The people that live there said they put it outside the mailbox and wrote "owner of mail no longer lives here". So now we do not know where the greencard is. Post office said if it was returned, they would have a tracking number.

I got it but I am afraid that the card has been misplaced and will not be returned to USCIS. Do they reissue another one without form I90?

Yup, there is a huge disconnect in the data center in Elizabethtown, KY. Been busted almost 6 years now.

(do this once every 4 days till there is news of returned mail piece)

1. call into USCIS, get an ISO.

2. go over returned mail pieces with the ISO.

3. give over the new address to the ISO.

4. confirm the new address with the ISO.

5. ask the ISO to send the green card to the new address

re: she's out of the country with no green card:

Look, she received a stamp inside of her passport, that turns 'all of it' (stamp, visa) into an I-551 document, a temporary, 1 year green card document. Sure, it doesn't resemble a green card, but it IS a temporary green card, an I-551 document, and she will use it when transiting out of the UK and again into the USA POE.

Thanks a lot. We changed the address in December. They sent a confirmation letter that the address has been changed but still sent the greencard to the old address..

I assume the expiration you're talking about is the one to make your initial POE into the US.

The stamp DOES allow for (1) year.

Your timeline says you crossed in december so you still have the temporary 1 year stamp.

It has the entry stamp but is that accepted in a foreign country like UK?

No the visa expired two days ago.. but i thought the stamp makes it a one year visa

call USCIS., request to speak witn an ISO and have the give you tracking number they used to send the green card. Then call USPS again and use the tracking number to liase with them on locating the card. all the best.

We did call USCIS. They gave us the tracking #. It showed it was delivered on Monday. Post office can no longer track it.. they opened a case.. And now my wife is out of the country.. How is she going to get back to the USA?

My wife's green card was sent to my old address even though we did change of address and got the mailed confirmation that they have changed the address. USPS tracking showed it was delivered on Monday Jan 14. I went to the old address and the new occupants said they return all mails. I called USPS and they open a case to investigate where the mail is.. What should I do?

My wife landed on Dec 20th but we are still waiting for the physical green card.

What is the average time to get the physical green card in the mail from the day of landing?

Also, can you travel out of the country without the physical greencard?

I called them. They said the code is for non immigrant visas. They do not have my file so they cannot reschedule the interview. The file is still with NVc and the interview date is sept 11.

We got our interview date for Sept. 12 but we are not going to be around. How do we reschedule ( postpone) the interview? Do you have an email template to email the embassy?

Finally .. Case complete at NVC after resending DS230.

thanks Saylin...nvc operators are so unreliable:( my husband called and was told it should be with original signature:( so i called back again and was told the same thing:(

so i asked if i can mail another one so it won't take another 10 days to wait for a checklist asking the same docs and then another 10 days to review again.so 20 days in total.. the operator just said it's up to me:( why is that so? i said i need a clear answer, a yes or no.. i asked if i'll send with the same cover sheet would it be ok, he said it's ok..so i confirmed if i send the right docs while there's already another one on its way would nvc accept it, answer is again ' it's up to you maam...was furious with the operators:( he's name is john with a terrible accent:(

i guess i'll just have to wait then... could take the whole july until case complete...

I am in the same boat with you. I am not going to rush it again. I will tell my wife to come on visitors visa and she can go for the interview in october.

How do u add attachment if your spouse has visited USA more than 10 times.. do you have a format?

My spouse signed extra forms that she sent to me. Should I just hand write it and send it to them?

Can I email the DS230 or do I have to print and mail to them? Do they accept scanned signature?

since we got a checklist on ds230 Q30 ( just missing the address since age 16,i started with 17), hubby called nvc and talked to Nigel. he was told that i can scan my completed and signed ds230, send it to him so he can then send it overnight via usps.

i just wana ask if this is ok? a scanned ds230? .. thanks

I am in your shoes.. they said we did not check the Military experience. Can you send the DS 230 without the cover letter?
