Three weeks over and this is my fourth week in the U.S. and not yet received SSN & GC and also my Welcome Letter.

Here is my timeline:

07/14/08 - Got Married

10/10/09-Applied for I-130 & I-129f

02/06/10-Got I-130 approved

03/13/10-Case completed

04/13/10-Interview date received, 18th May,2010

05/05/10-Medical Test

05/18/10-Interview at Chennai consulate, Visa Approved

05/19/10-Received Visa Packets from VFS, Chennai

05/22/10-In flight, Chennai-JFK

05/23/10-POE, JFK-Took Oath

What should I do now? Please help me out

Chennai does not give the medical results in a sealed envelop anymore. I think both KartikRaj and I who had medicals in Appolo Chennai last week can attest to that. My wife said Chennai consulate does not allow any sealed envelops inside the consulates.

We did not submit any documents to VFS other than the courier fee.

Anyone did the medical test in chennai? They didn't give the medical report in the sealed envelope. They are saying, they usually don't give it in the sealed envelope. But website says it should be in the sealed envelope. Who is correct? Anyone received the report in the sealed envelope?

Also chennai VFS is not accepting any documents and they wants just the vfs courier fee only. They are saying that, since the case is handled by NVC, they don't accept any documents. Which is true?

They still want the original birth certificate and original death certificate and I didn't listed my wife's divorce decree in the checklist so they need that again.

I was trying to convince the operator that Chennai city issued paperless act and they don't issue any paper certificate but she is not able to understand what is paperless act means and she is forwarding this case to the supervisor. But she also said they send the checklist in the mail.

Fu***ing NVC hired some stupid mochos to review these documents. They are brainless and not able to understand the reality and issuing RFE for silly things. We are paying $400 for them to do their jobs and they are finding stupid reason to delay the cases. Something smells fishy.

For me operator said, they see the documents in the packet but it is not listed in the cover letter so they cann't accept it. I have to resend along with the checklist... what the heck...?

I asked the operator, she said only Birth Certificate is acceptable. Other option is to get Birth Record NOT found/ Not Available Certificate. How come municipality will issue Birth Record not found certificate..

Finally they received my DS230 and now they issued RFE

Saying they want the ORIGINAL birth Certificate and ORIGINAL death Certificate.

But I already sent the original certificates.

Birth Certificate: Nowadays Chennai City (India) went with paperless, and everything is online now, if we need any certificate we have to just download from the website (City NO more issuing any certificates in paper). I was impressed with. This message is in the bottom of the certificate. But this fu***** NVC not reading that message and asking for Original. They are saying they won't accept it, I have to get the original from CITY. But city said that according to the paperless act they WON'T issue any certificates and even if you inssist they will just take the print out from the website and give it to us.

Death Certificate: In Albany, NY county, for the death certificate they won't put any ink seal in the certificate, but they will apply the embossing technology and put the seal along the paper itself, you can only feel the symbol if you touch it. And they are saying its not acceptable and they need with seal

With these new technology, I'm in trouble. NVC don't train the reviewer to look for these things. We are paying $400 to do these jobs and they are driving us crazy.

Does any one had this kind of problem before?

I got the checklist, saying DS230 package is not received. But i sent that on Feb 27 and they received on March 1st. Operator is saying it will take several weeks to enter the details in the AVR and asked me to wait for sevaral weeks what the heck?

I called NVC...

They said, waiting for DS230.. If you already sent the DS230 then just ignore this message... It will take more time to enter the DS230 information into the AVR.

We thought she will be here for my son's birthday. This RFE will slow down, and my son is not happy to hear about this RFE :-(

One thing that I couldn't submit is

My wife's 1st marriage - marriage certificate (they didn't registered), but she is having her divorce decree from the court

Not sure whether we have to submit all the original marriage certificate of all the marriages.

My case is little complicated?

But I submitted my x-wife's original death certificate and my current wife's divorce certificate, this will provide the enough information to prove previous marriages are terminated... ?
