Hi
My cousin has filed a K1 visa for his Fiance in June 2011, and got it approved from NVC in October stating that they will be trasferring the case to Mumbai Consulate in India. Its been almost more than 6 months since then and his fiance hasn't received a single letter from Mumbai Consulate asking her to submit any kind of paperwork.
Shouldn't she received instruction for Packet 3 asking her to submit ncessary dcouments to be prperaed for Interview.
We are kind of worried as nothing has happended so far, as K1 validity period of 4 months has also expired.
Can any one here who has gone thorough K1 finace visa route from Mumbai Consulate can give some advice what we should do next.
Should we just send an email to consualte asking what is the upadte on the Case ? or Should we just go ahed and send Packet 3 documetns direclty.
Any help from anybody would be really apprcited as my cousing has become very anxiouls lately.
Thanks

Hi
Currently I am in process of providing Sponsor (Affidavit of Support) to one my family friends in India who are applying for Tourist Visa (B2) to US. While filing I-134 for them at Question 9 in forms ask for
” If I ever submitted Affidavit of Support for any person? “
Now the Confusion part…
Well I did submit Affidavit of Support for my Wife when she immigrated to US and before that for another friend of mine who was also immigrating to US at that time on Family Based Immigration, now that friend is US Citizen as well, obviously my wife lives with me so I will mention her name in Question 8 as dependent.
But what should I write in Question 9
Should I write NONE (as the Affidavits I submitted earlier were I-864 for Immigrant Visa application and not I-134 for Non-Immigrant Visa Application?)
Or Should I write both my wife and friends name even though I will be mentioning my wife as dependent while answering Question 9 ?
Or Should I write only my Friend’s name (as my wife’s name is already mentioned as dependent in Question 8)
I am really confused about this and I would really appricate if anyone here with similar experience or knowledge can throw some light on it to make it clear.
Thanks

HI
My wife she recently moved to US and got her new social security number, for last four years we used to file Married Filing Jointly using ITIN number of her. For 2008 tax year we didn't get any rebate credit because use of ITIN in our return. My question is now that we have her newly assigned social security number, can we go back and Amend our 2008 tax return for ITIN with Social Security Number to claim that $1200 credit.\
Has any one gone similar experience or know the procedure, any help from any one will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Don't worry everything will be fine, best of luck
Chman_Zinga
Thankyou everyone! This so freaking stressful...I feel as though if I go out and someone even looks at me wrong Im going to blow up lol

When you say full search what did they do? They went through all his luggages and belongigs like wallet and pockets ??
Chman_Zinga
my husband went thru Pearson's in Feb and all you need is your passport and sealed envelope. I would arrive about an hour atleast ahead of time. Thats what he did and no problems. They did a full search on him and asked a few questions, nothing to stress over.

HI Guys
I will be having my POE on coming Saturday May 28th through Toronto Pearson Airport around noon time.
Can anyone with recent POE through Pearson can tell me how long it normally takes and what kind of questions and documents do they ask ?
apart from Passport and Sealed Envelope.
How long prior to my Flight Time I should be there so I can have smooth POE.
Any help from anybody would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi;
We had successful interview in Montreal on May 12the and we have been waiting for passport and visa to arrive ever since, yesterday night we got email
from DHL that your Passport has been picked up with Waybill Number.
When I look at my usvisa-info (CSC) account it say " APPLICANT STATUS - AT CONSULAR SECTION " what does it mean ?
Does that mean we are approved they have sent visa and passport ????
Any who has recently received their visa please share your opinion
Thanks

Thanks for your feedback, I have one more question for you, initially when you signed up for DHL pick up did you receive any kind of confirmation email that you have been properly registered with DHL or courier service something like that. ( we didn't get any)
Also do you know if they can put in AP or AR even after approving you and giving you welcome letter ?
I have attached a screen shot of my DHL registration, can you tell me if I have properly registered.
Again thanks million for all your help
chman_zinga
Getting the passport back from Montreal can take as little as 3 days, but it can also take 2 weeks or longer. I'd say only start worrying once it's been 2 weeks. Have you called DOS yet to ask if your visa has been printed yet? And have you taken the 7-digit reference ID on the CSC website and checked on DHL.ca to see if anything appears?

HI Guys;
We had our Interview for IR 1 at Montreal on May 12th. Interview went very the lady asked us few questions and approved us and gave us Welcome Letter and said we should get our passport soon; it’s been exactly one week today and no word from DHL.
Has anyone who had their Interview in Montreal around same time frame got their passport back?
We are getting tensed, any feedback from VJer to demystify this situation would be much appreciated
Thanks

Hi Saylin;
Do you have to fill up any form and take it to medical or do they give you any form at the Doctor's office to fill up, and if they do what kind of questions are there?
Chman_Zinga
Got my medical done today at Medisys. Gonna pick up the results next Tuesday.
Has anyone else done their medicals yet?

Lamination should not be a problem.
-
Thanks man
You have been very supportive throughout this journey.
Chman_Zinga
I don't think it would be a problem, since they just want to verify the original certificate (since you did EP); they don't keep it. Just bring both and you should be fine.

