Apparently I submitted the IRS reports to the embassy instead of form 1040. Now they are asking me for my fiance's 2008 form 1040. What is this form? Does he need to fill out the form or does the IRS send one? I am guessing he should have the form when filing for his 2008 taxes?

We turned in form 1040 (tax) for both 2007 and 2008 at the embassy. However, the officer checking the documents asked for the 1040 for the year 2009 to get for the interview. My fiance's company does not have this ready yet and my interview is at the end of the month.

Any suggestions as to what we need to do?

I turned in my packet 3 at the embassy (Qatar) today. I have an interview on Jan 31. Wish me luck.

The officer asked me to get an original birth certificate (since I brought in a copy) and the 1040 for 2009 for the interview. I asked if anything else was needed for the interview but he said I did not need to get anything. I turned in my DS156, DS 230, medical, police clearance etc. He said they would call me if anything was needed

I am wondering if I should still carry any proof of the relationship with me to the interview. Thoughts?

October filer by the skin of my teeth lol Oct 30th, 2009. I have read over this whole thread, and I am wondering if I should be nervous that my fiance may get a letter telling him to be somewhere when he is here in the usa visitng me over christmas and new years.

That was something I was worried about too (we are meeting over christmas and new years), but I read somewhere on one of the forum posts that the NOA2 is valid for 4 months. Someone please correct me if I am wrong

Anyway, I felt much better after I let these out of my mind, I hope you guys do the same and don't keep all of this to yourself, we are here to support each other, and learn from each other. And, I consider myself lucky, because I made myself financially possible to spend 6 weeks with my love very soon. And then I plan to spend our first Valentine's day, which will coincide with the Chinese New Year, together in China. By then we should have some idea what is USCIS doing to my NOA2.

OK USCIS, do you know what are you doing to me? You happy now? You see???

Thanks for this JRSmooth! My fiance and I are going through the exact same feelings. I think a few weeks ago everyone thought we would receive our NOA2 within a month, but unfortunately it isnt so. Like you my fiance and I will be meeting in next month and spend a few weeks together. I just want to fast forward into the future when we will be together.

But I will need to send the original NOA2 to my fiance?

Just wanted to know what we need to do if the petitioner is not in the country when the NOA2 arrives? Do we get a specified period to respond within? I will be away for a month during december-january- and my timeline shows i shoud (hopefully!) be getting the approval during that time.
