave, but it is also such a great adventure! Good luck!

  7. woo I am near Lake Norman right now, have come to spend some days with my in-laws.Hehe,just had to say that we were so close :)

And congrats to both of you for getting your cases trasnferred to CSC! Awesome news indeed .

But why,why cannot I still find my case online,I feel blue :(

Beautiful lake - have fun with your new family!!! And don't worry about the online status, they are always late in updating it - I just got updated to initial review today... and it's been more than a month.

Also got a text notifying me of the transfer :)

  8. woooooo gratz Megan on Ewan's EAD and AP ^^, time for this guy to shake his booty lol

Gratz KisK on the transfer, I'm right behind you , tried a walk-in on Monday in Charlotte, they didn't even look at the date, took 15 min (waiting for my turn and taking the fingerprint/photo), then went shopping at IKEA lol

I received the letter that they transferred it to CSC

I guess I'll get my EAD just in time, when I get back from NH ^^

Congrats - we do have almost the same timeline!!! And it's so good that we might not need an interview!

I was also in Charlotte recently - did some jet skiing on Lake Norman :)

  9. Hi my lovely November 09 friends

I just feel I should let you know, it's not worked out for me. Believe me, there is no one more shocked than me! If I hadn't bought a house here (outright) and brought my dogs I would have gone back home before now. Working out what to do day by day. It's not all in my hands, though.

I won't be on here much, but I so very, very much need to express what you all mean to me and when I can get on here, I will. I'll tell my story one day, but not any time soon.

Always thinking about you guys and wish you all so much happiness xxx

I am so sorry that this journey has turned into a nightmare for you, this is such a vulnerable position, I really feel for you. Do let us know if we can help in any way, if you're stuck somehow I'm sure one of us will have a good idea or way to help.

Hope to hear from you still, you are such an important and inspiring member of this community!

    Lots of love!!