HI
I am a IR1 filer waiting for an interview to be scheduled at Montreal. I have one important question about my Marriage Certificate.
I know that at the time of interview we have to present our Original Marriage Certificate as we did Electronic Processing.
We have Original Marriage certificate, one issued from local priest who performed our marriage ceremony, and one issued from Local Marriage Registrar Office.
I have had one of them (issued from Local Priest) LAMINATED, as it is of poor paper quality and kind of tearing apart from the places where it’s folded.
So my question is Will Lamination would create any issue at the time of Interview?
Again only one, issued local priest is LAMINATED, the one issued from Registrar office is not.
I would really appreciate any input from any with similar experience.
Thanks

Hi Saylin;
I received an email from NVC with following content
"All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.
The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.
The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview."
Does that mean our case has been approved at NVC ?
Have you received any such email or We received because We had an RFE?
Chman_Zinga
Grats on getting to NVC! Make sure you have everything prepared and you can fly through NVC.
And thanks. I created that blog to document our journey and my intention was that it would help others.
Good luck on your journey!

Hi Saylin
I need an urgent help from you or any VJers with through similar experience.
Our case is currently at NVC and we are enrolled in Electronics Processing, recently I have scanned and sent all original DS 230 package documents, now we got RFE asking for ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, but our confusion is We have already sent the original one we got form Registrar office in Indian where our marriage took place.
Our marriage was performed by local priest, who issued a certificate, which is in our native language. We have certified translation of that certificate issued by registrar office, which I have sent already but We did not send the one issued by the local priest.
When NVC ask for Original Marriage Certificate, do they mean they need the one issued by Local Priest as well?
Any help from somebody with similar experience would be much helpful
Chman_Zinga
Yeah, I never got an AOS package either although I thought we were supposed to receive one. Maybe they're just incredibly slow to send it out

Hey thanks again for your quick response,
No I never got any AOS package like the one I got recently for IV
Chman_zinga
NVC sends out the same packages to everyone, whether doing online forms or not, so don't fret. Hopefully NVC will update their systems one of these days and not send out the DS-230 package to Canadians. Just disregard that package you got as it doesn't concern us.
You can relax as you're all done
By the way, did you ever get an AOS package from NVC? Like with instructions and such?

Hi Saylin
Recently I received an email from NVC with an attachment called “ p3u agent universal.pdf” which basically says that I have paid all my fees and with in attachment there is Cover Sheet with Bard code and say attach it with your IV form DS-230.
But don’t we have to fill up only DS-260, which I already did, and I have also emailed the civil documents with Cover Sheet generated once your fee status shows paid.
Do we have to send DS-230 as well, on top of filling DS -260 online or not?
Do you have to send the copy of DS-260 with your civil documents? (I sent only documents, Fee cover Sheet and Cover Letter)
I am all confused; yours or any one with similar case help is much appreciated
Chman_Zinga
The two copies, original and copy, is only for those doing the paper DS-230. Since we're doing EP, that doesn't make any sense since we're scanning and sending them copies of the originals by email. Just scan the originals once, and send that.
Doesn't look like you're missing anything. For the passport pictures, make sure they're 2" x 2" and that the beneficiary's name, date of birth, and case number is written on the back of the both of them. Also, are you including a cover letter? It'd be a good idea so the officer can clearly see what's included in the package.
-
HI Saylin;
When you sent your DS-260 package, did you scan two copies of each document,(Original and copy of Original)or just one copy of it.
Also I am planning to send following documents in my DS 260 package can you kindly see if I am missing anything.
DS 260 coversheet
Birth Certificate of Beneficiary
Marriage Certificate
Biographic pages of Beneficiary’s Passport
Passport size photos of Beneficiary
Police clearance letters

Hi
Also how do you write your name in native alphabet in DS-260

Petitioner died – Case at NVC
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Hi
We need an urgent help on a complex situation we are facing on my sister’s family immigration. I sincerely request everyone to please help us solving problem by sharing your knowledge and/or experience.
My Father (the Petitioner) filed Visa petition for my Married Sister (Beneficiary) based on F3 category way back in 2002. After waiting for almost 11Years their priority date became current sometimes in July 2013. Her case was transferred to NVC, we already submitted Affidavit of Support and Immigrant Visa Fess as well as the required I-864 and DS-260 forms. We have been waiting for the Case to be transferred to Montreal Embassy for last couple of weeks and all of sudden my father (the Petitioner) died due to stroke last week.
My mom is US citizen as well but she didn’t petition for them. I am US citizen too and willing to act as Substitute sponsor if need be.
My question is
What would be the impact of my Father’s death on the current petition of My sister?
We have waited 11 long years to reunite our family for good at one place and when we were about to done this tragedy struck.
Can anyone help or guide us what is right course of action we should take so that we get through this situation without waiting for another 10 years?
Is there any hope that this petition would finish without any issue in next few months?
Any help from any one would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
