  1. Do they need a good reason? No, not really. They have discretion. However, they usually want a reason good enough to wash with USCIS, because when they deny the visa they have to return the petition to USCIS with a recommendation that the petition approval be revoked. They would prefer that the petition approval not be reaffirmed by USCIS because it means they'll only have to deal with the same applicant and the same petition again at another interview. If they don't have a good reason for denying the visa then they returned the serve, but they haven't won the point yet. That's not how they prefer to play the game.

Send an email to the consulate. Be sure to include your name, your fiance's name, and your consulate case number. They should be able to tell you the current status, though it may take them a week or two to respond.

Well mabye the guy just had a bad day because it was aproved and my hubbie will be comming into the u.s. on jan 30th yay best xmas present ever!

  2. i just feel that and whoever can tell me there interview experience to be so cold bec. all i hear is oh we were instantly approved he/she said welcome to america etc etc mine got a cold shoulder a few retarded questions like they wanted him to be caught in some lie or something and then this looks good .. i was hoping to hear a yes or no he had his medical and that should have been sent over to the consolate but this great experiences people had at interview were they with out a doubt knew the answer was yes we didn't get. if all i can go on is the fact they kept his passport i duno i hear also that they have been kept and then denied. I dont know of any reason it would be denied but at the same time its the us goverment do they really need a good reason. ..

  3. If this question needs to be moved then go ahead but right now im pretty upset and confused both me and my husband are. He had his interview today and they asked him a few things kept his passport said every looks ok and that was it .. no yes no no no need documents more etc. They did ask him the most retarded question like was i ever suspended from school.. ( wow like i talk about this ###### lol ) he said we never talked about this so I don't know ...

they did have him swear it was all the truth sign his ds form part 2 took fingerprints and kept his passport but nothing like yes or no wich is what i have been reading has happened. so we have to wait again? is there anyone i can call or ask? were really confused.

  4. I just want to put this out there. I have filed my packet ( 1-130) and i have my recpt. back. But on the website it stays in initial review. I called them and basically I don't send any forms etc unless they ask inc. the avidavit for support.

My recpt. date is march 23 and the time line every were says 5months. Its getting a little scary and nerve racking to see that this online status has not budged for both me and my husband. Is there anything that I can do. I can not afford to see him 9 TICKETS COST 2K RT) AND he cant come here even if he could afford it for fear of the the guys at the airport being &^%$ and thinking he wont return. Is this normal this initial review for so long.

  5. I ensured that I had all of my vaccinations, etc.. up to date and on letterhead from my doctor months before even scheduling the medical.

I had my medical in Montreal (via Medisys) a week before my interview. I picked up the results the day of my interview at 7:00am, as my embassy interview was @ 8:00am. Worked out perfectly-I walked from the Medisys building to the Embassy in 10 minutes' time.

when it comes to the medical what are they looking for. Reason why I ask is my husband was taking medication for depression that he is trying to get off of .. will that hurt his chances of being aproved?

They are mainly looking for communicable diseases like HIV that can be spread to others. They also look for any history of drug and/or alcohol abuse. I doubt your husbands history of depression will effect his eligibility for a visa. If asked make sure he is completely honest and discloses any medication he is taking or has taken. It would also be smart to bring a note from his doctor indicating the nature and severity of his illness, in case they are suspicious or curious about it, if possible. I really don't think it will be a problem for you.

well he does drink alot of beer but i mean hes dutch ( lol ) He was told to go to aa before but in all honesty its funny they wanted him to he drinks beer more of a taste thing and when he wasnt taking meds for depression at the time but all he does if he drinks beer is go to sleep lol

  7. There are two routes you can take:

    I129f (K3) and I130 (CR-1)

You will need to pay $455 to file petition I130, this fee also covers I129f,

Correction. The filing fee for the I-130 is $355.

This page does a good job of laying out all the government fees.

Before he left I put him on my checking and savings acount here so we do have joint finances. It also makes paying fees eazier so we can put money into one pot. I have some transcripts etc i can get but if it comes down to avidavids i can get probably close 2 a dozen. What had me is we didnt have a honeymoon etc yet.. were waiting until he gets here and can stay and then going on our honeymoon also same for reception..( we want to make it special and wait and go to hawaii ) money now goes to getting him here

Oh no I knew about some of it .. esp the spousal forms and we did some of the reserch but alot of it is quite confusing ..and some the timelines are well, seem dire though..Friend who also plays second life also has converstation records etc so I am working on seeing how much info I have and also what linden lab ( secondlife people) can get obiosly I am not the first person to meet there husband or wife this way.

I was more worried about sposorship but as a household we can do the sponsorship or if he is able to come here on a k3 then he can work and both of us can pay $1000 for a diff form ( ins said i cant remember right now what form it is ) basically it says he can support himself.(This is after going though a bit of paperwork reserch online and I called U.S. Imagration.)

Gonna look up the other thing in a bit the CR-1 that one doesnt not ring a bell .. so gonna have to look that up. Waiting on my certified marrige lic. then going to the name change prossess aaand then on to this paperwork. But howeverlong it takes.. reading thu all the responces now. Thanks everyone

  9. Hi . I honeslty am super scared. I met my husband online in 2006 thu secondlife. ( a virtual reality site were people use avitars to meet etc and do lots of stuff) We married in world and have been together ever since. I dont know if i have chat logs i know we text and use skype so we video chat and voice chat. i have some stuff like my wedding stuff in world ( second life) etc to prove were legit along with notecards we have written back and forth plus we have so many mutual friends both in secondlife and out... i dont know how or if i can get my chat history from second life itself..so i am confused on that.

He came here sept 23rd and stayed for a month. We got married... honestly .. we couldnt help it. I am just worried I do not have enough interview proof . I mean if they want to know he snores and deathly alergic to mussles or clams, has a mole ahem somplace i need not mention or what his favorite color is heck anything about each other we know. We may have only been virtually married until now but I gotta say it didnt feel any more perfect to actually say I do.

What all do they need i mean i had a small reno wedding with friends most of whom are second life friends also that are now rl friends or rl friends who played second life .

We just want to be together.. hes has only been gone less than a day and i am falling apart. I got the form we need welooked up the stuff i am / well we are going to file the spousal stuff a.s.a.p. and he wants to come here asap but to stay. How long will it take for him to get offered the visa forms etc to come over here so we can fill out the paperwork or should we find say a diff way of getting him faster like a work visa.I dont want to be apart . Friend of mine sugested looking for a place online were others were going though the same things.. any sugestions, anything will help thank you
